This place sucked. Came to have a family dinner. First they forgot my brothers drink. We have to remind the waiter. He looked very annoyed. Got an order wrong at our table. Food wasnt cooked all the way through. Had to ask multiple times for utensils and napkins. Looked even more annoyed. My boyfriend had the grilled chicken and it was cold, fat, and super chewy. Gross. Never again will I come here.

I always come here for the shrimp phở. It’s amazing! I also really like their spring rolls with the peanut sauce.

Kettles Vietnamese Bistro(KVB) is the restaurant that we often meet the rest of my family for dinner. I really like their combination phở, it is delicious! The rest of my family like their spring rolls, summer rolls, shaken beef, Korean short ribs, and other noodle and rice dishes. Although the spicy beef phở at SEA Noodle Bar tastes good, the phở at this restaurant seems more authentic. The prices are reasonable for such large portions. The service is good even when they’re busy. KVB is definitely one of the better Asian restaurants in Santa Rosa.

This place sucks. Today as I am here writing this Unilocal. The service sucks. It was my girlfriends dad birthday and they screwed up his food and my advise don’t get the grilled chicken. It’s all fat… never again will go here

This was my first time at Vietnamese Bistro, I had the fried rice, papaya salad and summer rolls. My fiancé had the sandwich. Food was well seasoned, the fried rice was super tasty, only Wish was that it was a little crispier. All around pretty good

This is a solid Vietnamese restaurant. My spouse and I went for lunch on the weekend, and we pleasantly surprised with the décor and layout of the restaurant. Our server was nice and attentive, without the slightest hint of being overbearing. Our appetizer and two entrées were definitely a cut above the standard Vietnamese cuisine you find in the area. Unlike most places which simply have a dozen versions of phở, this place has a nice diversity of items to choose from. There were so many items to choose from, we will definitely be returning.

In love with this place. We get phở at least once a week and it’s usually here. The food is soooo good and the service is always great. They never mess up our to go orders and the people are crazy nice. Good atmosphere.

Absolutely love this place. Great service, delicious food. Love the chicken & oxtail broth. Took away one star because I unpleasantly found myself crunching down on bits of eggshells in my fried rice and almost threw up. That’s how salmonella can happen, people. Other than this, very great place, just hard to forget that gross moment.

This is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Santa Rosa. Try the Phở, Spicy Beef Soup, fried rice, Bun bowls, spring rolls, and wonton soup. Everything I have tried is so delicious with layers of flavor. I am never disappointed or hungry after I eat their food! You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu in my opinion. The bonus’ are the fast, friendly, professional staff and beautiful, charming décor inside. This place is a jewel in Santa Rosa!

I wanted to update my review to talk about an odd experience we had at Kettle on Sunday, but my rating stays the same, so please look at my old review too! We were greeted by a guy at the front desk and he brought us to table, introduced himself as Dillon and told us he was our server. After he walked away, my mom mentioned to me that she thought he was very genuine and I agreed. We ordered and received our dishes and that’s pretty much where things went downhill, service-wise. Our server was gone for extended periods of time and didn’t come back to check on us. When he finally did, I had an empty glass but he didn’t offer to refill it, so I had to ask him as he whisked away. He turned back to grab my glass and ran off to refill it, but neglected to ask my mom if she wanted her, also empty, glass refilled. My mom looked bummed so I said, «I’m going to ask him to refill it when he gets back, I don’t care if he’s annoyed.» I used to be a server and my best piece of advice is: work smarter, not harder. He DID seem annoyed to have to refill a second drink. After doing so and disappearing for a very long time, he finally came by and I asked him to box our food(he didn’t offer) and when he came back, he didn’t have our check and only boxed two of three dishes, he brought a box for us to package the third dish ourselves(not wrong, just odd). He finally came back with the check a really really long time later and he kind of tossed it right in front of my mom and while walking away said, «thanks». It was so weird. All of the sudden he was either too busy to even be aware of how rude he was being, or he was angry at us. When two ladies are dining together, you should set the check in the middle, otherwise you are insinuating that there should be a reason that a specific one of the two should pay, which is rude. But what was worse was how he just like drive by dropped it in front of my mom. I reached across the table, took the check and I put my credit card in the bill fold and left it sticking off the end of the table. He never came back to get it. Finally a hostess walked by and I asked her if we were supposed to pay up front(we have never had to do that before) and she said no and that she would take it for us. A few minutes later Dillon came back with it and literally TOSSED it on the table and said nothing. TOSSED. What the actual f*ck? I still left him a 15% tip because it was so unreasonable for him to be mad at us that I couldn’t really believe that he actually was. I thought there MUST be something else going on, he must just be overwhelmed or something and totally unaware of his actions. Maybe his girlfriend was text-fighting with him — that can be very distracting. Idunno. It was so odd. The food is good and the service is usually OK, so we will go back, but it was just a very strange thing to happen and made us very uncomfortable. One thing to note is that, if you read my last review you will see my notes about the Vietnamese crêpe. I said that the portion could have been a little larger. While the crêpe is filled almost entirely of bean sprouts and could definitely have a little more protein, they HAVE increased the size of the crêpe! Thanks Kettle! It is $ 10.95 though, so maybe they also increased the price. That’s OK with me though. I still stand by my notes about how to eat the crêpe. The owner came by our table and kind of guilt-tripped us for not using the lettuce and told us it would be «healthier» that way, and I explained to him that we were used to eating it without lettuce and when you are used to something and like it that way, you don’t want to change it. He kind of acted like, «silly unhealthy Americans» but whatever. The Lemongrass chicken was quite good, I’d probably order that again. The Spring rolls(not fried) were a tad dry and the sauce a little thin, but the shrimp were flavorful. Pretty standard. We didn’t order the Shaking Beef because it’s overpriced for the portion, but it is really good, so if you want to splurge, get that, but it’s not really enough to share(or at least it wasn’t when we ordered it about 6 months ago).

