Disgusting quality, overpriced groceries and rude staff. We bought not one, but 2 small GMO watermelons for the high price of $ 14 and both were ROTTEN. Clearly they do not prioritize their food to be fresh. I will never shop here again.

This is review is not on the food(as we didn’t get to that point), but on the customer service. I filled out a catering form for Lola’s online, as I was hosting my daughter’s bridal shower for 25 people, and she requested Mexican. I did receive an email from the catering manager stating that I would be contacted shortly, which I was. I spoke with someone named Jessica, explaining what I needed and that the food needed to be gluten free, as my daughter has celiac disease. Jessica did not seem to have an understanding of what this was. I explained that gluten is found in wheat flour, and we needed to be sure that all tortillas and chips were made from corn and that they did not use any wheat flour to thicken sauces. She stated she would look into this«gluten thing» and call me back. When I did not receive a call back within several days, I decided to email her, thinking if I explained it in writing, the gluten issue would be more clear. I also mentioned several restaurants in the area who carry a GF menu that she could look at. After another several days and no response, I sent a separate email to the person listed as the catering manager. That was weeks ago, and I never did get a call or email back. I went with another Mexican restaurant instead, and they had no issue whatsoever with providing a GF menu. It surprises me that Lola’s would give up an order for 25 people without even making an effort to look into what it takes to prepare GF food. It surprises me even more that in this day and age with so many food allergens out there that an establishment serving food has no clue as to what gluten is and what constitutes a GF menu.

Lolas market does an amazing job. These people definitely know how to cook a good meal. I decided to get a torta de carnitas. The bread was fresh, the beans were well cooked and seasoned, we guacamole was homemade not from a package, the Carnitas were nice and tender and basically melted in my mouth. I was in heaven while consuming this delicious Mexican sandwich. I also decided to grab some food for dinner so I wouldn’t have to cook. I got a bolillo botanico. I was not aware of what I was in for… let me tell you, for the price of 2.99 these wonderful people give you more than you would get anywhere else for that price. The torta botanica is HUGE!!! It is a bolillo that has been grilled and they smother the inside with beans and whatever meat you would like. The outside is covered in a very spicy enchilada sauce with melted cheese. It is delicious, to say the least!!! I can’t wait to go back for more. The salsa bar consists of four different kinds of salsa and they are all very tasty. One of the red sunset is very spicy, the other one is mild, there’s pico de gallo, and they also have the guacamole salsa. They all go well with any meal item or with the chips that come with the meal. You have to try this little place for yourself or you will regret it

Lola’s doesn’t have a taqueria inside or not.(noticed an eatery by the side later) buys: 2 mex pastries, .75@(seems all pastries .75) tasted ok, doubt it’s made on site. didn’t see bakery. crumbs: –store is cramped. parking lot poorly designed…

Visited this location for the first time on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Not too busy, but very slow service. My chicken burrito arrived and the chicken was yellow, maybe had a seasoning on it? No flavor whatsoever.

Best mexican market in the area, no question. Great chile selection, wonderful marinated meats, and a taqueria to boot!

I have eaten here many times. I was extreImely disappointed tonight with the cashier, the lack of cleanliness, the lack of warmth, friendliness or customer service skills from Anna, and a rosters that had just lettuce and cubed cold tasteless chicken. I ordered a bean towards and he asked what else and I said. he asked what kinda meat and I said chicken. the order was wrong with just chicken and lettuce I told the cashier she had a very bad attitude was not sorry said nothing. about me another one I said don’t throw the first one away she grabbed it and threw it. I had to request for her to clean the filthy table.

I love this place for good Mexican products — a decent creative Tequila selection and even more soo the Grilled Chicken on the weekends. They use special spices and the chickens are 10 bucks each, fall off the bones tender — juicy and delicious. Highly Highly recommend grabbing some chicken some weekend for a picnic or just so you don’t have to cool.

This review is not for the store itself, but the restaurant. Service was slow yet they took a while for my chicken super burrito. The chicken was mediocre, lacked freshness, and not very unique in any way. The chicken was a little burnt and the additional stuff like cheese, beans, etc. tasted ordinary. Not one of my favorite burrito experiences

My in laws get all their groceries for their delicious authentic Mexican food(unlike MXN fast food or Chipotle). It’s a small grocery market with rusty carts squealing throughout the market, outdated security cameras, and full of seafood, fruits, vegetable, meat, real Mexican candy, Mexican toys, and a small corner for desserts and baked goods.

