A-1 Top Quality Painting

I really loved these guys. They were professional, showed up on time and completed the job before they estimated they would. On top of that they didn’t overprice the job! I’m a single mom and I am not really familiar with remodeling issues so they could have really taken advantage of me. but they didn’t. They even had recommendations of how to lower my cost… When does that ever happen!

I cannot recommend enough Teo’s team at A-​1 Top Quality Painting: Teo himself, Terry, Sky and Rudy did an amazing job painting my house! Moreover, they are respectful, punctual, professional, and cleaned up after the job was done.
Teo is not only very skilled, and extremely efficient, but also quite the manager — that is, he puts down fires without batting an eye :)
In my case, I had picked the wrong color, and only realized how much I disliked it after A-​1 Top Quality Painting team had already painted half the house. Teo calmly took back the paint and had it re-​tinted with 150% color. When that didn’t change the color, he made a second trip to the store and had the color changed. Teo also replaced the lamp that the guy who pressured washed the house had broken, without me having to remind him to do it.
His crew took care of all details without my having to nag :)
The office personnel is also very kind and pleasant: Stephanie, who took my phone call, was very prompt in assisting me.
The A-​1 Top Quality Painting exceeded all my expectations, and I am warmly recommending them to all my friends and neighbors!

My wife and I were very selective when it came to painting our house. It was not only important that the company had excellent references but were also in compliance with state and local licenses, Workman’s Compensation and liability insurances. We narrowed our search to three and selected A1 Top Quality not based on price alone but on the what they agreed to do and the manner in which they would do it. A1 Top Quality is an excellent name for the work they did. The Owner, Tom Warren was on sight when they started and when they finished. During the job there were never less than two men at all times and always had a master carpenter/​supervisor on the job. These guys were great and very attentive to the smallest requests. This company checked out with high marks with BBB A+ rating, Prime Buyers Report and Diamond Certified. You will not be disappointed with Tom and his crews,

I am a new/​first time home owner and I was very nervous about getting a great exterior paint job at a reasonable price. I had 4 contractors come out to give me an estimate on my house. Tom Warren (owner) came in about 20% less than the other contractors on his estimate!
Toms crew came out and power washed, prepped and cocked on Friday and had the job completed by the following Thursday! All of my neighbors have complimented me on how great the house looks. Also, his crew was very nice and careful around my garden and back yard. I would highly recommend this company!

I hired Tom to paint the inside of my house. The crew was nice but a bit messy. Then on the supposed last day of the job, Tom came to my house to collect payment. He told me at the end of the day the foreman would do a walk through with me and correct any mistakes. Well, at the end of the day the crew was literally racing around trying to get out of the house. It was chaos and I was finding all sorts of missed spots including a wall that didn’t get a second coat of paint. We never did a walk through. My house was a mess. Paint on floors, toilets, mirrors, screws from curtains that were hung incorrectly left on the table, paint crumbs everywhere. I sent an email to Tom expressing my concern and he replied with one half sentence saying he would send someone over. No explanation for the mess, no apology, nothing. I had to ping him more than once for an appointment and I shouldn’t have had to. Then they broke an expensive sconce for which I deducted from the final balance. Tom said he bought a replacement online and when I asked to see the receipt, he first told me he was going to keep the receipt so I couldn’t have it and then when I asked to simply see the receipt, he claimed he didn’t have one. He became defensive and argumentative which leads me to believe he did not purchase a comparable quality replacement for what they broke and that would have been reflected on the receipt. Even Tom’s two employees didn’t understand why he wouldn’t show me the receipt and apologized for his rudeness afterwards.
The paint job was ok. The lines were not great and afterwards I noticed they painted the top of my window trim, they painted around curtain holdings and the worst thing is they put all my window drapes back incorrectly or halfway. Screws are missing, some screws are crooked, some screws are only halfway secured which means the curtain rods could fall at any moment. The hardware is bent, the shades have paint on them. Very very sloppy work in putting my house back together. I assume they cut these corners thinking I would never look behind the drapes or on top.
For the amount of money I paid, I expected more. Shop around and look for a company who will not cut corners and leave your house in a state that requires you to get up on ladders, take down and re-​secure your curtains, spackle and then paint. If I am going to do that, I might as well have painted the place myself.
I would not recommend them.

A1 Top Quality Painting is my BEST experience of dealing with contractors– period. I have been a homeowner for 13 years now so trust I have dealt with many contractors and have plenty of horror stories!
Tom (manager of this company) gave me an offer I could not turn down, which included fixing some rotten siding on my home, painting the whole house and 2 decks. His workers showed up on time and were courteous– very important as I have a home office. I recommend them most highly if you want the best price with top quality…:)

I’ve been touting them as the best contractor I ever hired. They painted my exterior last year. They showed up every time, on time. That’s a rarity these days. When they ran into some unexpected extra work painting my deck, they only charged me pennies for the extra work. Even when I had them quote for my interior and then decided to do it myself, Tom was totally cool… offering to work with me on pricing. These guys are great.

