Deli is great… Most behind the counter are very friendly. The asian kid/man at the cashier needs to work on his people/communication skills… Definitely does not belong dealing with the public… Rude.

I hate giving a 2, but the food moves it up from 1 star. Been ordering for a long time now online with them, and putting notes«No Lettuce» on sandwiches and other miscellaneous remarks for fellow employee’s orders, and 8 times out of 10 the order is wrong. Yesterday, I asked for Forks and Napkins since I had ordered their«Fancy Chicken Salad»(a 5 star), and as usual no forks or napkins. I had had it, I sent the driver back with the order to get the forks and napkins and proceeded to call in to talk to the Manager. Got Switched to Jennifer, who did not seem to understand why I was upset(Of course, I always eat with my fingers!). I also mentioned that this happens all the time, well 80−90% of the time. Suggested they make a habit to always bring the utensils, or at least have their drivers carry some in their delivery vehicles, but felt I was talking into space. Will start considering other delivery services and suppliers. I am tired of lack of Customer Service and understanding.

I came over here as a recommendation by one of my coworkers. This place is located on the corner of Pico and Euclid Street and sits behind an auto repair shop. This place is a neighborhood market but has a deli inside with options for sandwiches. I decided on the chicken and pesto sandwich and it was awesome. The ingredients were fresh it tasted great. My only issue with this place was their customer service, there was a customer standing in front of me and neither one of us got acknowledged we had to go out of our way to grab the attention of the people working behind the counter. I’m very impressed with the quality of the sandwich and definitely recommend this place.

I have been having deliveries from for sooo many years and the deliveries and deliverers have always been excellent. But the quality and quantity of their groceries has taken a total nosedive! I’ve ordered certain fruits, vegetables and ice cream, cheesecakes and deli; fruits have been(sometimes) too unripe, vegetables have been rusted or way too soft(celery), ice cream, though I’d ordered consecutively the same large amount(5 – 10) never available, desserts I loved gone and deli orders were full of mistakes! No mustard, I’d get it! Only romaine, I’d get mixed greens, incorrect bread on sandwiches and no tomatoes when that was the main thing and the order had been doubled! Eggs ordered(50 @) cost me a dollar apiece! I’m sorry to sever my association with them. Quite frankly, they can’t keep up with Amazon Now. I liked having the option of having a late night go to. Too bad.

I have been a loyal of the Playa Vista , both online and in store. Today I decided to stop for a sandwich and drink. I walked into the checker giving me an odd look. I walked through the aisles to find a cold drink & was out of place. I was moved out of the way by 3 employees fulfilling online orders in my search. Never once offering help. Once I found the drink I wanted, there was an employee restocking. He stood in my way for most of the time & when I said excuse me, he couldn’t be bothered to move. I had to wait for him to finish looking at the shelf before I could get my drink. I went to order my sandwich & stood there getting gleaming looks from the 3 employees behind the counter. I waited a good deal of time for them to take my order. A bit while later, one of the employees placed a sandwich box in front of me. When I reached for it, she glared at me saying, «THAT’S not yours. Don’t touch it.» As if I was stealing a sandwich in my mistake. If it wasn’t 4:00pm & I had eaten at all, I would have walked out then. Leaving everything there. Then, when mine finally came up, she put it on the counter with attitude, «THIS one is YOURS.» As if I was a two year old. Not sure if it’s because of the volume of online orders & there not used to dealing with the public or just plain rude employees. Either way, I will never come back to this location to waste my money.

(This concerns delivery only.) The delivery arrives in 30 minutes or less. Friendly drivers. However, after every online order I place, I always expect a phone call to tell me the items they are out of. Even though the items are listed as in stock on the web site. Like I said, this happens every time. The web site itself needs a lot of work – * Items listed as «in stock» are not in stock. * A lot of missing photos that are always«coming soon.» * Order buttons that do not work. For example, you can never order the listed 24 pack of soda. But you can order two 12 packs for more money. * The search engine is a nightmare. You can’t find«Dr. Pepper» but you can find«Dr Pepper.» The problem with finding things on the site and the«out of stock items» phone call has forced me to begin researching alternatives.

