Locals love Brick + Mortar for its convenient Bike-friendly Main Street location, its great Happy Hour menu, but the warm and friendly bar staff keep ya coming back again and again. thanks to Alex, Anthony, Frankie and Leo for always making me feel welcome foodwise, you can’t go wrong with a Kona Longboard and the Mushroom Pizza

I love the dinners, specialty drinks and atmosphere here! The music was so fun with DJ Dik spinning on the Saturday night we went out with my girlfriends. And when we were here for brunch, the Bloody Mary bar blew me away! Everyone is so nice and you’ll always find yourself having a great time at Brick!

I got the mushroom pizza with truffles and it was really good! I couldn’t taste too much of the truffle which was disappointing, but there was a lot of mushrooms. I would recommend the bbq pizza compared to the mushroom one. If you want truffle flavor, their truffle fries are really good. &&&Their happy hour is all day and it offers affordable prices on food and drinks!

We made reservations via Open Table yesterday prior to going to see a play next door at the Edgemar, not realizing that we’d by far be the oldest four people in the restaurant, perhaps close to twice the age of the average diner. Having said that, the food very good(salad, soup, burger, chicken & waffles) and our server very attentive and responsive and cognizant of our theater tickets in getting the food and check. Good atmosphere if you like louder than usual restaurants and plenty of sports on various TV’s on the wall. Try it next time you’re in «old» Santa Monica.

Sttaff is not very accommodating, and it seems that they were all over the place. Came in with a party at 10:30 am(to get seating), and we waited over an hour for a table. They ended up splitting us up in the end which could have been done much earlier if they didn’t give away other tables. My group got a couple dishes to share as well as bottomless mimosas. They actually give you wristbands to wear… lol. The bloody mary bar looks amazing, but too bad I’m not into that. I was surprised at how good the pizza and the fried chicken & waffles were! The chicken was tender and juicy, and the waffles went well with the dish. We got the wild mushroom and prosciutto pizza, both which were solid choices. Thin base, crispy crust, great toppings. The mac and cheese was lacking as it was not cheesy or creamy enough. The bread crumbs made it more dry instead of textury. This place seems to be a hotspot for brunch, so i wouldn’t return to brunch here as food overall was okay. Great spot for bottomless mimosas though! It’s also a great area to walk around and hang out.

Great spot for brunch! They don’t take reservations so first come first serve! We grabbed a roomy spot at the communal table. Everyone had the mimosas. Bloody Mary’s are $ 12 each but they come with all the toppings of the Bloody Mary bar, which is incredible. My bloody mary was topped with egg rolls, bacon, pickles, salami, fried mozzerella, taquito, totinos, and a donut?! So worth it. Not to mention, by itself, it was literally the best bloody mary I’ve ever had(legitimately spicy!) Brunch was good as well. The chicken n’ waffles were tasty but I might go for a different entrée next time! If you do the unlimited option, they give you wristbands, for about two hours.

Came here twice. Once for bottomless mimosas($ 15) w/friends. Drank so many mimosas, ate food, walked to the beach afterwards. ITWASSOLIT. Second time, came with some other college friends(most not 21+) so we didn’t do bottomless mimosas so it wasn’t as lit LOL. Conclusion: the feat of this place is def the bottomless mimosas or build your own bloody mary bar. The pizzas are pretty good though, and the chicken wings! Last time I tried the eggs benedict with potatoes(~11), the eggs were good, but I didn’t like the red potatoes… would try to sub it for something else(maybe fruit or salad). Downside: place gets pretty packed and we had a large party that ended up being separated because we shared one of the long tables with another party. Also, when you drink bottomless mimosas and need to pee every 5 minutes the bathroom line wait is ridiculous. I also find it pretty entertaining that they have a live dj inside the wine cellar ha. I would recommend this place though if you’re trying to do boozy brunch at a decent price!