We ate at the new Lola’s #5 in Petaluma, near Trader Joe’s, which just opened last week. The little restaurant area has FANTASTIC food. As others have mentioned, the ingredients are as fresh as can be, the portions generous, and the prices moderate. I had the«combo» plate, lots of good things here. Wife had just a taco, but with rice, beans, etc. They give you a basket of chips, and the salsa bar is really good. As a bonus, you can go shopping before/after your meal for baked goods, seafood, meat, etc. You need to experience this place.

All I can say is, When mexican food can be authentic this is the place to stop. I got the #6 which is the 2 taco plate. I chose chicken as my meat garnish. This plate was soooo good, so fresh and full of flavor. The chicken it’s self was so tender and then covered with onion, and cilantro. The prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is inside a grocery store, so don’t be turned away. I think the reason why the food is so good besides fresh ingredients is that the grocery store is so close. I love mexican food, for all mexican connoisseurs out there, Lola’s is a must stop by.

We were visiting the Sonoma area when we came across Lola’s Market on Dutton Avenue. So we decided to check it out. Wow… they have a great selection of imported veggies and fruits that I’ve never seen before. We tried a few, of course. The store looks clean and the bakery has a lot taste pastries. Overall, it was a good experience. I know I will stop by next time I visit my mom in Santa Rosa.

I love getting fresh riped fruit, veggies and chile peppers you wouldn’t find at other stores. The meat is awesome quality and a good price. I have had a few items from the restaurant section and thought it was mediocre compared to the dozen Mexican restaurants that are around the corner from this place. Still I enjoy shopping her for my groceries.

Norma at Lola’s just made me exactly what I wanted. A huge amazing vegetarian burrito. And it is phenomenal!!! Better than the chicken fried steak I had at another restaurant this morning and that was unbelievable. You guys rock!!!

Thanks fellow Unilocalers! I would never have thought to get a burrito at Lola’s had it not been for the rave reviews I read on here. I wanted to try a new place on Friday(having gone to Las Palmas a little too often lately) and remembered Lola’s and what I read on here. The staff were very warm and friendly and the food was great! I ordered a carnitas«super» burrito. It was VERY good– as good, but in different ways, as the carnitas burrito at La Texanita. I normally order my burritos without rice(a habit my husband got me into) and I just forgot to say«sin arroz» this time around. So glad I did because the rice was very flavorful and really added a nice touch to the burrito. The salsa bar has 4 or 5 different types of salsa as well as limes and some other additions. I will definitely be going there again soon!

This review is primarily for the restraunt, although yesterday we ate and shopped. Lola’s is a excellent place to get a well priced huge burrito. for 5.70 my husband got the Carnitas regular… It was jinormous and delicious. I took a bite myself. Tons of meat, just the right amount of rice and beans and a wonderful salsa. Daughter and I shared a super Nacho plate with sour cream and guacamole on the side. MMM delish and it was enourmous. Huge plate piled high with beans, prob almost ½ pound of carnitas and cheese… So huge, we were stuffed only half way though so we took home the rest for dinner. Imagine 4 meals out of one plate… that works out to less than 2 bucks a meal. The chips are great and they have a nice little salsa bar with 3 kinds of salsa… They have changed the place a bit, moved the deli out of the main market and put it in the café. The flavors and freshness are excellent as well as the great prices. We shopped a bit in the market, they have great deals on vegies here… no organic, but you can tell its fresh and always well stocked. We are huge fans of Lola’s Market. if you have not tried it, its a must.

This place is great for burritos. The restaurant part is on the side of the market and it’s a standard counter service. It actually looks like some supermarkets’ deli counters with all their other prepared food there. The super burrito I got was $ 7.00. It came with a bag of chips and 3 different salsas. The green one is my favorite. Not too spicy, but flavorful. The meat, carne asada, was very tasty, nice and marinated, no grizzle. The meats here are great.

Lola’s started out as a tiny little cramped shop and has morphed into quite a destination. My grandma and family mostly stick to buying the meat here, because when in comes to fresh barbecue-ready cuts, the meat here is so damned tasty. But sometimes, they feel the need to cheat-it-up a bit and get some pre-cooked meat from the other side. They have a decent collection of other things to pick from(pantry items, bread, produce, drinks, magazines, toys, etc), but when grandma says that she wants to make a stop here, we know we’re in for good meat-eating later that day.