I’m giving them 2 stars because even though I’ve been going there for years, more recently has a tiny asian kid been taking the phone orders. I know most of the employees in the front by name and this guy is no exception, but I won’t use it. Every time I order and he answers I know he’s going to screw it up. Always! It’s not even a difficult order. When I arrive I always see him gossiping in the front deli area and I look at the container and can immediately see that it’s wrong. I’ve mentioned it in the past but it seems that he’s too busy talking about what’s going on with such and such that he can’t do his job. The last two times he didn’t even ask for my name, I had to ask«do you need my name?». Poor poor customer service and for the manager to allow this to happen just shows the care and quality of work taught. As far as the other employees, when they answer, they get the order right and done quickly. If not for them I would’ve stopped going a long time ago. Thank you to all of them!

Although they required a phone number to open an account, after I had paid for my order and waited almost 90 minutes I called to find out I’m out of their delivery area and they mysteriously didn’t have my number. The manager was unapologetic and informed me that they’ll refund my money in TWODAYS. Stick with PinkDot.

A delivery driver call my cell phone because he could not find the address to my building so I came outside to meet him and I said you as a delivery driver can always deduce what the address is by looking at the address is next to the building he was very snappy and said that you do you want your groceries or not? I asked him what are you going to take my groceries away? He then link down grab the groceries and walked away. I think. On my cell phone and call Yummy. I went back in the house put on a jacket and then proceeded to walk up to Yummy. I ask for a manager who was working tonight and they told me his name was Matt Matt got on the phone I told Matt I was coming up to the store he said the end I will meet you in the parking lot. I came up to the store I voiced my complaint and my displeasure with Andrew. Met the manager said he would take the delivery charge off of my next order. The next day I received a call on my cell phone during work hours from the general manager or district manager David. David introduced himself s being a manager from Yummy. Com and said I understand you had a incident yesterday? I told him yes I did. He then said well tell me about it. I asked David if his email address was David. He said yes. I told him I was composing a letter and I will include him on that letter. He told me at that point I don’t believe Yummy is the correct delivery service for you. I asked David if he wants banning me from Yummy he said yes I don’t believe that we are the correct delivery service for you. I asked David at that point do you speak for all of Yummy? David then replied I am the district manager at the store and I don’t feel that we are the delivery service for you. Is David that you’re going to cut me off without hearing my side of the story? David reply well i spoke to the manager who was working last night, who said that you told him if we send the same driver to your door you sock him in the jaw? And we can’t have acts of violence against our drivers. So yes I don’t believe that Yummy is the correct delivery service for you. I said, you should have given me the courtesy of allowing me to tell my side of the story. I then told David that I am a letter writer and that I too know the owner’s email address and I was still going to compose the letter and would include him on the letter.

I’ve read some of the reviews and I’ve also lived in the neighborhood since they opened and I don’t get why people have a problem with the counter service. Beats me. You can get a great sandwich at a reasonable price, freshly made from top notch ingredients, including the breads, veggies and meats. I like the Italian Sandwich. But I’m sure they are all good. I only live a short walking distance from them and I’m not interested in delivery, so how they perform in that area I wouldn’t know. What I do know is that in the store, no one has ever been rude to me. I’m sometimes short an item and rather than drive to a market, I can just slip into Yummy, get what I need, and whatever more it costs me I probably would have used in gas going to another market, farther away. I wouldn’t think of using them for a full shopping trip. But they are a convenience market, so why would I? Great baguettes, by the way.

I love the convenience of this place and they always have a few go-to items that lots of other stores don’t have. They have great hours, it’s close, it’s clean, and the staff is always very friendly. It’s small but want meant to be a full on grocery store. I give it 4 stars because the price is a little higher always seeming to fall at the maximum possible retail price but I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily unreasonable, but more ‘convenience’ priced.

The worst. Called at 5pm, no one arrived, waited till 7.30, called them and they ‘said’ they did Come but no one answered. Ok, gave them the benefit of the doubt and they sent another delivery out, said it would be 25 mins. I actually waited outside this time. It’s been an hour. I’m only waiting now so I can punch the driver in his fucking face!

