George’s Burgers

Picked up three breakfast burritos. Two chorizo and one sausage. I’m a huge breakfast burrito person and I must admit, they were delicious. I had the sausage burrito which salsa and it was a perfectly proportioned with the eggs, potatoes and cheese. It was a huge burrito. Others who had the chorizo loved theirs too. My sausage didn’t have any beans but the chorizo burrito does come with beans. Huge breakfast burritos at a fair price.

Service is horrible, food tasteless and greasy. Bathrooms were dirty.
Not serving healthy food here go somewhere else.

A review long overdue. My mom has worked in Santa Monica for well over a decade and introduced me to this place when I started tutoring around that area.
I stop by here every other week for a burger between jobs. This place has my favourite burger ever! Why wouldn’t I? The meat’s always juicy, the sauce they put gives it flavour, and their fries are YUMMY. Service is great. The cashiers AND cooks are always polite and friendly to everyone. Since I come by so often, there’s almost always someone to greet me with a friendly smile and a handshake. If I’ve been gone too long (hoping to stop by tomorrow after a month of absence…), they notice. Haha. That’s how much I love this place. I rarely hit up a place so often.
It’s sometimes difficult to find a table, depending at what time you come in, and if you sit at a table that’s been left dirty, someone will be by soon to clean it up. It’s not just for me/​the usuals. I’ve seen it happen for everyone.
Mostly, I’ve had the hamburger (with and sans avocado), but one of these days I’ll try the breakfast (if I can manage to resist the burger).

George’s gets the job done as a greasy spoon burger joint, but today I ordered the steak sandwich (based on the positive Unilocal reviews) and anticipated a much better meal than I got.
The sandwich lacked flavor and half of it was inedible fat. I spent most of my meal disassembling the sandwich, separating meat from fat. Pretty unpleasant experience overall.
I’ll stick to their burgers moving forward.

Always looking for a decent, cheap breakfast joint, and this place fills the bill. A big pile o’ hash browns, 2 eggs, and toast for $ 4.99. Though a burger stand order-​at-​the-​counter kinda operation, my meal was served to the booth on a real plate with real silverware, for a touch of class. Chunky homemade salsa if you ask. Serve-​yourself free coffee refills. There’s an old picture of Mykonos on the back wall, so I’m guessing the original owner was Greek. But if so, there’s no sign of its souvlaki past, although there IS plenty of Mexican food on the menu. Only downside: I was there at 6:50 AM, it was 45 degrees outside, and the air conditioner was on. Brrr!

First — Quarter to use the bathroom is old school and a way to keep the riff-​raff out of the place. I saw them use a key to let a customer in while I was there. Since there’s a picture here complaining about it, score one for George.
It’s called «George’s Burgers» O. K? I know when I walked in what I was getting and that was a decent burger at a decent price. The other food looked good and prepared fresh to order like my burger was. Fries were lightly seasoned and large in size and portion. The burger was awesome because of all of the things on it and the staff are all really nice.

My coworker bought me a burger here a few months back and i love it. Ever since then Ive been back twice for their burger, just a regular classic cheeseburger does it for me. When Im in my fatty mood and i dont want in n out ill come here.
The combo is about $ 7 and comes with lots of fries and a nice sloppy delicious burger, mmmmm. Its always paced every time I come and it seems like alot of ppl love the breakfast which i havent tried yet. The floors could be a bit cleaner but other than that I love their burgers!

I read many of the reviews and overall they are great? I have very few one star reviews in my little collection. I wish there was a no star category for this place.
Here’s the deal, I like burger joints/​dives that have some type of down home feel. When I walked in I knew I made a big mistake and when I feel that way I always walk right back out. So never again will I go against gut instinct. I ordered a double bacon cheese burger with fries and onion rings. The burger took a bit but no worries but it the burger patties were so thin I wasn’t sure they were meat. The bacon was sliced thin enough I didn’t think there was any. Fries cold, onion rings inedible.
The place was dirty and tough I figured it out the restroom later there is a place to slip quarters I as if you should pay. A lot of suspicious activity around said restroom… I would gladly pay a quarter to forget I ever walked in here.
I’m not a hater or troll, but this place is absolutely not so much.

Both burgers and breakfast was delish! Service was fast and cook was engaged and joking. Helpful hint… too many flies and soda machine is too hectic and full of kids.

Best breakfast burrito in town! The combo & egg burrito is huge, it’s literally the size of a small child. I add pastrami to it for extra flavor but can only eat half, and I’m a big guy standing at 6’2″. I usually save the other half for another meal.
Only reason I gave them 4* instead of 5* is because you should expect to wait 15−20min to receive your order, they are usually quite busy. Especially during lunch and weekend hours. It’s also not super clean as it’s a hole in the wall, but nothing unusual to a classic American diner.

Their burgers taste like a typical you’d find at Tom’s or Tammy’s, so they’re definitely not nasty but not the greatest ever. I enjoyed my chili cheese fries more than my burger.
Also, the people who worked there weren’t rude to me at all. They were actually nice.
