This place is pricey but I really enjoyed it overall. It’s small and has a neighborly feel to it. It has some outdoor seating as well which is nice when it gets busy especially since the inside is kind of small. We came here for lunch and I got the chicken sandwich which was huge and very delicious! We also got some fries, a salad and my friends also got the bigger chicken platter which they really liked. I would be back if I was craving some fried chicken. It also seems like a great place for brunch.

Sunday brunch. Party of 4. Reservations are not accepted on weekends. Waited 30 minutes. Outside seating available but can’t order alcohol. Food was ok. Had Dwight’s Special plus an overpriced mimosa. Friendly wait staff, service a bit slow or server would forget what we asked for and we had to ask again. Inside seating is right! 26 Beach is still my favorite.

Came here for brunch post my graduation! One thing to note– do not park on the residential street next door unless you want a ticket. First try the lot behind the restaurant, then try on Santa Monica, then try the residential streets on the opposite side of the street. I’ve been wanting to come here for a while now but just hadn’t made the time. Wait was only 20 minutes, which wasn’t too bad since this place was packed. Outdoor and indoor seating– with tables crammed indoors. Ordered: Avocado Fries — overhyped, not necessary. I say this because I can make these at home with little to no effort Guac the Toast– I wasn’t impressed, but my brother said this was his favorite dish. Dwight’s Special– It’s okay, maybe it’s because I’ve ordered chicken and waffles at a lot of different places that this wasn’t spectacularly different for me to tell you all to order this. I’d recommend ordering one of the chicken/waffle dishes they have that has a spin on it, so that you differentiate it from other joints. Although fun fact– you can order this with an egg on top, hooray. Basil Pesto– Parents had this– they liked it, no complaints. Not too pesto heavy apparently. Green Salsa– Wow, this was a little too much for me to finish. I think I was overwhelmed. But it was tasty! Just a little too much food for me. Food was good, but not amazing. Definitely got full after this meal. Only complaint was that drinks were backed up so I ended up receiving my green tea latte when I was nearly halfway done with my waffle. Would come back!

Now one of our favorites to eat when we’re on vacation in Santa Monica! Great service from server Mercedes– She was super friendly, quick, and recommended some yummy options that we couldn’t resist trying. Green Salsa and the Big Breakfast are musts! She had also recommended we try the Spanish Latte which was a special going on– that was delicious and a perfect start for our morning. All in all– we highly recommend! –Helena & Jake

I almost gave five stars, but had a few issues that were not cuisine-related. On the food front, had the chicken and waffles with goat cheese and honey — delicious! Chicken was dark meat, tender and juicy. It’s a bit pricey(just a bit), but the service was very good and pleasant. Coffee was tasty, and the overall experience was positive… On the non-cuisine side of the ledger: — The wait was long, but I suppose that is a hallmark of good food — There is parking in the rear. Not a lot, but worth checking first. — It can get very noisy. I was on a first date, and it didn’t help my cause. I think I’ll be back, but not sure about a weekend brunch.

My top 10 fav breakfast places! I don’t usually eat chicken and waffles but this place is an exception! The waffles were so fluffy and light and just the perfect amount of sweet! The omelette was not greasy at all and the proccuto was delicious! The price wasn’t bad at all so worth it! It was the perfect amount of food!

Came here for the first time last weekend with a friend. It was definitely busy, but we really didn’t wait long. The place is pretty small with a few tables outside on the sidewalk. I ordered the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sliders and they were sooo good. sometimes sliders come out bit dry, but these came out juicy, tender, and full of flavor. My friend ordered the chicken bites with garlic citrus potatoes and loved every bite. I am definitely going back for chicken and waffles. The group next to us had chicken and waffles and they looked incredible. The portions are generous and the chicken is so tender. We also ordered a pomegranate mimosa called the Lady in Red and that was delicious as well. No complaints here!