My client introduced me to this place. She ordered lunch for us and they delivered pretty quickly. My favorite is Chinese chicken salad. They don’t use cheap lettuce and the dressing is very tasty. Since I’m not a fan of peanuts so I always order mine without them. Unfortunately they don’t deliver to my place thus I have to come and pick it up every time. They prepare the food pretty quickly. The fresh fruits in the store are very expensive although they look a lot better than in regular market. The deli selection is pretty good and the price is reasonable. A great place to have salad and sandwiches. They are very good.

Placed a order online. Delivery guy came had the money waiting for him. They were out of a item did not bother to tell me and charged me for it. Called them and the manager said sorry we did not tell you we were out of it. No money back, no credit. Bad customer service and will not order again. Just lost a decent customer

Was getting a tire replaced and this was the closest place to eat next to it so stopped by. Got a mozeralla sandwich. Everything was fresh and great until I got to the second half of the sandwich and saw a hair in it. Immediately lost my appetite and threw the sandwich away. Had to run to work so didn’t get a chance to comment inside. Disappointing.

Yummy is a decent option for food in this neighborhood. Not too many options really, between SM College and Lincoln Blvd. I have worked within a block from their location for 20+ years. So in general, we are glad they are here, may be 6 – 7 years ago(after taking from the previous grocery chain). Yummy’s is a small chain, whose focus is deliveries, not walk-ins(but they are fine with them). Their deli counter is quite good. Always clean and they have fresh offerings(eventhough the menu is somewhat limited) and generally healthy. Only one time did I receive wilted lettuce in my salad. And, once in a while they do get your order wrong, but hey… that’s just statistics. My favorites are: fancy chicken salad sandwich, mozzarella pesto sandwich, fruit salad and the chicken Caesar with a light dressing. Their market component is on the smaller side, but much better than what the neighboring liquor store, gas station market and pharmacy combined to offer. Prices are a little high, but not really horrible. And it is Santa Monica, afterall. The biggest complaint that I have with them is that the cashiers really need to thank EVERY customer EVERY time. It’s really not acceptable to me That they don’t. 8 of out of 10 times(and I have been there at least 100 time without exaggeration), I am the one who thank them, just because that’s how I was raised. It is the most basic courtesy that the management seems to have neglected to train their staff on. I get it’s a casual place and you get a lot of transient employees, but that is such a BASIC thing. Unless they simply don’t care??? This is the reason for 3 rather than 4 stars.

Possibly the WORST customer service I have EVER encountered. Walked into and walked right past two employees standing by a register talking. Both of them, a girl with long hair and a big nose, and a guy with a ponytail and big nose, BOTH of them looked directly at me and went right back to their conversation. Never uttered a greeting and their expressions certainly made it clear that customers were not welcome. Intended to by a sandwich at the deli, however there were 3 guys behind the deli counter, as I walked up, NOTONESINGLE one of them said hello. They simply stared and talked to each other. I was the ONLY customer in the WHOLE store. No one said hello. After walking through the store, I walked past a back room where there was a short man with strange earrings wearing a blue shirt that literally looked me up and down and turned his head. Ok, I don’t know what is in the water, air, or being piped in the vents of but I promise you I will never buy a thing from this place. It is clear they are not interested in customers and their collective attitudes completely turned me off from them. Expensive prices and terrible attitudes? I didn’t realize the Santa Monica store was in Paris. Bleh.

For just one item like milk, I don’t mind stopping in since it is right next to my house. However the customer service is horrible!!! The staff there are children and the deli staff comes off rude. I’m looking at the deli menu, No one in sight and the two women take they’re sweet ol time. This is probably the 50th time I’ve stopped in. Most times I leave unsatisfied with the lack of organics & lack of fresh produce. I always have high hopes. well if your someone who doesn’t mind paying $ 10 or more for a tiny, not so «yummy» sandwich then this is the place for you!!! I’d rather order from amazon fresh.

Not only that there Staff dared insult me on the phone in the most unprofessional way. It was unbelievable. Not a fan, at all. I love checking out other grocery stores that I don’t have in the area and came across Cool name, good locations in great areas, had to check it out. Old store, small parking lot out front which made parking easy. They had nothing, 4 rows of musty, old looking products. The highlight would be the deli counter, the only place where people were at. Even that didn’t look appealing enough for me, left without getting anything. I might be spoiled living outside of a major hub and used to big, nice grocery stores, but there was nothing for me here, service nonexistent.