We wanted some bottomless mimosas paired with delicious brunch and this place disappointed. As you walk in the music is so loud, you have to raise your voice quite a bit, I felt like I was at a club in broad daylight. The mimosas were $ 20 each, which in my opinion is pricey, I’ve been to places were they are $ 8 and far better, with more champagne and not too watered down. I ordered a veggie burger which wasn’t too bad but the whole noise and experience was unpleasant, it was an ok place with high prices. To top it off there’s only one restroom for women and men, pair that with people drinking mimosas and you get DMV type of lines…

Came here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon and boy, was it packed! We waited over an hour to sit and the food took awhile to come… I shared with 2 others(amidst a party of 6): –truffle fries –tuna tartar –brussel sprouts –prosciutto pizza Omg, everything but the fries blew me away. I love love the food. The fries tasted like fries, didn’t think it was anything special though. Also, the bloody Mary is delicious and comes with a bar of goodies. SOGOOD. Bottomless mimosas are $ 20 per person!

We went on a Sunday. $ 22 bottomless mimosas make for a great day. Don’t come here and expect a quiet brunch as the music is loud and took a while to get a table. I had the eggs Benedict with avocado. The people I was with ordered the pizza which was great and a decent size, and the chicken and waffles which were my personal favorite. At between $ 11 – 12 ea, it was a great deal. Pair that with the drinks and you are bound to enjoy yourself.

Bottomless mimosas for $ 20 with a purchase of an entrée– I thought that was pretty overpriced, especially since you can’t switch out with Bloody Mary’s. Buuuuut… the mimosas were pretty good, so I guess! Ha ha. I tried the eggs benedict, which I was really disappointed in. It was too salty and the bread was too doughy. I didn’t enjoy the dish too much. I only ate one and shared the other with my friend. What I enjoyed? The breakfast pizza! It was super good and I’d recommend that if you were looking for a fun and delicious entrée to eat. Overall, the ambiance was really cool and service was really good. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were really awesome. Would I come back? Probably not. I came from Northern OC to try out the place because my friend heard a recommendation, but I wasn’t too impressed. Great area though!

First time here. My gf and I arrived here on a Friday evening around 8pm without any reservations. We were worried the wait would be long but they were able to sit us within 30 minutes ! Parking: Looks like there’s street parking if you come at the right time. Public parking is $ 6 For a party of two, we ordered… The Prosciutto ricotta mozzarella arugula Parmesan cheese sauce pizza($ 15) It was decent. nothing really stood out to me, though. 3.5÷5 stars Brussels sprouts bacon balsamic($ 9) The Brussels sprout dish was a bit disappointing. The balsamic was overpowering… and couldn’t really get to taste the bacon. 3⁄5 stars Mac & cheese, smoked mozzarella, herbed bread crumbs($ 9) I’ve tried better. Wish it was cheesier. It tasted better when I was drunk and ate it as leftovers. 2.5÷5 stars Overall verdict… Wouldn’t really come back here to eat. Maybe I ordered the wrong things… Hmmmm

We all know that Brick+Mortar is a go-to staple for a night out on Main Street in Santa Monica. It’s got a great happy hour and a clubby vibe that young hot Westsiders flock to on weekends. However, I always forget that Brick+Mortar has an excellent boozy weekend brunch! This weekend, one of my best friends from Rancho stayed with me in Santa Monica. She wanted to do a bottomless mimosa brunch on Sunday. My first instinct was to do the same-old, the yummy Sunny Spot in Marina del Rey/Venice. However, I remembered Brick+Mortar and thought we should give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. All I had heard about Brick+Mortar’s bottomless mimosa brunch was that it was crowded, with long wait times and lots of noise. Not exactly a pleasant description. However, although we did have to wait an hour and a half for our table, you’re able to start with bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys at the bar while you wait! And everyone knows that waiting is more tolerable with a drink in hand. Sarah and I posted up at the bar — yes, the inside is crowded but we found a spot at the bar and stayed there in prime location. We made friends with the super-nice bartenders and they kept the mimosas flowing. Sometimes when you make friends with bartenders they give you all champagne and skip the orange juice, and sometimes they also buy you Jameson shots and do them with you. Am I saying this happened this time? I’ll never tell. We got pretty tipsy and happy on our champagne and then our outside table was ready. We met some nice girls and combined tables with them. Everyone at Brick+Mortar was in a good and friendly mood(who isn’t, with bottomless bubbly?) and it was a great atmosphere. Being full of champagne, Sarah and I split the breakfast pizza with bacon on her half and none on mine. The combination of pizza dough, mozzarella cheese and eggs doesn’t sound appetizing but it was so good and the perfect order for when your first meal of the day is more around lunchtime than breakfast time. I had a great time here, and the food and booze was reasonably priced. I can’t wait for the next Sunday Funday.

