My wife showed this Unilocal review of Dr. William Werner in Santa Monica by someone named Thomas L. I don’t know how long Thomas L. has known or had professional relations with Dr. Werner and his staff, but I am compelled to offer another view of Dr. Werner that I hope will offset the projections and negative tone of his review. I have been loyal and appreciative of their complete competency and professionalism since first coming to him in 1975. First, Dr. Werner is as skilled and disciplined as any dentist I have ever known. I am deeply grateful for his ability to solve the problems with my teeth that largely evolved through years of parental neglect and my own poor care. He may be «old school,» because he finds solutions to dental problems by using his years of experience, which includes staying up on the latest techniques, materials, and technologies. Furthermore, if Dr. Werner is a little slower than he has been in years past, he more than makes up for it in the skill of his eye-hand dexterity. As for Dr. Werner’s support and office staff, these people bend over backwards to assist, re-schedule appointments, and be the helpful sorts of health professionals that are often missing in larger facilities. Yes, the office itself is modest, but it is difficult for me to imagine how any dental chair could be more comforting than the handful of rooms that look out onto their private patio garden. Lena, in particular, is a gem and I am offended at the snarky tone of this other person’s review of her. Whoever he is, his review is mean-spirited and it is a sad commentary on the internet in general that someone can drop an incendiary missive that has long outlived whatever experience motivated his submission. There should be a shelf-life on reviews(mine included). However, I would have written these same words throughout the years that I have known Dr. Werner and his staff, and I am writing them now in 2014, because they are current, relevant, and still apply. Finally, I would like to add that even if he hasn’t invested in architectural upgrades, the dental equipment is state-of-the-art, the hygienists are using the latest technologies and procedures, and they maintain a tracking system of my mouth’s history and condition — on site, in a file folder with my name on it, whenever they want. I hope that Thomas L. has found a qualified dentist to handle his dental needs.
