Mark’s Handyman Service

I call Mark and ask him if works Saturday as today is Saturday and my aging mother just called me to tell me my even older step dad did something with the water pipes and now there is no water.
And she asked if I could help.
My help could only come in the form of calling around.
Well after making a few calls I get Mark from Marks Handyman Service.
I ask do you work on Saturday he said not this Saturday but sometimes
What can I do for you he says.
I tell him about my mom and the situation.
He says it will be a little later this afternoon but he will take care of it.
Putting a senior citizen over himself.

Called this guy because he was first on the list and had a few good reviews. I would not call if i wasnt in serious need. Two days pass, i call and say look when you get around to it dont bother calling me back. He then calls me telling me he had a very serious sit. in his family and that i am a rude, and horrible person. Really? Was that necessary? Its a business call and say this is not a good time but i will call u in a few. Its your business dude.

Whoa… gotta say, Mark and his girlfriend are awesomely skilled.
So it’s the day before Christmas Eve, and there’s a chirping. A consistent, high pitched chirping that just won’t stop. Cheep… cheeeeep…cheeeeeep. Takes me a while to finally locate the source – a smoke alarm that is in the worst position possible: about 15 – 20 feet up a high wall right above a staircase.
My puny 2 foot step ladder combined with an extending 1.5 foot marshmallow skewer are nowhere close to reaching it. I try chucking some cans at it to break it off. Nope, doesn’t help.
The chirping is driving me crazy. It’s driving my cats crazy.
I consider buying a ladder, but I have no hitch or ropes or truck to haul it back. My only other option is a handyman… but it’s already night – a few hours away from Christmas Eve, and most handymen are at home with their families, enjoying the holidays.
I call Mark, desperate for anything to relieve me of this constant chirping. He picks up (Yeesss!), and is over in about 20 minutes DESPITE being on a crutch with a fractured ankle and despite being the middle of the night during prime holiday season.
Together, he and his girlfriend lug in a 20 foot ladder, precariously balance over the steep drop of the stairwell, and totally dissemble and replace the battery in the alarm in record time. I am not even sure how he could calmly get up that high with his injury… mind-​boggling.
Afterwards, they wish me a happy holiday, he quotes me a fair price, and they’re on their way. But that’s not the end – not one day later, I receive a voicemail from Mark, checking in on the condition of the alarm and also giving some tips on changing it out earlier with a 9v battery so that I won’t have to deal with the chirping. I also receive an official invoice in the mail later with the breakdown of the costs an the date, which was great for my own records and reference.
Friendly, prompt, and genuinely honest service. Highly recommend!

Mark has done a wide variety of jobs for us while moving into our new home: assemble and install tricky light fixtures inside and out, dimmer switches, fix plumbing/​shower issues, install bathroom fixtures, hang mirrors and drapery rods, and so on. When our new pedestal table arrived 2 inches too tall, he took it to a welder who shortened it and repainted it and did a perfect job, saving the day. He is careful, accurate (everything square and level!), good at problem solving, and does excellent work overall – and we are picky! He is very knowlegable about paint, so we’ll be having him repaint our kitchen cabinets, bathroom, and accent walls. What a great find!!! Laura & Max

Mark does carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, landscaping, tile, and best of all has an amazing home garden which he is kind enough to share with others. I would recommend Mark to my friends and family.

Mark Daily has done several small jobs for me here at home over the last four or five years. He has tiled my shower, installed a new window over my kitchen sink, replaced the kitchen faucet, and repaired a leaking window in the dining room. He is skilled at a wide range of jobs. Unlike so many workers, he shows up on time, gives a realistic estimate, does what he says he’s going to do, and finishes within his schedule. I think you can trust Mark with just about any job, and if it’s outside his abilities he will say so. He has gone under my kitchen sink to replace a leaking trap, treat that cabinet for mildew, rebuild that shelf under there, and paint the whole thing. He is super reliable. I recommend him wholeheartedly.