This place doesn’t have a variety of food but everything my friends and I have tried is delicious including the Brussels sprouts. If you come on Sunday be prepared to party and mingle with other people there. They have 2 hour bottomless mimosas and a dj. My friends and I have so much fun here we try to come 3 – 4 a year. Staff is friendly prices are good and food is great! Almost forgot to say if you come between 11 – 2 on a Sunday be prepared to wait more than an hour for a table. Still worth it if your friendly and like to mingle. Super fun!

Came here for brunch with a party of 6 on a Sunday morning. The location is a little bit hidden off Main st, but looks really trendy, cool and has lots of space. They can accommodate large groups and are able to set up the main hightable to fit 16+ people easily. They also have a pretty large bar seating in the back and several booths and tables around the place both inside and out. Their brunch selection has some really interesting options: breakfast pizza(think pizza with eggs + bacon), a white sauce wild mushroom pizza, spicy tuna tartar and xarcuterie boards. Brick + Mortar serve the standard brunch drinks: endless mimosas for $ 15 and bloody mary for 10. The bottomless mimosas are OK, they are served pre-mixed with a heavy hand on the orange juice. With our group of 6, they might as well have left us with the entire pitcher instead of coming back every 4 minutes to give us refills. If you are not a fan of mimosas or aching for that hangover cure or are a bloody mary snob, you must try the bloody mary bar. This is by far the best bloody mary bar I might have ever seen, which is a strong statement for 5+ years of brunching experience. For a measly $ 10 you can adorn your bloody mary with the following: onion rings, fried mushrooms, egg rolls, wanton dumplings, corn dogs, deep fried mozzarella sticks, tostados, onion rings, olives(block, green stuffed, purple, and date varieties), pickles, onions, salami, twinkies, red vines, cheese sticks, oreos, pretzels. And I’m fairly sure there might be a few more I missed. Oh, but you like your bloody mary pimped out but also spicy? Here’s some of what you can sauce it up with: A1, tobasco, cholula, pico pico, tapatio, some habanero sauce, and at least 2 other sauces I can’t ID. You like bloody marys? Here you get blood marys. The service was pretty quick and our server was very attentive to our mimosa needs. Even though the champagne is a bit weak and you can chug these little glasses quickly, she never left any of our 6 glasses empty. All of the food was good, mimosas were fine, service was good and nothing on the food menu was over $ 14. If I could give half-ratings I would place this a solid 4.5, but I had one major problem with my experience here. By 11:30, the place turned into a club. The music became so loud I couldn’t hear the people at my table yelling. This place gets packed by 11, and there were people just standing around drinking between the bar area and the tables. Between the music and the hoards of people, the place was unnecessarily loud and felt cramped; I found it impossible to hold a conversation with half my party.

If you sit inside it is extremely loud and more of a super loud sports bar atmosphere. I would recommend sitting outside where it is much quieter. ORDERTHEBRUSSELSSPROUTS + BACON + BALSAMIC $ 9. It will be the best $ 9 you’ve ever spent in your life. I also had the Chuck burger $ 16 which was pretty good. And my mom had Roasted Mary’s Chicken $ 22 which was excellent. Extensive beer and wine list here as well.

Simply, great service with good food. I came here for a birthday dinner, and our server was super accommodating and friendly. Our server(and anyone else who may have helped) made sure to help us get our happy hour orders in(even when we were cutting it a bit too close), prepped my birthday cake fabulously, and even held the leftover birthday cake to be picked up the next day. They also happily seated us early, even when there were still a few people from our party making their way over(I’ve been to many restaurants where they refuse to seat you until your whole party is there). Now, the food here(at least for dinner) didn’t blow me away, but it was solidly good and priced well. I highly recommend checking out their happy hour deals:
The one real downside to this place is that it just gets loud when it’s busy. Something about the room acoustics amplifies the noise level, and when it gets busy, it can be a bit overwhelming. I walked in around late-brunch time once and walked right back out due to the noise. However, when I went during happy hour time for my birthday dinner, the noise level was perfect. Other notes: I saw lots of TVs! I’ll be sure to check it out for a game sometime.

