Mark was able to repair and transfer a DAT that had been damaged by a different tape transfer service on the east coast. He did an great job for a fair price with a quick turn around time. I will certainly use Audio Restorations for any future tape transfers I might need. Excellent service. Recommended.

As a generation X musician from years ago, all my foundational music was on dat tapes(remember those?). Now that I’ve returned to composing music 20 years later, I needed to dredge up some of my old favorites to rework on my digital audio station and potentially transform into new music(all of which were recorded poorly by me for my band to work on via portable cassette-based multi-tracks – yes, this was before game changers like digital audio workstations were born, allowing composers to do virtually everything on a computer insofar as recording and producing are concerned). After dusting off my dat player and starting it, the machine turned out to no longer works. Imagine the heart-wrenching feeling one gets after putting their only dat master left into a machine that died on it, potentially eating up the reel. I thus sent my last dat to Mark at Audio-Restorations. His service does a myriad of sophisticated things regarding audio, but I simply needed my dat tunes to be transferred to CD for me to re-listen and reproduce the tunes. With my only copy shipped to Mark he was able to transfer the files to CD. Throughout the process we kept or line of communication open via email and within days I got my CD and DAT master back. Mark’s totally cool, totally professional, and is great at what he does. For those of you needing to repair old audio media, go the route of Audio-Restoration!