Went here for the Sonoma Valley Restaurant Week. Wonderful restaurant and food! Had the summer roll which was fresh and was accompanied by a wonderful hoisin dipping sauce. The shaking beef had a lot of flavor and the salad added a nice fresh element to the rich plate. The banana rolls were good. All and all a wonderful restaurant!

First of all, how was I driving past this place every day without noticing it? It looks very unassuming from the outside, but the inside is a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. I came here for lunch and tried the salt and pepper calamari. It was so delicious. That was followed by a big bowl of tofu phở. It had a healthy serving of fresh veggies. I would love to try more of their menu offerings.

I went to Kettles for lunch the other day with family and found this restaurant to be absolutely beautiful inside, clean and the Customer Service pleasant :) I ordered Spring roles w/o peanut sauce and the food Delicious and Fresh! I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner and he was very down to earth and funny. I definitely will be coming back. What sealed the deal for me tho was Lauren the hostess who cleared a small mistake with the bill and did it in Keeping her word that she would take care of everything. .A must visit indeed!

Enjoyed the food. You can taste the quality in the dish. They use good ingredients. Service was okay they got a little slammed with traffic as soon as we got there so our waitress was overwhelmed but she was nice and attentive despite being overwhelmed. Something is off about the ambience perhaps the music or the lighting might need a little lift or change. Price was just right and I’ll be happy to be a regular.

This is some quality Vietnamese food! I ordered the vegetable stir fry with chow fun and I was unable to resist eating the entire(large) portion in one sitting. It was cooked in a deliciously savory sauce and the veggies(peas, carrots, celery, cauliflower) were noticeably fresh. I appreciated that they were generous with the tofu– it was cut in large slabs and also surprisingly tasty. My lunch companion had the spring rolls and they looked marvelous. They leave chopsticks on the table, as well as bottles of both plum and sriracha sauce. Prices are a little higher than I like to pay– my meal was $ 12– but I’d say the food is good enough to warrant an occasional splurge. Our dishes arrived quickly but they didn’t refill my water until I signaled someone and asked. Also, the restaurant had nice atmosphere but it was a bit chilly so I’d recommend bringing your jacket. It was for these reasons only that I gave them 4 stars; the food itself certainly deserved 5. I’m excited to go back and try the tofu curry– looks like it contains one of my favorite ingredients: taro root.

Lunch… so many options so little time. I loved this place. I am used to the gritty and small cash only vietnamese spots in East Side San Jose. Bistro? I always have my doubts about bistro Asian places but this spot delivers. Cute moment was when the server asked my husband if he was sure he wanted to bulgogi type ribs… clearly indicating that some of the patrons perhaps are not as savvy… I had combo bun and it was a phenomenal life choice. If you are a person who wants to try everything this is the bowl to buy. You get perfectly cooked shrimp, meatballs, and other kinds of meats. The noodles were perfectly cooked. no complaints here.

Throw those gluten-free options at me all at once and I get a little giddily. If a restaurant offers gluten-free options, there may be a mark distinguishing them on the menu. Here, it is the opposite. Everything *is* gluten-free, unless marked that it contains gluten. So, I went a little crazy with my dinner options. Appetizer: Crispy Egg Rolls — chicken with glass noodles, mushrooms, jicama, taro roots & carrots($ 6.75 for three rolls). These rolls were a new experience for me. They were crispy, but not greasy. Very good. Entrée: Shaken Beef. My favorite of all types of meat. Tender cubes of filet mignon with grilled onions. This dish also comes with mixed greens and jasmine rice($ 16). The flavor was perfect. This meal was delicious. Drink: I love anything coconut, so I was excited to try my first coconut water. This was not a good experience as I learned that all things coconut does not necessarily work out. A few sips and I was done, but serving it in a fresh coconut was cool. Customer Service: Outstanding. Our server was very good at explaining the items to us and was very attentive. Décor: Clean and modern. Bonus: No msg and they have a vegan menu. Double-Bonus: If you enjoy a glass of wine with your entrée, they offer wine paring on the menu.