If you order the grilled cheese with tomato soup: the grilled cheese is great and tastes great when dipped in the«soup». I say«soup» because it’s not tomato soup, rather, it’s just a big bowl of marinara sauce. So if you order it expecting to eat the soup separate, be warned.

Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch. I got seated right away which was nice. The waitress was nice and we had great service. We all ordered different stuff and none of us were disappointed. I had the French Toast and potatoes and it was all yummy. And one of the highlights… the bottomless mimosas REALLYARE bottomless. The wait staff walks around and constantly refills. It’s great and well worth it. Recommend. It was a fun vibe inside too with great music. They even had their own DJ… it was like a brunch club!!! So coming back!

Great place. One of the best burgers in the westside. The pizza is also really good, and a great deal on Tuesdays when its half off. Good happy hour that starts as early 1200 noon during the week. Happy hour pricing is good on the patio also which is good since bar seating fills up quickly.

Nothing great/stellar, but not bad either. Good happy hour prices, especially on pizzas(mushroom pizza was good, but I wasn’t blown away by it.) The shareable appetizer plates(cheese, charcuterie) had some tasty stuff on it, but also some others that we didn’t care for as much. Plus, I found the amounts of meat and cheese to be somewhat understated, and the bread overplayed. Lots of bearded fellows present. Hipster joint. :)

This place is overrated and def overpriced for the quality of food. I’ve been here for brunch, happy hour, and dinner… menu selection is almost exactly the same for all three. I went here for a late NYE dinner and was happy with the food and THRILLED with the fantastic service. I ordered the ahi tuna entrée and split the Brussels sprouts salad with a friend. Both were quite good, although the salad was a bit overdressed and the entrée could have stood a bit more of the delicious curry sauce that came on it. Our table also ordered the hummus and Brie appetizers, the latter of which was pretty delicious. Aside from the food, I can’t say enough great things about our server. He checked back frequently, refilled water regularly, and offered to split the check for our 8-person group, including putting checks together for couples. While NYE probably isn’t comparable to dinner or a typical evening, I was definitely impressed. I’ll be checking this place out again.

Came here on a Saturday night; there wasn’t a line to get in but it was crowded inside. There’s an alley next to the Baskin Robbins which will lead you to Brick + Mortar. The bartender made some surprise drinks for us, one was called a California bomb — it was delish! The DJ and music was good. Some people had ordered mac & cheese, pizza, & fries — all of which looked good! There’s ample amount of street parking and garages around there.

Greasy spoon joint and more for the heavy drinkers on weekend mornings. They had a really rad Bloody Mary bar, where you can add anything you can imagine to your drink. A salad with your Bloody? A full meal with protein with your Bloody? Yep, its there. I was impressed with that, and a cool way to entice customers to come in for Brunch. The staff was extremely friendly, and pretty alert since we came in right as they opened up for the day. They even changed up the football games on the TV for our table so we can see one in particular. Very nice! Food was a little forgettable. I wasn’t too stoked on the breakfast pizza we had, not sure what it was exactly, but didn’t satisfy. Andddddddd I’ve definitely had way better chicken and waffles. I was more into the baked Brie that was across the table than anything else! The rest of the table seemed to be pleased with their meals; a few being returning customers. Eh, you can’t have it all I guess, at least the service was on point.

Music blasting, libations in ample supply and plenty of room to vibe and mingle with friends. On Saturdays this is basically a day party for the young and beautiful to get tipsy and play. Drinks aren’t on Happy Hour but that doesn’t keep the cats away! The music here was blaring but from the moment we walked in nothing but hit after hit played. They played Fetty, they played Future and they even had Lil Dicky’s «Save That Money». Like why did you want me to get up and dance at 2pm??? Well Brick+Motar isn’t your typical sit down and chill restaurant. No siree, on the weekends this place is alive and provides a great party vibe. Some well drinks are a bit«watered down». I got the Whiskey Sour which was tasty and strong. The Moscow Mule on the other hand tasted like pure ginger beer no vodka.