We came here for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We had a party of 8, waited for about 15 mins and were split up into two tables of 4(which we didn’t mind). I started off with a Lady in Red(prosecco and pomegranate juice, $ 10) which was light and yummy. I also got to try the ginger lemonade(a bit on the sour side) and the strawberry lemonade(mmm)($ 4.50 each) that the hubby and niece got. We ordered the following and shared: 1. Dwight’s special($ 14.50) — chicken was crispy, nicely seasoned and the plate came with 4 sauces(including syrup) 2. Chicken on fire($ 17.95) — def kickin’ in flavor and spicy 3. Churro waffle($ 10.50) — cinnamon ice cream was good and melts fast so eat it quickly; I was looking for more of a churro aroma Ingredients tasted fresh and the waffles were all consistent, crispy and were a good size. Overall, the food was good but a bit pricey. Service was friendly and attentive. There is street parking if you are lucky and there may be some in the back. Beware of parking in the residential street nearby. Permit required… we got a ticket for not seeing a sign down the way :(

Came here for Sunday morning breakfast. Well worth the drive! To start off this amazing dining experience was that even though the waiter said 20 minutes for a table, we got a table in less than TWO! FOOD: We ordered avocado fries, spicy chicken and waffles, and the«Big Breakfast». The food came out hot and tasting as good as the pictures looked on Unilocal. Service: Very helpful and attentive staff! Had a very pleasant experience.

Unfortunately, I was expecting more from their waffles. My ideal waffle is a crisp on the outside & light on the inside. Their waffle, on the other hand, was too soft(pancake-y) for my taste, although it wasn’t too dense. I got classic chicken and waffles(Dwight’s Classic). The chicken was good, actually(moist, seasoned well). It came with 4 sauces — maple syrup, some tomato-based sauce, ranch, and a hot/sour sauce(some version of tabasco). My friend got the smoked salmon eggs benedict(over mini waffles) with house potatoes. Potatoes were nicely seasoned, waffles were super soft, but I realized then that I wasn’t a fan of eggs benedict or smoked salmon…(not their fault, I think). Smoked salmon and runny eggs just takes some getting used to. They had fast service, but the food is a little expensive for my amount of satisfaction. Overall, I probably wouldn’t go back. 3 stars = average

Excellent choice by my husband. He decided to take us out to Santa Monica for the day and looked up some places on Unilocal. This was one and it was our first stop of the morning. We got there shortly after it opened, and it is a good thing we did. Usually Sundays are worse when we go out for breakfast, but Saturdays are not much better, and this was definitely one place where it applied. Do not plan on space or privacy. The restaurant is quite small and be prepared to get cozy. Small two seaters throughout the whole place besides a few four seaters. They can push them together if need be. There are also many seats with the half booth half chair deal. We had a two person table but were about half a foot away from the next one. There are also several tables outside. I did not look at the menu long, because I found my selection. I went with the Vegetarian Benedict. Portobello mushrooms, tomato, and spinach on top of mini waffles. I chose mixed greens as my side as opposed to potatoes. My husband chose the Hot Mama waffle which had me chuckle with the name. It had jalapenos and bacon mixed in I believe, topped with cheese, egg, and pico de gallo. The food came out looking very nice. Everything was cooked perfectly for me, and the waffles were perfectly plump and not overdone at all. Each bite had great flavor. The salad was fresh. My husband was in heaven with his waffle and he is not a big waffle person, mainly because most are on the harder side. His was quite spicy and loaded with spicy ingredients, and the side sauce had a major kick to it. If you choose, they also give you a side of maple syrup. My food was excellent and I would definitely come back here again! There were a ton of people waiting when we left, so we would have to get there at opening for any future visits as well.

