Kim is the the best hair stylists I’ve ever had, She is extremely talented and very friendly! She really listens to what you want to do with your hair & with her knowledge and creativity makes it happen. I wanted to change the tone/​lightness of my hair. She went above and beyond by doing highlights, ombré, and bayalage to make my vision come true! She has the experience & is a true master of cut and color. My hair looks stunning — if you ever want to get the best cut/​color I’m Santa Monica go see Kim!

I came to Kim for a haircut without any particular hairstyle in mind, being bored with my straight hair and hoping that she’d recommend something for me. She was great — she came up with the cool idea and I really liked the result (although was a bit shocked at first cause she had to cut off a lot of hair :)). Now I have a fresh trendy hairstyle that does not require a lot of styling in the morning.
The only thing that I did not expect was the separate charge for the blow-​dry — but the prices are posted online and I should have checked it before.
Overall — I’m happy with the result and would recommend Kim to anyone.

I had a positive experience updating my hairstyle. My hair was in need of a a good cut and style, and Kim was very experienced to recommend the best cut and style for my face and hair type. My hair is long and straight and she added volume through layers and texturizing. I am interested to try subtle highlights during my next visit with Kim.

Kim was terrible. I had this layer that was very blunt and ALL I told her to do was just blend it a little bit and that I wanted my hair all one length and straight across with point cut. She cut the bottom layer and everything else but my actual ends? I mean does that make ANY sense?! Why would I go in for a cut and not get my ends trimmed? Anyways by the time she was done I had some suspicions about the evenness but you couldn’t exactly tell at the time because she styled it to hide what a sh*tty job she had done. I asked her is my hair even and she says I THINK SO and didn’t even measure it. what kind of effing stylist are you?! When I washed my hair once or twice is when I really got to see the cut, first of all totally uneven and my ends were so stringy looking like the grudge! she had also put a blue extension piece in my hair and I asked her WILL THIS BLEED INTO MY HAIR? She said NO guess what?! It bled into my hair! Now I can’t even wear my hair down anymore until it grows out because the cut is stringy and I have weird blue colors in my hair. DONT GO TO HER JUST DONT DO IT! Also when I asked for a refund because she totally effed up my hair I’ve been growing out for 2 years now she yelled at me and said I’m not giving u your refund. I got charged 90 DOLLARS for a shit job. Not worth it people.

Love my bayalage. I found Kim on Unilocal and decided to try her because it looked like she did good color. I am so happy I went to her. I wanted to try out a little pink too and I love it. She lets you choose either pink extensions or just pink highlights. I did the pink highlights and it looks really cool. It’s not too crazy just a pop of pink. She is a master of color! I’m so happy!

I found Kim on Unilocal on a Sunday afternoon and she usually doesn’t work on a Sunday but after a quick chat she agreed to come in just for me went in for a balayage and cut. I’m very picky with who does my hair coz it has a mind of its own.
Anyway, I showed her a picture of the color that I wanted for the balayage and wanted to get a cut as well. Was quite nervous about it coz it usually doesn’t turn out the way you want it but Kim was spot on with the balayage. Not too light and not too dark. The contrast with the colors looks really nice.
Showed Kim my Unilocal check in and got a 20 off over the total… On top of that she gave me a blow dry too with no charge.
Kim is very accommodating and giving with her time and service. She ensures that you get what u want and is very lovely to talk to as well! Will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend her!

So thankful I found Kim as my new stylist! I’m always nervous to let anyone cut my hair, but Kim made me feel at ease as she was a great listener making sure all my hair needs were met. She’s experienced, friendly, and honest… what more could you want in a stylist?! I asked for a cut and subtle balayage, and the results are flawless. Throughout the process Kim kept asking me for feedback making sure I was happy with my new hair, and I was so thankful to see how much she cared.

Came to Kim for my extensions and balayage

Kim got me in for an appointment last minute before I left town for Thanksgiving. I am so appreciative! She worked so fast and everything looked so good. My tracks are hidden, they’re very secure, and they look so natural! Kim educated me about which methods worked for my thinning, fine hair. I had a full head of wefts and it took about 2 hours to complete (which is nothing compared to the 5 hours I use to sit through). My natural hair is the same length as my extensions and it is slightly lighter than my extensions but everything blends perfectly. You wouldn’t even know that I had extensions in. We are already in talks about some balayage work also!!!