Brick + Mortar = Wall I will list out other verbal equations that you may also benefit from: Counter + Arm = Pillow Gold + Silver = Pawn Shop Egg Beaters + People Who Defend the Rights of Eggs = Safe Eggs There are other equations that I could share but I don’t do this for charity. I could teach you but I’d have to charge. My milkshake wasn’t that good. But I did have three beers after it that were good: — Allagash White — Shock Top — Stiegl Radler The last one was an audible. So was the second to last one. Okay, so was the first one.

Came here for brunch during their bottomless mimosas special. Loved our server, she did a wonderful job checking up on us and always had our champagne flutes filled to the top, despite how busy it was. There was even a live DJ performing some really awesome songs from the past to present. The food was pretty decent, though a tad bit pricey. I had a great time sipping on mimosas and having a few munchies. My favorite food item was definitely the brie and bread we order for an appetizer. The brie was warmed and seasoned to a wonderful perfection and was delicious while drinking some mimosas. Would definitely come here again, I would like to explore the menu better and try their different foods. The only downside is that for such a big and busy place, they only had one restroom for men and women, rather than having multiple stalls in each room. So of course there was a long line for the ladies room.

The food here is a solid 4. I came here on a Friday night with reservations and luckily did not have to wait. Everything on the menu looked delicious but we went with wild mushrooms pizza, short rib pizza, bbq chicken pizza, brussel sprouts, and french fries. The portion sizes were just right and I wasn’t too stuffed at the end of the night. The pizza is the thin crust type but there are still enough toppings on it to be decent for the prices. The short rib was the least memorable because you couldn’t taste the meat but the mushroom one was extremely flavorful. The french fries were great for nibbling but fyi, it’s the thin and crispy type so if you are expecting something else, do not order! My friend was bummed how it wasn’t thicker and soggier. I also ordered their cocktail that came with Bulleit Rye, but they easily substituted the bourbon one which was considerate. It was pretty good and sweet and almost tasted neat(maybe it was, IDK since I was drunk) but regardless, I was a happy camper.

Decided to stop by for brunch on Saturday to enjoy some mimosas and it was a sub par experience. The good: 1. Bottomless mimosas for $ 15 with a purchase of an entrée. 2. My boyfriend loved the chicken & waffles — $ 14 3. Parking is located across the street, 2 hours for $ 2 4. Unlimited Bloody Mary TOPPING bar 5. Our server Rachel was top notch. She kept the mimosas flowing without us asking once for a refill. The meh: 1. My breakfast burrito lacked some serious flavor. Thank God for Tabasco. 2. No AC! I was dying. Our poor waitress had those little wooden fans in her pocket, bless her heart. 3. So loudddddd, definitely not made for people looking for something more intimate. 4. Unlimited Bloody Mary topping bar but the actual Bloody Mary’s cost $ each time you order. 5. Only 1 bathroom stall for men and women each. I’m not sure I’ll be back. Our service was amazing which bumped it up a star but the food/ambiance didn’t blow me away.

I give the food here 3 stars, the drinks 4 stars and the service 5 stars. I tried to make a reservations for Sunday brunch but was told that they don’t take reservations. The person on the phone advised that if I got there at 10:30 we wouldn’t have a problem getting seated. We got there a little past 10:30 and were seated promptly. Their patio is pretty small but the inside is pretty dark and warm so we were lucky to get seated outside. Food wasn’t bad here… It just wasn’t exciting or photo worthy. The chicken wasn’t very well seasoned and the waffle was bland and a bit undercooked. To give you an idea of how tasty this dish was, we had 2 pieces of waffle and 1.5 pieces of chicken strip leftover. The mushroom pizza we ordered was tastier than the chicken n waffles so I am glad we ordered it. Pizza dough here is pretty good – not sure if there was cornmeal in it or not but the crust had a nice crunch. The Bloody Mary buffet was awesome. Their basic Bloody Mary is spicy but not particularly strong. It comes to you in a standard pint glass with nothing but a lime garnish. Basically it’s a blank canvas and you get to pick your own garnishes from an amazing spread featuring beef jerky, sausages, bacon, pickles, olives and sweet things like Oreos and powdered donuts. Building my Bloody Mary was pretty fun. Service was good. Both the server and the busser were friendly and prompt. Prices were pretty good as well. I can’t wait to go back here and make another Bloody Mary.
