Wanted to grab a glass of wine after dinner while in town and was recommended to this place. Quaint location and atmosphere. We arrived a half hour before closing but the bartender was either already looking to close down or wrote us off because we were younger(late 20s to early 30s). The service was horrible. We were not offered any information on the wines they had available nor what we selected. An older couple(mid 40s+) arrived 20 minutes later and were offered several free tastings and were given lengthy descriptions about the wines they were sampling. The bartender proceeded to stop back by our table merely to drop the check off, never asking us about the quality of the wine nor if we needed anything further. Then he managed to bungle our credit card transaction. I would not stop back by this location solely due to the service. 2 star rating due to volume of wines on hand.

Interesting place. Offers tastings of local smaller wineries as a wine flight. Owner is a bit interesting though — real character. Take him out of the equation and this place is really great to get to know the wineries in the area and start your experience.

This is a great neighborhood wine tasting bar with some good apps. They only serve and sell from a selected group of small production wineries. I have been here several times and it is probably my go to, wine spot in downtown Santa Rosa.

I only had a few free hours in Santa Rosa, so I was looking for a place where I could taste wine from multiple wineries, ideally from those I hadn’t tried before. Cellars of Sonoma fit the bill. The menu has wines by the glass and by the bottle. They were also offering a flight of four wines. The reds were really delicious(the sparking rose and Chardonnay were good, but the pinot and Syrah blend blew me away) I also ordered a cheese plate, which was reasonably-priced and did a good job as a base for some very generous pours. The service was friendly — no complaints here. Four-and-a-half stars(would be five stars if you could build your own flight by offering small pours of those wines they offer by the glass), rounded up.

By far the worst service we’ve ever received. Not only was he rude but his comments were extremely degrading. Stay away from this place.

So I went here solo after a long day of work. I am an out of town guest. I decided to get the tasting flight, way to unwind and get to know the area through chatting with staff. Boy was I underwhelmed«staff» which consisted of 3 or 4 gentleman busy talking to each other pretty much ignored me. Knowing a bit about wine I stated something too one gentleman who dismissed my comment«yes we are lucky to live in Ca» and walked off to talk to regulars and friends. Only tasted one Pinot which was, well, not great. My husband and I are used ones to pay $ 50 plus for a good bottle of vino, do it often in fact, so I could have been a valued customer and returned on my next business trip, yet I waked away empty handed after one taste throwing $ 4 or $ 5 dollars on the bar, as this is how I was raised. I gave them two stars because they tried to be courteous and engaging when I stated I was leaving. Bummer as I seek out small businesses to support whenever I travel.

Great place to check out and taste some wonderful wines of the Sonoma region! Friendly staff as well that pointed us to some local wineries to try while in town. Highly recommended a stop by if you are in the area!

We live in the neighborhood and love Cellars! It’s in historic Railroad Square a small family winery wine tasting bar. Very unpretentious. Very reasonable. Features a few local family wineries. They have happy hour and live music on Friday. Friendly. An interesting combination of locals and visitors staying at the neighborhood hotels.

On Tuesday, 01/05/2016, I had friends visiting from out of town. I took them to Cellars of Sonoma so they could taste some local wine. When I arrived there were two customers at the bar. The owner, Scott, informed me they were close. I explained the situation to him and he stated he could sell me a glass but could not do a flight. I was a bit ticked off by this due to the fact this was the only night my friends were in town. Several minutes later I called Scott and explained to him that I was displeased with his decision, and that I would probably post something on Unilocal.I used a civil tone with him when I stated this. I’ll admit I was a bit upset about this situation, and thinking back, I most likely would have just forgotten the whole thing. HOWEVER, when I mentioned this to Scott, he just flew off the handle and went into a verbal rampage, to the point where I had to hang up on him. This is the owner of a wine bar. A business that deals in social customer service. This guy(Scott) handled himself very unprofessional. He automatically made himself the more unreasonable person then me. I will never go back to Cellars of Sonoma.

I came here last weekend with the friend. It was the first time we have been here. We wanted to soak up The last of the holidays. They had some Christmas Decour up which was really cute live music and a good-looking menu. The tasting was reasonable on the pores were decent. The servers were great I definitely will consider coming back here

Wandered in here after dinner at Jackson’s and was sooo glad we did. They have live music every Thurs-Sat– the man playing had a beautiful voice and it felt homey and«Cheers» like the minute we entered. The service from Maggie was excellent, which I feel is few and far between nowadays. There wine selection is all local and exclusive. By the time we left we were chatting with all the other patrons and almost felt sad to leave, I will definitely be coming back here again and again.

Great place for a tasting, small bite or glass of wine to some lovely live music. The staff here is knowledgable, friendly and really helpful. Gave me some great wine suggestions and also solid recommendations for wineries to visit on the rest of my trip. Definitely worth a visit!

This is one of my favorite places to go on a Friday afternoon to begin to celebrate the week. The service is great the atmosphere is comfortable and quiet. They serve wines from six family boutique wineries by the glass. You can join their wine club. Andrew always takes good care of us., He’s laid-back and very knowledgeable. They have music to starting at 7 o’clock on the weekends.

This is a really cool little tasting room in the heart of old town Santa Rosa. We went in the evening and enjoyed a bottle of wine with live music. Great place for a Fri/Sat night to go hang out and enjoy! –Nice wine list/choices, good atmosphere.

Pop in for a quiet glass of white wine to relax on a warm summer afternoon. Really nice ambience, great service and the best? Playing really cool old school music. Hendrix. Rod Stewart. Early Fleetwood Mac. Nice. :-)

We stopped by here randomly a few nights ago and were shocked we’ve never hung out here before! This place is great! Live music, fun seating, an upstairs lounge and SOMUCHWINE. How could you not want to stay a while? Not to mention the musician, John Pita, was AMAZING! So talented! Also, I was so happy to see that they have a fun food menu as well! Great looking bites to enjoy. I will be back to try those!

This is on a block with 2 other wine bars… One was packed full, one empty and Cellars of Sonoma had a few people here and a was not too crowded. They do wine flights here, by the glass or by bottle. My friend and I each had a glass if red and split the cheese plate(which was ½ during happy hour). Live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. The server was very nice and recommend some dinner places to us.