Kim is the most talented and skillful hair stylist ever! She did my hair extension with individual keratin bonded hair and the job was done perfectly. The extensions were all invisible and my hair definitely looks fuller. I had a 10″ bob and after her work, it became 20″ long. Gosh I’ve never had this kinda long hair before so I’m all excited and satisfied. I would definitely recommend Kim to everybody who needs their hair done!

I went to see Kim to get balayage color done. Initially, I saw her Unilocal page and gave her a call to discuss coloring my hair. She told me that, for a partial balayage, it would be $ 120, tops. As a new college student, this was about all I could budget in, so I went with it and traveled from Westwood to Santa Monica.
When I first arrived to the salon, the price quote went out the window. Kim said that a balayage, cut and style would be $ 300-​$ 350. I outright told her that I couldn’t afford that, and noted that she gave me a much lower price quote on the phone. She eventually reasoned with me and said that could give me a discount, since I was a college student, but I’d have to leave a Unilocal review (I suspect that this is why she has so many 5 star reviews). I told Kim that I wanted to change up my ratio by potentially adding more brown (save for a few lighter face-​framing blonde pieces), and just blending the highlights, for a cooler blonde balayage look for the fall. I showed her several pictures depicting this, and we seemed to understand each other.
But, after a couple of hours, she blow dried my hair, and it was much blonder than I expected. It was also a very yellow-​toned, which washes out my complexion. She then commented that my haircut was «too bulky» and said she wanted to cut it. Sitting in the chair, shocked by the fact that my hair was now around 95% blonde (I had been at probably 70−75% before, hoping to go less) I didn’t protest, not knowing that that would cost me even more money.
As she went about cutting it (never really asking what I wanted, just sort of pursuing her own vision), I began to notice that the layers underneath were now completely blonde, except for an inch or so of my natural color at the root. Not the gradient, sunkissed look that a balayage is supposed to have. There was nothing gradual or natural looking about the balayage job I received. Also, on one side, the blonde was yellow-​ish and on the other, more of a blue undertone. But definitely not the same color. To say I was unhappy was an understatement, but I just wanted to go home and figure out what I could do to salvage my hair. So, I signed for it ($ 150 total) and tried to leave as soon as I could without conflict.
After washing it, I began to notice how dry it felt, and that my ends seemed almost fried. The color also started to turn brassy in some areas. I texted her asking for a possible partial refund to cover the cost of the Olaplex treatment I would need to get since my hair was fried by her dye job. She replied with an offer to color correct my hair, but said that I would have to pay more for product. I didn’t want to have my hair done by her again, so I texted her back, once again saying that I’d like a partial refund since I was so unhappy with her work. Long story short, things were not cordial, and just today I received a text from Kim saying that she’d tell «all her clients about me so they’ll write on the internet about me» and that she’d report me to Unilocal.To say that she responded unprofessionally is an understatement.
Just from that response alone, I would not recommend her to anyone. Not to mention, the salon wasn’t comfortable, the balayage was atrocious, and her attitude was patronizing and borderline offensive throughout the whole appointment (she even asked me at one point if the stylists in my hometown in Northern California knew what balayage was!). Unless she learns to better communicate with her customers, and adopts better, more polite, business practices, I would NOT have my hair done by her.

I went to see Kim for the first time last week to get a hair cut. I liked it so much that the next day I brought my husband. He mentioned to me that this is the first time he gets so many compliments on his hair. I went back yesterday to change my hair color, from black to caramel. Kim is a true artist, she did an amazing job on my hair color! It came out gorgeous! My first time getting balayage and I am so happy with my hair. I no longer need to drive to Beverly Hills to get my hair done. The salon is 5 minutes from my house and I can get a mani-​pedi at the same time.

Kim did an awesome cut! I Really like it! She also is very nice and personable. I totally recommend her!

Kim is amazing!!! Never going anywhere else! It was my first time dying my hair and she made me feel so comfortable! I couldn’t be happier with my hair and she gave me the best tips! She even gave me peaches when I was hungry! She is the absolute master of hair and she took mine to the next level! I have gotten so many compliments on my hair and I love the balayage! I am only ever going to Kim for hair!!!
