Babak Beigi, DDS

Went to this dentist a few times when I had switched to an HMO plan. Experience was ok. Cleaning and exam wasn’t as thorough as I expected. I felt like my teeth were polished and provided with fluoride, but weren’t exactly clean.

After researching this «dentist», I found out that on May 18^th 2012 his license was REVOKED by the Dental Board of CA. It was stayed and was put on 5 YEARS of probation.

Dr Beigi is the best. I have been going to him for over 7 years. He did a perfect job on my Vaneers and took out all my toxic mercury fillings. He is very knowledgable.
I have recommended him to my family and friends as well.

I was recommended to Dr. Beigi after my tooth needed immediate assistance after chipping it, he did an amazing job and so now he is my new dentist for all my cleanings and a couple cavities, when I am too lazy to fly home to San Francisco to see my Dentist father. He is a very kind and knowledgable man. My father approves and I could not be happier.

Do not give this man your money!

Beigi convinced my wife and I to replace our amalgam fillings w porcelain inlays. Cost thousands of $$.
They all ended up cracking, needing replacing. For real. All of them.
Scammer? I actually don’t think so.
But great dentist? No.
He did give me a very good implant tho. So that’s something.

I was always afraid of dentist, but since I have been going to Dr. Beigi my fear is gone. I am very happy with his work.

Absolute Gem!
Everything from the appointment making to the visit and follow was easy, pain-​free and custom tailored. Dr. Beigi took me as a first time patient within a week (I was leaving to live abroad and wanted a final checkup before leaving). His staff accommodated my busy schedule and got me in right away.
The visit itself was great. His staff was friendly and knowledgeable and didn’t make me wait even 5 minutes for ANYTHING! I had a small complaint about an old filling and within minutes we had digital x-​rays of the culprit, a diagnosis and a painless and insurance covered fix. I was delighted!
Dr. Beigi also was able in the 10 day window between my first visit and my departure to Japan to make impressions of my teeth, get them sent to the lab AND have a bite guard made. What’s more? He sent me a personal email within a week of moving to Japan to get my address information and ship my bite guard to me (all covered by insurance!).
If I move back to LA or anywhere in southern CA, I know where I’ll be getting my dental work done!

SCAM ARTIST!
It has been months of my dental insurance telling this man to refund my money, and he still has not. I’m thinking small claims court.

I moved to Santa Monica over the past year and needed a dentist. I almost always go on a friend or co-​worker refferal but figured I needed a simple check up and cleaning so I picked Dr. Begi off my insurance list of approved providers. I figured I would just pick someone that my insurance covered since I had no dental concerns and my last check up was a year ago and my teeth were in great condition. While he had a nice website and looked legit, Dr. Beigi did not have a Unilocal review (nor was he registered with 1800 DENTISTS) so I figured «no news is good news». Well I was WRONG! He checked my teeth and within minutes of what I felt was a weak exam he told me I had FOUR major cavities. He preceded to show me on the xrays and pointed to the «dark grey areas», which i could not clearly see. He also took digital photos which did show dark spots that he told me «could look like stains to another dentist». He then recomended over $ 3000 in dental work. I totally felt he was not being honest and THANKFULLY went for a second opinion. It turns out I have one tiny cavity that needs a simple filling, NOT the $ 1500 porcelin crown he said I needed, and an old filling needs to be slightly enlarged NOT removed and crowned either! Dr. Beiji said I absolutely needed this work, which clearly would have been unneccesary and expensive. I showed the new dentist the list and prices of the work Dr. Beigi recomended and they were in awe! DO NOT go to this dentist… he is a total crook!