We had a great experience with this painter on the exterior of our home! Tom’s bid was the middle of three we got — very fair, and he didn’t try to mark it up at the end of the job. We wanted to match a paint color, and his match is perfect. He suggested a trim color, and his taste was right on.
The job started on the day we agreed to. His crew came at 7:00 a.m. every morning — even Sat. and in the dark. They were incredibly neat and very thoughtful, moving heavy pieces, removing light fixtures and replacing them with the new ones we bought, and taking great care of our home and working around our three big outside dogs. The guys were very friendly but didn’t talk a lot. They just worked. Most important, our home looks truly beautiful, and we’re excited about it.
Tom delivers on his promises. He’s highly responsive and a presence on the job. We can’t wait to have Tom and the guys back to do some interior painting for us. I’ve already recommended him to many of our friends.

I scheduled an in home free estimate with Tom (Owner) of A-​1. Unfortunately the day of the scheduled appointment, it was raining extremely hard and he was unable to come. I understand that. I wouldn’t want to travel that distance in the pouring rain either. However he gave me a funny excuse of «Its raining and I won’t be able to write on my piece of paper». His assistant left a message saying that their area was flooded and that it is supposed to clear up in a few days. So not sure which it was. Flood or the infamous soggy paper excuse? I decided to just give them the benefit of the doubt because thats how I am. So, we rescheduled for a Saturday morning 10 am. Saturday comes and its a perfect day. 10:00 am comes and guess what? No Tom. No Call. NOTHING. Ok, I decide to give him more time. I am always late to appointments myself so I always give people extra time without getting upset. 10:15 comes around. No Tom. No Call. I decide to call Tom to see if he is lost or to see if he mistakenly thought it was an 11 am apt rather than 10. I call him from my cell phone. No answer. I left a message. I also sent him a TEXT as well. NO call back. Nothing. 10:30 comes, and still nothing. I decide to call from my home phone which has a blocked number. And guess what, HE ANSWERS!!! How wonderful. You ignore my call when you see my #, but when you don’t and think its someone else you answer. That is great!!! Good business practices. Tom, sounding very surprised, mentioned «Oh, uhhhh, sorry» as well as some other lame excuse (like the soggy pen and paper one). Then he said «Well, when they gave me the MAP QUEST, I noticed it was 1 and a ½ hours away from where I live and that is probably too far for us.» I responded sarcastically «Oh, thanks for letting me know, I appreciate it!» and the conversation as well as my confidence and respect for this company/​owner ENDED. I don’t mind that it is too far away and you cannot do the job because of those constraints. But, the owner knew on tuesday how far it was. Why didn’t he let me know then. And ok, maybe he didn’t read the Map Quest until friday or saturday morning. Why wouldn’t he just call and tell me? All I needed was a phone call stating this information prior to the the appointment time and this review would never have been written. I’m sure they do great work in their area, however, the owner doesn’t seem to be either organized nor professional with the way he deals with potential clients. Needless to say, NO CALL, NO SHOW, and TERRIBLE EXCUSES is just BAD business whether you are a painter, consultant, owner, dog walker, babysitter or anything. I would never use this company even if I lived next door to the owner.

We’ve lived in our home for eleven years and it was time to give it a face lift. We chose three painting contractors to give us estimates and after all three had responded, we chose A-​1 Top Quality Painting, and we are so happy we did!
Tom Warren, the company owner, came to our home and spent thirty minutes measuring, talking to us about what we wanted and then explaining his philosophy and approach to business. He told us he would have a written bid via e-​mail within 48 hours. And that is what he did.
After we notified Tom that we were choosing his company, he worked with us on a start date and told us what to expect. He took our paint swatches and matched them exactly.
On Monday, the first day of the job, his employees showed up promptly at 8:00 a.m. Tom was there and introduced us to his crew and explained what they would be doing.
And that’s how it was for the next three and a half days. Part of the job included two indoor rooms. We have purebred cats and made it clear that they were not to be let outside. The painters were extremely careful not to let the cats out. They were also courteous, friendly and more than willing to accommodate any last minute requests.
The interior was painted with Behr brand paints and the exterior was given two spray and rolled paint coats of best grade Dunn Edwards low sheen paint.
The results … well, you can take a look at the photos and judge for yourself. But we’re very happy with the work performed by A-​1 Top Quality Painting and would recommend them to anyone.
