Wow, Michael is an amazing healer. He has been such a help to me in many ways. His skills are top notch. He is an excellent listener, understands what is necessary to allow the body to heal. I’m so impressed with his knowledge and awareness of the entire energy system, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
If you need someone who «gets it» and can help you heal, give him a call.

Micheal is such a great person, you really feel it in his presence. You almost think it must be a façade – but it most definitely is genuine. He has a desire to heal people and the community, that’s just who he is, and I feel so well taken care of in his professional setting. Micheal cares about me as a person, and he is truly excited for my healing process to continue. I appreciate him and his expansive knowledge and wisdom of the East and West medicine.

Michael was essentially my primary care provider for 8 years in Colorado. He helped me with sinus issues, digestion, peri-​menopause, muscle spasms, and more. Not only did I get help for my symptoms, but I learned so much about the Chinese medicine paradigm, which helped me think about myself better. I always enjoyed my time with Michael. He’s completely focused, smart, caring, and honest. I miss him.

Michael was my acupuncturist in Colorado until I moved in 2009. I have not met anyone I could remotely recommend as highly before nor since. He has a very wide knowledge base, is a great listener, cares, and above all, knows what he’s doing. I would think he’d be able to put anyone at ease, if the idea of acupuncture makes you nervous.
I have a complicated case, and unfortunately more than a few providers have actually caused (immediate and extreme) negative reactions (and I don’t mean a healing crisis, but someone either leaving needles in too long or overdoing the treatment, etc). I completely trust there’s no way Michael would have ever either made that error or allowed that to happen. I’ve also had completely ineffective acupuncturists. I think it’s hard to be (and find) someone truly skilled in this practice.
I can also say that I have yet to find anyone who is as informative and helpful with the dialogue. I really miss acupuncture with Michael! (I just came across his relocation to wonderful Sonoma County when looking him up in CO to maybe get his opinion, since I’m a few years out without as fruitful input…)
And as for a basis of comparison, I’ve had acupuncture in Los Angeles, NYC, Berkeley, and Colorado, and Michael is by far the best.
Next time I am in Northern CA, I am definitely going to make a stop into his practice. I suggest you do the same.

Just received a great rejuvinating treatment from Michael this morning and as someone who has been to many acupuncturists and studied acupuncture, I can say that he is by far the best acupuncturist in Santa Rosa. I have had great luck with referring people over his way and their experience has been nothing but fabulous so I decided to go in for my own treatment, not necessarily for pain, but for improving the balance in my body and overall health and I can say that I feel like I am walking on clouds. If I didn’t know where to go for acupuncture, the first place I would look is toward someone who has had experience and has traveled to China or has actual experience with true Chinese Medicine like Dr. Johnston. Thank you Michael, you have earned your place on my review list of great health practitioners.
