I very much enjoyed my stay here. It’s literally a 20 minute walk to the ocean. The style is very cute. Very Greek bungalow islands feel. For the price, I would absolutely come again. The staff there was super nice to me.

This is probably the nicest looking of the cheap hotels. The only reason I rate American Motel on Lincoln better is location. Unlike American, Holiday or Pavillions Motels, Palms does not seem to have a stable transient population living onsite, but it does have a few permanent residents, of which it appears a couple help with management. I dealt with Jacob, and he was great. The motel is cute — nicely maintained and colorful. It’s still not as nice as even a Comfort Inn, but it’s alright. No internet. No phone. No refer, no microwave. Linens were free of stains and room didn’t stink. They keep it together — but just barely — it’s still one of those places that probably hasn’t renovated in 50 years. Really — I know for a fact it’s been around that long. When my uncle came to CA in 1967, he stayed here for a bit. It’s a cool spot. I will say, that during my week long stay — 2 nights I was woken by a guy screaming and banging on a door from 3am to 4am and then I had to see that guy sleeping at the bottom of the stairs when I left in the AM. Kinda uncomfortable. Another time, as I was getting ready to leave, the guy next door came out of his room, totally f’d up on something, and fell down. I had to help him up. Later mgt called the cops and ambulance on him and he left. Whatever, I would stay here again

I’m pleasantly surprised. I saw mixed reviews but thought I should check it out because I drove by once and it looked really charming from the outside. It is no frills, bare bones, budget accommodation and it’s not for everyone. But I would come again for the price, and the charm.

Slumlord… tvs don’t work, dirty rooms and horrible management and they have 2 people who rent from the owner, he has building code issues, building enforcement was there when I was he has been sited and warned many times for renting room with no heating and plumbing, I would never stay there again. I was visiting Santa Monica to see some friends over Christmas. I usually stay with them but this time they had relatives in so i chose a budget accommodation because i m between jobs. I was a bit worried with some reviews i saw about linoleum floors etc but i didn’t have much choice! Well i m happy to say that i was pleasantly surprised. I mean it s a simple motel but my room was clean, with nice tiled floors throughout(i hate carpets!). It looked well kept and clean(i m a bit ocd when it comes to clean). The style of the motel is unusual for California, it reminds me the white houses on the greek islands… Some of the guests were from Norway visiting, we had some great conversations and made some new friends. Overall I had a great time in Santa Monica and i would definitely use Palm Motel again if necessary!

Called twice, both times a pocket answered the phone(as best as I can tell).

It’s ok, and fine if you just want the location in Santa Monica and low price. Not recommended if you’re looking for a place for your visiting guests. The rooms are strange, really dirty carpet floors, no a/c, TVs didn’t work in 2 different rooms they stayed in, no toiletries provided except soap, and it attracts creepy and drunk guests. It was worth paying a little more for a normal hotel down the street with all the amenities, felt like heaven in comparison to this place.
