Great spot on beautiful Santa Monica beach for our lovely brunch! The room has a very high ceiling to manage some of the noisiness of patrons’ voices. Great light and scenery. Food is mostly top notch although my Lobster Benedict seemed to be all claw meat and a bit chewy. I’m just saying cause it was $ 35 and I expected perfection. I did try a bite of the Homemade Corn Beef and the Steak Sandwich which were both excellent! The coffee was strong and delicious with the servers keeping it hot even if they had to change out your cup! The cocktail we tried was the Moma’s Boy Mai Tai, again delicious and refreshing. Service was quite good and the chairs are super comfy padded fabric. All in all I would have given 5 stars had the $ 35 Lobster Benedict been up to par.

4.5 stars. Was lucky enough to be treated to brunch here. The ambiance is enough to make your meal, regardless of the food. But since the food was also good to great, the overall experience was fantastic! Especially love the slices of sweets they give out at the beginning. I usually opt for savory for my entrée anyway, but always have some inner turmoil regarding sweet vs savory brunch entrée. The complimentary sweet they offered was enough to satisfy my tooth. Perhaps it is a ploy on their part since the savory items were definitely more $$$. At any rate, I wish I could spend every Sunday morning noshing here with the ocean views and good food. I pushed up rather than down on stars because, as they say, location location location.

Food: 4.0÷5.0 Service: 4.0÷5.0 Value: 3.5÷5.0 Décor: 4.0÷5.0 Overall: 4.0÷5.0 Very cool view of the beach, and the food(dinner) exceeded expectations given the abundance of prior reviews complaining about food quality. The negative reviews seem to be mostly for daytime meals so take from that what you will. Pricing is indeed on the high side so you are admittedly paying up a little for the location(which is fine).

My husband and I went here for brunch during the weekend and I must say that the view was amazing. The food was limited but above average at best. We were only one of the few people who came around 10:30am so the place was very serene and relaxing. We were attended to properly and in a timely manner. We would definitely go here again when we’re around the area.

I am so disappointed and upset for having taken my friend to this restaurant yesterday for lunch. Even though the patio had charm being so close to the beach, the food is mediocre and tasteless. I ordered the club sandwich and the chicken was like eating rubber, dry and tasteless. All I could bite into was the toasted bread and the avocado. My guest’s order of fish tacos was not fresh(it smelled) and very dry and flavorless. I mentioned it to the waiter and all he could offer was I am sorry and dessert on the house. We opted out since we were turned off from eating anything anymore. I expected he would at least give us one of the expensive dishes for free instead but nothing was offered. I felt so disappointed and jipped! I can say that I will never again set foot in this restaurant. What a shame their food stinks . They don’t deserve this location and get 0 mark in my book.

Food was amazing! I had a filet mignon, it tasted perfect. We didn’t get to sit by the windows to see much of the view, but it was fine. The waiter was hilarious and super friendly. I would definitely go again if I’m in the area!

Tried this restaurant for the first time, it was great! I liked it! The food was good! The waiters were very friendly! The place was very nice! I am most definitely coming back during the day though, I think there would be a nicer view of the beach in the morning!

The service and view is excellent. The food is above average and quality is great. We started out with the Tuna Tartare and fresh baked bread. The tartare was fresh and beautifully presented. The bread was fresh and warm, the butter was divine. As for my main dish, I had the duck confit. The duck was cooked to perfection. Overall a pleasant dining experience.

Came here for dinner with my co workers. We loved the atmosphere, beautiful ocean view and friendly staff. Food is good, I ordered Maine scallops. I’d like to recommend their margarita is delicious.

Nice atmosphere but mediocre food. I came here after reading good review on Unilocal and being charmed by the décor and view. The food here was awful for the price and pretty mediocre in general. The portions are minuscule even for a higher-end dining experience. The quality of the food and service were nowhere near what I would expect for the price and atmosphere here. I normally eat at more moderately priced places with decent décor and views and if I’m spending this much more for a special occasion I expect a much higher quality. If you go for brunch the view may be worth the extra cost, but don’t go for dinner.

Solid 4 stars! Was here last Sunday for Brunch! The restaurant has a nice view, great costumer service, & great food! I ordered Steak & Egg Sandwich(well do e) & it was made perfect! The bread and butter(need to order that) was so good, I could just eat it all(5+ stars for the bread). Overall, I liked the place and will come back!

One of my absolute favorite brunch spots. Everything about this place screams beachside living in LA. The relaxing ambiance, superb service and food and view of the ocean to top it all off. The restaurant is located inside the Shutters hotel in Santa Monica. There’s a small turn-around area where you’ll valet your car for about $ 7 with validation from the restaurant. The last couple of times there, they’ve had a special lobster brunch option available. This includes a lobster starter, entrée, juice, coffee, and an option to add a lobster bloody mary for $ 5(which I highly recommend). For my starter I ordered the lobster cocktail, which is half of a lobster served with cocktail sauce. For my entrée I had the lobster eggs benedict but have also had the lobster bucatini. The benedict is served on a toasted english muffin with a side of crispy hash browns. All great stuff with generous portion sizes. We had made a reservation and requested a window seat. So we could actually open up the window adjacent to our table and get some of the fresh sea air. Great experience overall and we’ll definitely be visiting again in the near future.