I have this LOVE_HATE relationship with LA. I LOVE the restaurants and things to do but I HATE the parking, traffic, one way streets, congestion, parts are a bit filthy and nasty looking, pretentious people and the roads could use some updating. With that said… Legg’s needed to meet up with a student from USC to hand off some posters and things for an upcoming event that he is involved in so we decided to eat up there and have the student meet us half way. Well as it turned out she wasn’t answering her phone, and I was starving like a hostage, passed HANGRY and my stomach had twisted around my spine and liver and was moving into my kidneys. I was trying NOT to be in a pissy mood and snap so I was just quiet. We THANKFULLYARRIVE and find parking that was FREE because it was Sunday so we didn’t have to feed the meter that we could tell. This place is located right on Wilshire so once you get close start looking for parking and be prepared to walk a little. This location DOESNOT take reservations so also be prepared to wait a little. DON’T be like me and come STARVING! They had several peeps waiting outside and we gave our name for an inside seat. She told us about 20 minutes. Had we wanted to sit outside we probably could have been seated quicker but it was freezing and I wasn’t trying to have waiting customers breathing down my back as I ate and shivered. About 20 mins later the young lady called our name and we were seated inside at a small table for two right in the middle of the restaurant. This place is small but they cram you in. The great thing is there is enough space between the table so you are not completely in another customer’s conversation and plate or giving them a lap dance. We were given menus as we sat and told the specials. Our server came over right away and took our drink orders. Chai latte for me and a boring regular coffee for Legg’s. We perused the menu to see what we wanted. By the time she came back we were ready to order. I went for the yogurt with granola and fresh fruit annndddd the breakfast sliders. I told you I was passed HANGRY. Legg’s got a plain waffle and some eggs with fresh salmon and avocado on top. We chatted and before long our food came out. This place is pretty fast considering how busy they are. Our food came out NICE and HOT and I for one dove in teeth first! My yogurt was BOMB-A-LICIOUS! It had a NICE helping of yogurt and granola with sunflower seeds and almonds, and sweet strawberries sliced up, along with blueberries and chunks of pineapple. It was so DELISH! My bfast sliders came with the special hash browns with mozzarella cheese. The sliders themselves had both bacon and sausage with egg on them. OMG so GOOD! LOVEDIT! By the time I finished my yogurt and hash browns I had to tap out and get a box for my sliders. Legg’s was quite happy with his scrambled eggs with salmon and avocado. He liked the waffle and gobbled that down. I didn’t try it but I did have some of his eggs and salmon and that was really good. Our server checked on us but wasn’t pushy even after we had finished eating they didn’t rush us out. That was NICE considering they had some people waiting to eat. We go boxes for our left overs paid and were out. REALLYGOODFOOD! I had a waffle mini bfast sand the next day for bfast at work and it warmed up PERFECTLY! I tosted the waffle a smig to add a little crunch and it was REALLYYUMMY and kept me full all morning. I would come back!

I love this place! I’ve never been disappointed. Customer service is great and food comes out pretty quick. Try to avoid lunch hours for quicker seating. I totally recommend this place for lunch! I always get the Dwight’s Special topped with two eggs over medium. The waffle is cooked to perfection. Crisp on the outside, light and tender on the inside. The chicken is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Together they harmonize and make the perfect combination. The plate comes with 4 sauces: ranch, 2 syrups, and some kind of orange sweet sauce. It’s all so good. I’ve also tried their espresso’s and Spanish latte. Both are decent, but nothing special.

Chicken and Waffles are a wonderful combination where 1 + 1 = 3. Bru somehow adds some magic to that equation making it 1 + 1 = over 9000. Located off Wilshire, Bru has both indoor and(limited) outdoor seating, which is a nice bonus. Service here is awesome. But the best part is the food. Dwight is a classic, but the Chicken on Fire is really something. Especially if you add an over easy egg over it. The waffle is well made, the Chicken crisp and the onions and jalapeños add a nice kick. We also got a deep fried churro waffle which is super good. Prices here are a little steep though. Base chicken and Waffles is about 15. Chicken on Fire is 18. Additions can get pretty high. Was suggested to add a fried egg that ended up being a $ 5 addition. Granted, it was a delicious addition, but still steep. Street parking is available. Especially surrounding the nearby page across the street. A good spot if you’re craving chicken and waffles or a brunch date spot(they play chill music like Jack Johnson or some classics).

