I go to SMC, and one day while walking around the area, I found this bakery. In my mind I was like«Hell yeaaa, it’s about to go down.» Oaxacan food, is my favorite! The ladies inside, are also super sweet, I actually went to get some Dia de los Muertos pan. One of the cutest & best pan de muerto that I have ever had really. Ladies inside were super nice too. I can’t wait to come back and get some other pan, I wish they had warm drinks and tables to sit down though.

Interesting little Panaderia I found when researching the best pan dulce in Los Angeles. This was the closest place to my home so I went. It seemed as if almost every square inch of the place was covered with pan dulce and cultural/religious trinkets. The little woman behind the counter didn’t speak a lick of English, so I was kind of excited to bust out my Spanish. I was quite pleased with all my sweet treats that pair wonderfully with a hot cup of coffee, but was bummed they were out of regañadas, which was one of the main reasons I went there. I will be back when another pan dulce craving hits.

I am always on the lookout for a good bakery with sweet bread and found, just what I was looking for. Delicious bread, small cute panaderia with reasonable prices.

First, I went there to buy Day of the Dead breads, Pan Muerto’s. Okay, they don’t have any boxes, only bags. So, I brought my own. But remember. I was harassed by a fellow customer who felt I hadn’t said excuse me for brushing my purse against her in the extremely small crowded place around Day of the Dead. The women working there shook me down sort of when I came back to order a second batch of bread. Just didn’t want to do it I guess? Finally, she agreed, but made me feel ever so grateful to return at her exact time for my order. Cookies I bought were kind of old. However, the Pan Muerto is outstanding when fresh with the gooey white icing they say is made with real butter. Good prices, but expect a wait. Cash only.

WOW this is the best Oaxacan bakery ever. Period. Tiny hole in the wall joint with the BEST pan dulce I have ever had in my life. Fresh, amazing selection: like 15 different kinds of sugar topping, chocolate sugar crumb topping, simpler cinnamon and sesame varieties, even fruit filled danish-like pastries, cookies, and big fat squares of birthday cake with sprinkles. Their pan dulce is denser and a little sweeter than average, and for like 6 bucks you can get a big brown paper bag full of yummyness. I visited this bakery last week and was devasted when I got home and realized I was out of soymilk for dunking. Noooooo
