This review is long overdue! Jeannie has been cutting my hair for years and I trust her completely. Whether it’s cut or color, she knows what will or won’t work, and whenever I’m ready to make a big change, she always comes through with a haircut I love. The salon that Jeannie and Sharla built has just the right level of intimacy without feeling too small(which I prefer to large and loud salons). The attention is all on you and since Jeannie is such great company, that’s exactly the way you want it. The salon is also easy to access and parking is a breeze(and cheap). The 2nd street parking structure has a pedestrian exit/entrance right next to Salon Republic, where Snipcut is located.

Jeannie has been cutting my hair for years now, maybe getting close to even a decade of haircuts! I go in to Snip/Cut looking like Sasquatch but leave feeling sleek and elegant and dare I say it, pretty. She used to work at Forme on Main but it’s gone now, so you have to come find her salon in the Republic of Beauty near Third Street and it will be worth it! She can do anything with her magic scissors and FYI, if you need color done, her lovely business partner Sharla can help you out too. 5⁄5 stars for not looking like Sasquatch anymore

Sharla’s a fantastic hairdresser. She’s been cutting my hair for several years now, first at Forme Salon and now at Snipcut. When Forme closed earlier this year, I was relieved to hear she was going out on her own and that I could continue using her. I always dread having to find another good hairdresser. You won’t go wrong with Sharla and Snipcut.

For years I was a slave to the Fantastic Sam’s and Supercuts of the world, architects of haircuts that would look OK for a day only to reveal their shoddy workmanship the following morning when I couldn’t make my hair look the way it did at the salon. My Asian hair is admittedly not the easiest to cut but surely there must be a way, I thought. Tired of the bad haircuts, I finally bit the bullet and made an appointment with Sharla after a friend’s refferal. Happy to say that my hair has finally met its match. Sharla took her time to examine the unusual growth patterns of my ‘do before tackling a beast that had felled many a stylist and barber before her. I have the Ronda Rousey of bad hair. It was a worthy battle but in the end Sharla stood victorious over my previously undefeated mane. This was confirmed when I woke up the next morning and was finally able to prepare my hair in a manner that matched the look out of the salon. My bad hair days are a thing of the past. Thank you, Sharla.

Sharla is the best! She had been cutting and coloring my hair forever and I have never been disappointed! I highly recommend going to her and I promise you will leave feeling great!

Jeannie and Sharla at Snipcut are the BEST! Their studio is modern, beautiful and clean, great location right be the water and the Santa Monica promenade. I recently went in for a cut and a color, and love my new do! I don’t generally experiment with color too much, but I trust Jeannie, and loved the color we pick out together, and have received lots of compliments!

Jeannie has been cutting and styling my hair for almost a decade. Whether I just get a trim or a new cut and color(single process), I never leave her chair feeling disappointed. And, especially since I switched back to a pixie cut a couple years ago, I regularly get compliments on my hair when I’m out and about. I’ve been once so far to her new space in Salon Republic in Santa Monica. It’s small, but cozy, and you still get Jeannie’s honest opinion on a new style – you can believe her when she says whether she thinks a style will suit your or not – and a killer head massage during the shampoo. I always look forward to my next visit.