Came in around 1pm for bunch after walking the pier with a friend. No private parking & street parking sucks too but hey that comes with the neighborhood I suppose. Also watch out for the street parking signs because my friend ended up getting a ticket.(Parking 0⁄5) It’s pastel yellow inside and out so you cant miss it. There is a couple small tables outside & inside are more crowded arrangement of small tables.(Ambiance 2⁄5) We waited at the entrance for a bit until we were acknowledged mind you it wasn’t busy at all. We seated in the very small table within arms length of another persons table. Our server was a male and he was very pushy in regards to getting our order. I think he asked us about 4 times in a 15 min timespan & I got pressured into ordering which sucked. He never once came to check if we need anything or any refills.(Service 0⁄5) I got their iced green tea with a churro waffle & a side of breakfast potatoes. The iced green tea(1⁄5) was basic it tasted like Lipton nothing really to write about. The churro waffle(3⁄5) come with cinnamon ice cream but I asked for it on the side instead of on top. The churro waffle itself was all right but they served melted ice cream which was a disappointment. The waffle comes with cinnamon & powdered sugar on it with syrup on the side nothing special. The breakfast potatoes(1⁄5) came with bell peppers & onions which I wish it I didn’t. They were unexpectedly spicy and overpowered by the peppers. Summary: I’d never step foot into this place again. It’s a overpriced hipster spot with mediocre food & horrible service.

Ordinary seems to be the best description. Coffee was generous but forgettable, the big breakfast– which had a pretty good waffle(clearly the reason to come!) and some nicely pan fried diced potatoes– was let down by eggs and bacon that I can barely remember eating. I do remember the bacon being decent enough. And while the waffle wasn’t bad, and I am half tempted to go back to try the chicken and waffle, the fried chicken options given did not sound appetizing at all; I think maybe it’s the westside sensibility that they’re trying to apply? 2.5 stars. Mainly for the disappointment– I expected much more…

It’s a pretty small location, but my friend and I must’ve came at a good time because we were seated in about 10 min. After we were seated, we noticed a swarm of people had came and were waiting for a table. My friend ordered fresh coconut juice, and it came straight out of a coconut! Coconut is not really my thing, but she assured me it was delicious. Our server was fabulous! He was nice, funny, and very attentive to our needs. We decided to split the Dwight’s Special and then split the chocolate waffle w/ice cream for dessert. Both waffles were definitely a 5⁄5! This place definitely has the best chicken and waffle combo I’ve ever had – it beats Roscoe’s any day. The chicken is succulent, juicy and oh so flavorful. Paired with the waffle, it was perfection. I’m bummed that I don’t live closer, but will definitely be back if I’m in the area.

Bru’s Wiffle serves famous chicken and waffles in Santa Monica and they are an amazing treat for a big breakfast out. In true California style, the toppings vary widely from traditional fruits or syrups. Bru chooses to showcase goat cheese, avocados, flavored honeys, savory tastes and treats that sound like dessert. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the waits to get in can be rather ridiculous. But if you have the time to kill and really want an amazing meal, I think the hype is worth it. My friend and I ordered: Golden goat chicken waffle Spicy polenta bowl with avocado Cold ginger tea Fresh OJ Avocado fries The waffle was really tasty, crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Topped with mild and creamy goat cheese and fresh honey, the savory and sweet and creamy all worked together. Then add in the crisp fried chicken and the delectable spiced batter — super yum. The spicy polenta bowl was tasty — but super salty. We sent it back and exchanged it for the avocado fries. The staff was really nice about the whole thing and tried to resolve the issue quickly(even as the line for a table grew ever longer!) The avocado fries were a great exchange — we really liked the crisp crunch and the creamy green avocado together. The beverages were cold and refreshing. Prices are fair for the neighborhood. Sitting outside is pet friendly. Staff are good, if a little overworked. Lines are long, but the food is worth it. Parking is tricky. Recommended to come early or late.

For me, breakfast is the worst meal of the day. It’s predictable… boring…and just uneventful. Until I discovered Bru’s… After searching far and wide on Unilocal,I finally found a breakfast joint that offered more than the typical scrambled eggs and side of bacon. Bru’s has a wide range of different things that all involved… you guessed it, waffles. There are waffle siders, different types of chicken and waffles, and basically waffles off the walls. I’m genuinely surprised they don’t offer waffle cocktails by now. I got myself a chicken and waffles with a mango salsa… SOGOOD. The chicken was abnormally large, no complaints, and the waffle and abnormally delicious. I am pretty particular with my food rituals, but Bru’s has broken my routine breakfast ritual. The only downside is the parking and the service. There is parking offered in the back of the building, but that fills up fast. Being in Santa Monica, parking is limited so I would suggest carpooling. The service could sometimes be glacial. It’s understandable because it’s so popular, but we waited around 20 – 25 minutes to get our orders in. tl;dr — Skip out on that Denny’s breakfast and head down to Bru’s. Their waffles aren’t all that awful.