Came for a birthday brunch last weekend and it was completely lovely. Even though our group of 6 wasn’t seated by the window, we still had amazing ocean views, and the room felt light and beachy. If you’ll allow it, they bring an assortment of amazing breads to the table to start, which was a really nice treat. I had the chicken on little gem lettuces with tomatoes, olives, and fingerling potatoes, and it was AMAZING. Pricy, but would definitely return for special occasion. Minus one star for the inconsistent service…

Came here for Dine LA and it did not disappoint, everything was sooo delicious. The ocean view was gorgeous, the restaurant has a clean look with blue and white décor. I loved everything about this place, okay so now the food. GRILLEDOCTOPUS&PORKBELLY(Raw Artichoke Salad, Arugula & Black Garlic) This was such a great dish, the octopus was so tender and huge pieces, pork belly was crispy and meaty. ROASTEDBEETS(Capers, Market Apples, Burrata, Organic Watercress) I love beets and burrata cheese so this dish was super yummy for me too. Burrata was soft and creamy, they have 3 types of beets, hint of salt. Yum! BUCATINI(Maine Lobster, Roasted Tomatoes, Capers, Black Truffle) THis pasta dish was delicious, huge meaty pieces of lobster, sauce was light but flavorful, and the hint of truffle made the dish. SALTEDCARAMELSUNDAE(Candy Popcorn, Chocolate Brownie & Caramel Ice Cream) This was a interesting dessert, I wasn’t sure if I loved it or liked it. But i kept wanting to try«a little more» to figure it out, lol. WARMCHOCOLATEMOLTENCAKE(Pistachio Streusel, Vanilla Ice Cream) Yum! you can’t go wrong with a hot molten cake and cold creamy ice cream BOURBONVANILLASEMIFREDDO(Cocoa Nib Meringue, Mixed Berries, Mint) I can’t wait to go back to One Pico and dine during the summer. It does get crowded so make a reservation.

Restaurant is located inside the hotel shutters on the beach. We came here for Sunday brunch and it got busy quite fast. maybe the restaurant with a free view of the ocean means they can slack on customer service and quality of food. Views are nice, service is slow and food options are limited. It’s great if you are in the area visiting or staying in the hotel but for a LA resident, there are much better options with better views, service and food.

This place is very nice! We had quite the view with our morning Lobster Special. There is valet parking available, in a very small area in the front of the hotel that this restaurant sits next to. Make sure you get your valet card stamped, it will save you some money. They give you a bread that consisted of a banana bread, cranberry bread and then regular french bread, all very good! For $ 55 you were able to choose from 2 – 3 appetizers, comes with coffee, orange juice and then the main course. I ended up getting the Lobster(half) shelled, sitting on a bed of ice. The lobster was fresh and it was just enough. My main dish was the Bucatini, with truffle, capers and lobster. I must say they gave me quite a but of lobster, I was actually quite shocked. It was a great dish! I was only able to eat about half of it. I would say overall, I really enjoyed this place, great view, food and friendly staff.

After a highly disappointing brunch at Coast, another one of Shutters on the Beach’s restaurants, I was really hoping that One PIco was a much different and better experience. With an early evening reservation, we were seated near the wall of windows so we were able to enjoy the gorgeous sun setting over the ocean. It was really stunning! Just that alone would’ve made for a fabulous evening. But, a beautiful sunset and excellent food made for a memorable night. We began with the roasted prawns, the cheese board, and the house bread, which were all a great start to our meal. I chose the kurobuta pork chop that was recommended by someone in our group. It was big and thick and juicy, just the way a pork chop should be. It was plated atop maiitake mushrooms and farro and all of it was covered in a sage and hazelnut brown butter, which really took this dish up a notch. We were too full for dessert but I was more than satisfied with the scruptious chop and the ambiance.

A fancy brunch spot in an even fancier boutique hotel right along the Santa Monica beach. While the prices for the dishes are steep, you do get your money’s worth for the ambiance and excellent view. My girlfriend’s lobster BLT was easily the star of the lineup — fresh components in the right ratios and thin, mad soft toasted bread to let the shellfish and produce shine. My pork belly hash was certainly seasoned nicely, but the presentation was much different than what I expected where the belly was chopped up and integrated into the hash itself. Not bad, but not ideal when I wanted fatty slabs of awesome. For dessert, these guys serve up a very respectable panna cotta. Service-wise, nothing out of the ordinary beyond very attentive busboys who kept our water and coffee topped off throughout the meal.
