Owners Ken and Melissa, as well as the other staff. are friendly and treated us like friends. The Hungarian mushroom soup is so tasty! Ken brought us complimentary cheese puffs to try. Thumbs up!

Wonderful sandwiches! We stopped in while traveling. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Cute and clean place. We had the bomb, with pastrami. Great, pastrami nice and lean. We also got the perky Turkey panini, great bread. Even the kids liked it!

Had a chicken curry salad and the bomb sandwich. Both were absolutely amazing. Fresh and the perfect amount of food. They serve some local beers as well. Great for lunch and dinner!

I thought this place would be better, since the reviews were so good.
As some of the previous review state, the people who worked there were friendly, but the sandwich I had was only mediocre. I ordered the Rubin, which was a special that day.
On top of the sandwich only being okay, I was turned off for a couple of other reasons.
Besides putting pickles on the sandwich, which I asked for on the side because most restaurants pickles are overbearing and ruin the balance of foods, I paid $ 2 more for the sandwich because it was the special. If I had ordered by the ingredient, I would have paid $ 7 instead of $ 9. It really didn’t make sense to me.
The deli is fine, but I really don’t have a reason to go back.

A good sandwich. Some creative sandwich ideas. Good pastrami. Mustard was hotter than I prefer, but some people like mustard that results in fumes out your nose. Ambiance was subpar — homeless people and there was this large mosquito flying around inside. Not happy smiley type of place if you’re looking for that sort of service. Was a bit over-​priced. I rank it below Ike’s.

I don’t ever review restaurants but I couldn’t resist. This deli deserves all the love they can get! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their in-​house sourdough. It is the best bread in town. That being said, I unfortunately cannot have bread anymore and this deli is so accommodating with my weird bread-​less requests. Their deviled eggs put all other deviled eggs to shame. Sometimes I have them for breakfast. Their broccoli salad and potato salad are both killer and all of their sides are reasonable. Their tuna is amazing. And the quality of ingredients is topnotch. Not to mention, most of their stuff is locally sourced. Anyone who says they prefer Fourth Street deli is a crazy person. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks Bill and Deb! Best deli sandwich in Sonoma County!

Downtown Deli is a great place to grab a quick sandwich. Bill and Matt are always good for a quick joke or two and the latest news on the Giants. Get their Perky Turkey. Also, they have gluten free bread… a rarity at most Deli’s in town. The negative reviewers of this place got it wrong. I’ve been here dozens of times and not once have I been unsatisfied. Great local business in a great location! They also do food to go for parties and events. I have ordered the day before and picked up a dozen sandwiches at noon. They got the order just right and on time.

Downtown Deli is back in business, I just wanted to update my review to reflect this. The menu is largely the same, prices have risen slightly and there is no more sandwich/​drink/​chips special or punch cards. Service is great as it always was.

Never disappointed when I get a sandwich from here. Super easy going fast place to grab a great sammy. Bill is a really nice guy and even helps support other local businesses! Can’t get much better then that. Also when you get a bag of chips and sandwich free fountain soda. That is a nice deal!

Still the same rating as the sandwiches are still tasty. The best breads to get are dutch crunch (so much crunch!) and the hard sourdough roll (again, crunchy!).
The prices were raised in the beginning of 2014, everything went up about $ 0.50.
As of late, double punches are only on Mondays.

I’ve come in here a few more than 10 times now since I just got my Free sandwich! I usually order the Viking sandwich or the Caprese. I’ve tried just about all the different sandwiches. I continue to return because of the awesome customer service along with speediness and quality. I will be delighted to depend on them for my quick lunch needs!

I called in my sandwich order at 12:05pm on a Friday. I ordered a #14 turkey caprese sandwich on Dutch crunch with pesto instead of the aolie sauce & a turkey cheddar on sour dough.
I walked in about 12:15 and my food was ready. The staff was friendly and happy. I payed $ 15 for the food plus 2 waters. Great deal. The sandwiches were excellent and I enjoyed mine out front on the nice patio.

I ordered a turkey on dutch crunch and my co-​worker got the roaring bear (chicken with hot sauce instead of BBQ sauce though). The bread and the meat seem really fresh and everyone was nice. They have a large assortment of diffeent cheeses/​breads to choose feom as well. I think there were 10 cheeses to choose from. The size was very reasonable as well. Their health code inspection that I viewed online with the county health department was pretty good as well.
I like that they have punch cards kept at the store (digitally) so I don’t have yet another card to keep in my wallet.

After having so-​so experiences at Fourth Street market I decided to check this place out for sandwiches. At first I was a little skeptical because I am so picky with sandwiches and I didn’t want to end up not being too crazy about this place. However, I liked this place alot. I have been here at least 4 times and have gotten a different sandwich each time. Today I had the Roman Holiday which was their special and it was really good. Salami, mozzerella, mayo and mustard and veggies on a toasted soft roll for only $ 6. Here is why I like this place:
— Having worked in customer service I know that good service makes all the difference… This place has great service and very friendly employees
–I like supporting local mom and pop shops
–The bread is great, I like good bread with my sandwiches
–Cookies are good and at a decent price
–Nice choice of side salads
–Deli meats and veggies are high quality and fresh
–They have stamp cards that they keep there which makes it convenient for people like me that lose everything (woohoo for supporting your regulars)
–Interesting selection of specialty hot and cold sandwiches, I like different tasty sandwiches… they deliver
–They like the 49ers
I will keep coming back to this place because they have set the bar high and I like spending my money on good sandwiches at a place where I am treated well.