I found this place thanks to Unilocal.I decided to come on early morning, so I won’t catch a crowd. As expected there was indoor/outdoor seating available. It was a beautiful Sunday day in Santa Monica, so I decided to sit outside. They have so many options available breakfast on their menu that it made it really hard to choose just one thing. Our waiter Ernesto was awesome; he went above and beyond on his customer service. He suggested what to order which I did and it was amazing, he was very attentive, and had a very charming attitude. The food was just as he described and was nothing was disappointing. They also offer mimosas but since we sat outside we could not order them. As we were leaving the restaurant we noticed it was jam packed by 9:30−10am. Overall, had the best customer service and delicious food Check out @foodgurla

My guy and I faithfully eat at a different breakfast joint right across the street. By the time we are done eating and we are walking back to our car, we would see the same people waiting to be seated that we initially saw as we were walking to get breakfast. I would laugh in my head and think«wow, I already ate my breakfast and it was delicious and filling and they are still standing in the cold, what idiots. Can’t be THAT good». I refuse to wait for breakfast for anything longer than 30 minutes because breakfast is the most important meal of the day for me; and I literally feel like I’ll collapse if I don’t eat shortly after I wake up. Dramatic much? I know. After seeing these long lines outside of Bru’s every weekend however I figured maybe they sprinkle their waffles in gold; so a couple of month ago I made my guy go get it to go. He brought it home; I opened the box up with excitement; stuffed the biggest piece of waffle in my mouth I could manage and spit it back out. I was not impressed in the slightest. It was soggy and not in a yummy moist way. I did promise myself to never get Bru’s to go ever again; but I did tell my guy that if we ever wake up early enough and we pass by Bru’s and there isn’t a zoo outside we would go in and try their food on the plates they serve them in as opposed to in a box to take home. Today was one of those days we somehow both got up before 9. I stalked their menu on line as we drove, giggling from joy when I saw they have a dish with a baked avocado(if you follow my reviews you know I’m a sucker for avocado) with smoked salmon on top. I yelled to my boyfriend«I’m so ordering this», to which he rolled his eyes because he never gets my excitement for food. He can eat 10 day old bread that’s molding and be satisfied I swear *rolls eyes back at him* We walked up to a cute little place with a yellow rug outside of the entrance that had a funny looking waffle character holding a «Bru’s Wiffle» sign. We were seated shortly after and I was bubbling with excitement. I already knew what I wanted to order before we sat down, since like I said earlier I spent a good 5 minutes stalking their menu on line so we ordered right away. The food brought out looked delicious, but my excitement wore thin after I bit into my baked avocado cup I thought I would have killed just to try. It’s an interesting idea, but poorly executed unfortunately. It was impossible to eat it since the smoked salmon kept sliding off the avocado. I ended up eating the lox separately, and then ate the avocado half with a fork. What a waste of $ 6, I could have made this at home. I never penny pinch, and don’t care for spending money on food; but if I thought to myself that I wasted money and could have made this myself in 2.5 seconds flat I must have been beyond disappointed, which I was :(and I’m hardly ever disappointed with avocado! The eggs Benedict again looked gorgeous and picture worthy so I snapped a few shots before I hungrily bit into it since my avocado cup left me hungry and annoyed. Unfortunately this wasn’t any better. Again, cute idea, bad execution. The mini waffle that the egg was on was super soggy and gross; so I know the waffles we got as a to go order before weren’t soggy because we got it to go, but it seems soggy waffles are a trend at this joint. Yuck! My guy felt like being the king so he got«The King» waffle which was supposed to come with 3 simple ingredients on top of the waffle: bacon, peanut butter and banana… yet somehow they forgot the peanut butter??? Wtf! His waffle ended up looking very boring and sad. Not the King at all, more like a peasant. He never complains but he did ask for more peanut butter since after a few bites he was over it. In short; I don’t get the hype over this place. It’s border line gross and I wouldn’t wait for more than 5 minutes for their grub. I will be going to our usual breakfast spot across the street which is highly underrated but I like it that way since there is hardly ever a wait. Soggy waffles just ain’t for me I guess.
