The spa was comfortable, with nice amenities, and friendly staff. The hybrid massage I got from Steven was great, and my mom enjoyed her massage from Jeanie.

ANOPENLETTERTOTHIS SPAs MANAGEMENT Before I begin this review I want you to know that I’m writing this in the spirit of progress and constructiveness I’m going to be as brief as possible: A quiet room has the word«quiet» in it! The intention is to be quiet(or ambient music) and not have its doors open with tragic opera music with vocals playing in one room and an entirely different kind of music playing in another. Creating a collision of sounds. This is not relaxing. Nor even close to the intent of a «quiet room» Again, regarding the quiet room and it’s open doors — it’s not designed to listen to the receptionist talking loudly about gossip or to clients as they’re walking in. Close the freaking door — and play ambient music cover up the Peripheral sounds.(i realize the place is small– all the more reason to refine it) A spa should be a real treat. And the small details make a difference. Having the housekeeper sweeping the floor with a loud straw or hard bristled broom outside of the quiet room and with it’s open doors is ridiculous. Get a soft bristle broom– Its really like listening to a cat scratching on a post for what seems like an eternity. Its NOT the housekeepers job to figure this out– Its your job to manage the place like a spa. Direct your staff to speak in hushed tones whenever possible — does this REALLY need to be said? Its like telling a cook they need to turn on the stove before water will boil. Keep your pool at the fantastic temperature it is — it’s REALLY awesome. By the way, in addition to the screaming tragic opera clashing with whatever els music in the main area. You have Christmas music in the pool — it’s like a disco with three levels with each one playing something different — Ill go to the club AFTER my massage, thank you.(obviously i was there during the holiday season) I hope you took this message in the spirit in which I meant it. The spirit is progress, constructiveness, and a desire to actually relax at and and enjoy your spa in the future. Regards — A client who thinks your place has fabulous potential and would like to try it again MAYBE.

After the last massage incident my boyfriend and I had at the Bay Club in SF, I was a little hesitant to try getting a massage again. BUT Spa Le Merigot has restored my «spa faith» with the wonderful experience we had on Sunday! Decided to make a reservation here based off gayot.com’s «best of» list. I called ahead to make a reservation for a couples massage at 4pm, and the man that I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful with making the reservation. We arrived 45 mins earlier than we expected(it was raining that day so we thought there would be heavy traffic), but when we arrived at the spa they openly welcomed us. After filling out the usual paperwork the lovely receptionist gave us slippers in our size and then gave us a tour of the facility. She welcomed us to «explore» the separate men’s/women’s facilities since we were early and to come back from to wait in the«relaxation room» 10 mins before our massage. The women’s room isn’t very big. It consist of two restrooms, one eucalyptus steam room, one dry cedarwood sauna, two showers, two sinks and less than 30 lockers. The amenities offered there are limited there as well, but the facility was very clean and tidy and they had robes in every locker ready to use. When it was almost time for our couples massage we went to the«relaxation room» and it was lovely. The room was dim with comfortable couches, and the smell of the room was for so soothing. They have a variety of Twinings tea to choose from, and apples for you to eat. The receptionist offered us complementary champagne, but we politely declined. That’s nice that they offer that though. Our massage therapist greeted us promptly at 4pm and escorted us to the couples room. I had a male therapist(William?) and my boyfriend had s female therapist(Borballa?). They were both wonderful! I had a really bad knot in my left shoulder area and he got it out without a lot of pressure! My boyfriend said his therapist used perfect pressure the whole time. After the massage the therapist had fruit infused ice water waiting for us, asked how we were feeling, and thanked us for coming in. We sat in the relaxation room again and oh man! You just want to sleep in there after a nice massage cuz the music just makes you want to go to bed. The total for the couples massage and a 20% tip was actually less than going to BW for their massage, which I thought was fantastic since my boyfriend had a bad experience at the BW in Pasadena. All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone and everyone… even locals!

What a beautiful spa!!! I’ve been a few times and it definitely has the best facilities of all the hotels in Santa Monica. Hot sauna, large eucalyptus steam room. My massage was amazing. I also had the Tropical Oasis scrub and wrap and it smelled delicious! What a great combo. You can lay by the pool and use the gym, too. Plus, they validate parking!
