Had this brand of coffee for the first time at Atlas Coffee in Santa Rosa and now I’m hooked. I mean really, really hooked. I only drink decaf and this is best decaf I’ve ever had. Now I won’t buy any other brand. The beans are ridiculously expensive, but you can buy them from a bulk dispenser at Oliver’s Market in Cotai and save a few $$$.

Just want to register my appreciation for Ecco coffee. One of my favorite roasters EVER! You can buy the beans at Oliver’s Markets and you can buy a cup at Haven Café.

I live on the other side of the country and heard about Ecco Caffe a few years ago through an online review. I am incredibly glad that I did. I order their whole-bean espresso online periodically for my home machine, and they ship it out fresh-roasted. It is fresh, delicate, well-balanced, and not over-roasted. It has a very mild dark chocolate note to it. If you love espresso and a good, authentic Northern Italian roast, give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I couldn’t help but notice that Lee said that these were some of the best beans in the US. Oh, really? REALLY? Oh, it’s on. On like Donkey Kong. Their operation is along the lines of Equator Estates. Distribution and mail order only location, which roasts to order, and ships that day. The Single Origin Espresso Guatemala La Maravilla arrived at my door the day after roasting, but if you’re the sort that craves the freshies, local pickup’s available too(bear in mind, beans should rest a few days after roasting anyways). Their prices are a tad more than Equator’s, ranging from $ 15 to $ 20 a pound. So how’s it taste? In my cupboard right now, I’ve got two stashes of beans from Ritual(Sundae and High Striker), and Jaguar from Equator. The shot I just had from Ecco just blew ‘em all away. It might have been the stars aligning in my favour, but it was the best shot I’ve ever pulled. Just to be sure, I ground and fired out another one, and gave it to my wife. Who sipped it, gave me a wide eyed stare, and told me it was the best espresso she’d ever had. She then demanded another. I politely refused, because the world does NOT need Tracee on two double-shots. And frankly, I don’t wanna share. So there. I guess Lee S is right — some of the best in the US, no shit. Note — they are available in some Whole Foods. They don’t have Ecco’s entire range tho, and obviously the freshness isn’t as good as ordering direct.

Possibly the best coffee… I’ve ever had. I think Espresso Vivace in Seattle was almost as good. Available in espresso drinks at Centro Espresso(the coffee cart at Sawyer’s News) and in straight coffee form at several restaurants in the area. You can order super-fresh coffee on their website, and the company is run but one of the nicest and(coffee) knowledgeable people in the world. Not to be missed if you are a coffee lover.

Best coffee in Sonoma County for sure — perhaps the best in the Bay Area. Go to the Santa Rosa farmers market at the Vet’s building to get a fresh drip cup of rare and complex roasts. If you want an espresso drink — head to Sawyer’s News, where the coffee kiosk uses Ecco’s espresso.
