I recently went here with a friend. I have to say that this place isn’t bad. I had their Hawaiian pizza which tasted fresh, flavorful, light, saucy (the way I like my pizza) and pretty darn good. My friend said she wasn’t hungry but like many times before, suddenly became hungry when I ordered my food and ended up sharing my small pizza with me, lol. But surprisingly, it was enough to satisfy us both. I would definitely come to this place, again.

Went here for the first time last weekend when me and the hubs wanted a quick and cheap bite for dinner. First of all, the service was so good — especially for a place where you order at the counter. They were so friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in, and were nice and helpful during the whole ordering process.
Food: We each got a slice of pepperoni, which was tasty, and shared the arugula salad, which was really tasty. Then as were eating one of the staff from behind the counter came to check up on us and see how we were doing. I really appreciated it. The place wasn’t too crowded but still A+ on making customers feel special. I’d recommend Dagwood’s for a quick and convenient bite.

Absolutely the best chicken pesto pasta. Great customer service especially from the manager, Edward. I previously had a bad experience with this place, which was completely taken care of & handled the best way possible. I’m so happy because Dagwoods is already one of my favorite local go to spots for both the pizza & pasta. My coworker & I ordered pesto pasta from delivery & they took a respectable 45 minutes. (Keep in mind that the traffic in Santa Monica can be awful) The food always makes up for the long wait. Our delivery guy was chill. Our pastas were delicious & a great portion size. Thank you Edward & staff for being awesome; I can’t wait to order from you guys again :)

Maybe there are others but Dogwoods is unpretentious, clean, fresh. The pie is good and the staff friendly. Pricing is excellent– specially on their awesome 24″ Pie. Happy hour all day long I the weekends. What is there not to like?

Their pizza was fine in my opinion. I ordered it, because I live about 50 feet away, was exhausted, and craving pizza. I just ordered a small cheese, which was priced well and filled me up. Honestly I could have made it last for 2 meals, but it was a rough day, so I guess I ate my feelings.
The true star at this place is their ranch dressing. If it’s not homemade I need to know where they buy it from. I would eat that ranch on everything.
I read a lot of complaints about their customer service, but I had no issues. Can’t speak about parking because I live a 2 minute walk away, but they do have their own lot, which I’ve never seen completely full.
Bottom line: get their pizza just for the ranch dressing.

Because of the Tuna Sandwich, I became a regular. It is, by far, the best sandwich I ever tasted! If your looking for a sandwich, then this is great for you!
The Breakfast pizza is perfect when I stop by in the morning or as a snack when I’m just chillin at night and the $ 3 beer makes coming to Dagwoods worthwhile. They sell the «Not your fathers Root Beer!» This is $ 3 dollars! I’ve died and gone to heaven!

This review is based on Dagwood’s «pickup» performance.
I ordered pickup through Unilocal 40 minutes to closing. I always feel this is a risk but I’m lazy and at the time starving too.
I ordered 4 items, waited 10 minutes then went to Dagwood’s.
The place had a good vibe and feel, Dave greeted me at the register. The vibe and great customer service made me add a slice of mushroom pizza to my order.
When I got home I was blown away by the food. The slice was great, the sub was great, but most notable was their fries!!! Golden, crispy, and salted…
Not sure why this place is only 3 stars but this experienced gets five stars… Thanks Dave

I have been coming to and ordering takeout from this place for years and it has been consistently excellent. The food has that home cooking taste with high quality, fresh ingredients. The people who work there are very friendly and accomodating and actually care about your experience at the restaurant. They have two TVs with sports on and a generous beer and wine happy hour. I once picked up takeout on the way home from the animal hospital with a sick puppy asking for food to be ready quickly. They were very understanding and had food ready right when we got there with a handwritten note on the to go bag saying they hope puppy is okay. (Puppy is fine). This is the friendliest neighborhood restaurant around and I hope it is around for a very long time.

Dagwoods has the best salad in Los Angeles if not North America. The Korean chicken salad with copious avocado is culinary wizardry. Have you ever wanted to go Hogwarts? Just eat this salad.
The owner introduced himself to me. Mr. Han told me that the sauce on the chicken is house made, passed down through his family. He is a simple yet proud vessel of epicurean delight.
We are so grateful to have this restaurant.

The best pizza on the west side, if not the Northern hemisphere
Needless to say, Dagwoods is amazing.

I love this place. The food is amazing, the have gluten free pizza, and the staff couldn’t be sweeter. They have an amazing happy hour and an INCREDIBLE Korean chicken salad. A must-​visit if you’re in Santa Monica and want a casual fun dining experience! Dagwoods won’t disappoint.

I love Dags, especially when you call in to order your food in advance. X-​Large pizza slice with the toppings how you like it. I can say that the garlic and basil is fresh. The extra cheese portion is generous when ordered. When I walk down from my office to pick up my pizza, I always ask for some ranch sauce and parm to go. The ranch sauce is homemade.
Also recommend the Lemon Arugula Salad! Great side salad, add avocado!

This was my first time at Dagwood’s and it was a spur of the moment decision. Easy parking! Menu was full of good choices, and the interior was simple, clean & attractive. Delicious pizza cheese and the crust was nicely done, not the best I’ve had, but the friendly service, good vibe and value made it 4 stars for me.

I general don’t write bad reviews though the only thing that was good about my experience was that the delivery driver was nice and on time.
The meat pizza was cold and flavorless. The crust resembled cardboard and needed salt. All I can think is the they ran out of pizza and bought some frozen pizza from the discount supermarket.
I didn’t think it was possible to screw up a chocolate chip cookie?! Really? It tasted like the pizza dough with almost no chips or the sea salt.
Sorry boys and girls don’t pass go or collect $ 200 dollars. Game over.

Dagwoods pizza underwent a cosmetic fix. They remodeled, and made the place look pretty.
They added a few more things to the menu, and as far as I can tell the prices have not changed either.
The service still lacks, but the food is good. I wish the owner/​manager would take into account the bad service the workers provide and try to fix this problem.
I usually order pizza, and a soft drink, or sometimes beer as in March they are having pizza and beer deal for 5 $. The pizza size is very generous, and is tasty as well.
The star was taken off solemnly based off of the service, not the food.
Give this place a try for your pizza needs, but don’t expect good service!
