Michele’s Corner Custom Wedding Cakes

Michele did an amazing job on our wedding cake. We had three gluten-​free flavors and all of them were delicious. She was able to design exactly the cake we had imagined, and is also just a wonderful person to work with.

Michele does excellent work. She was easy to communicate with from the very beginning right up until the day before the wedding (when I got worried about the heat wave in October melting the buttercream). All the samples we tried were delicious, and so was our final finished product (3 layers, 2 flavors). She listened to our ideas and helped us design a fabulous wedding cake (see picture). I had very specific colors in mind, so I brought paint swatches to show her, and we came up with something elegant, yet whimsical, to go with the Lego cake topper we were planning to use. The final product looked just how I imagined it would. It was our one big extravagance. We ended up having too much since we had fewer guests than originally planned and not everyone eats cake. Michele had made it clear we could adjust the size after the RSVPs came in, but we didn’t mind having the top layer plus some left over. (After starving myself to look even better in my wedding dress, I was happy to eat her delicious cake for breakfast for a week after!) Her prices are very competitive and everything was perfect. Michele came recommended by a friend, and I plan to recommend her to anyone who asks.

We CANNOT say enough kind things about Michele and her amazing cakes. We stumbled upon Michele after getting quotes and designs from many other vendors. I was immediately impressed with both her reasonable price, her suggestions to make my cake both fabulous and cost effective, and her ability to turn my vision into a flawless design. She didn’t overcomplicate what I was looking for and really REALLY listened to my suggestions. She was patient with our adjustments and flexible in her day of delivery plans as our final timeline was hammered out.
Our final product was so beautiful and exactly what we had asked for. Our guests were blown away by both the design and glamour of the cake, but also the taste. She had given us 4 different flavors and I heard guests comment on each flavor so positively!
All in all, we would recommend her again hands down and would gladly use her again

Michele did our wedding cake and it was amazing! She was a pleasure to work with for us and people raved about how great her cake flavors were. Our wedding was 10÷19÷13, so it has been a little while, we have the top saved and can’t wait to eat it on our first anniversary. We did a different flavor for every layer and I couldn’t decide on a favorite. I highly recommend her for any kind of cake!

We’ve known this place from Unilocal!!!And i called her for making me some small wedding cake. She was so nice. We went to tested her example cake at her home office, her cake was awesome and finally we got some chocolate cake. She went to delivered at my party. Everyone like it the cake was soooo beautiful so yummmmm!!! I just wanna tell her thank you so much she was like made my dream came true

Michele was so kind and awesome when making a cake for my brothers engagement party!!! She followed all the requests we made and she delivered the cake and let us use her beautiful stand to display it! My brothers fiancé was so incredibly happy with it, I can’t recommend her enough!!! The cake is the one with the initials and roses in the pics :)

Michele was such a pleasure to work with! She was so friendly and probably the most pleasant person I worked with of all of my wedding vendors. Michele definitely helped my vision come through. The cake and cupcakes were absolutely PERFECT in design AND in taste. So often wedding cakes are dry or lack flavor but, not hers. The flavor was so delicious. I’m so happy I ordered extra cupcakes, because we were able to enjoy them the next day.

Our little wedding cake was the absolute best! It was beautiful, tasty, gluten free on the top layer (as requested) and so reasonably priced. I sent Michele an image from the internet showing exactly how I wanted the cake to look– and I think mine turned out prettier. Michele is a real professional and I would recommend her to friends. Thanks so much!

In March, Michelle did a 2-​tiered cake (white cake w/​buttercream filling on bottom and choc w/​raspberry filling on top) and adorable cupcakes for my daughter’s first birthday. The theme was monkeys and everything looked great. My only complaint (and kind of a big one) was that the white cake was stale whereas the chocolate cake and cupcakes were very fresh and moist. It was like night and day between the two. I am not sure if she makes her white cake ahead of time and freezes it/​pulls it out as needed, but it certainly was not fresh. She needs to do some quality control. We were left with basically the entire bottom tier because no one wanted to eat it, and ran out of cupcakes and chocolate cake. Also, her buttercream is on the oiler side… it leaves a film in your mouth, which I did not like. All in all, I probably would not recommend her to friends BUT the big cake, smash cake and cupcakes looked great. She was able to capture my vision and put it on dessert, and that was most of the battle. I will post pics of her work. I also felt her prices were very fair when compared to the many other bakeries I called. I just feel she needs to be more aware of her quality of her cake before sending it out the door.

Our cake was exceptionally beautiful and tasty, too! Michelle was wonderful to work with and helped us figure out what we wanted – and then turned it into reality. Highly recommended.

Michele was completely unprofessional with my fiancée and I. She gave us a quote and agreed to do our cake for our summer wedding, but then booked other clients and told us she could no make our cake… leaving us high and dry. I wouldn’t trust this place.

I hate to give a bad review, and I’m only posting this for future brides. I would suggest if you use her, call a week or two before the wedding and go over the design again incase she forgets what your cake is suppose to look like.
My review: Michele was sweet to work with, but what she sketched out for us and promised — was not what we got. The cake was supposed to have a shimmery dark gold ribbon with dusty pink flowers — and I got an ORANGE cake.
It was a nice cake — but this orange colored cake didn’t fit in with our blue/​green themed ocean front reception or matched my wedding colors which were teal/​blue and gold. I’m a little upset, since she described this beautiful gold cake that I would be getting — and I never got it.
Also I made a special wedding topper and it had a block-​style base, and I was surprised she didn’t add some kind of frosting decoration to soften the transition from cake to topper. It was like she plopped it on top and that was it. So unfortunately the wedding cake topper looked out of place and odd. Boo hoo.
Taste: The two bottom layers were the lemon poppy seed and tasted okay. But the top layer which we took to enjoy on our honeymoon (chocolate with chocolate cream and a tiramisu glaze) was screaming good! I wish the whole cake was the chocolate so the guests could have enjoyed it too.

Best cakes in town!
First of all I would suggest setting up several cake tastings with other vendors — because this is the best part of wedding planning — the cake tasting! But after you’ve had you fun, you’ll soon discover that Michele’s Corner has the best cake around. I’m not a cake person, I usually ask for biscotti for my birthday, and eat fruit for dessert, but this cake is exceptional. From the cake itself, to the fillings, to the buttercream frosting, it tastes amazing! Not only does it taste good, Michele is a true artist when it comes to decorating. I asked for 3 square layers, with blush pink roses between the layers and two small corgi figurines as a cake topper. Michele showed up about 30 minutes before our ceremony started and decorated the cake on the spot (the florist delivered the flowers earlier in the day). It was actually really nice that the guests that arrived early got to see her in action. Many cake bakers don’t like to work with a crowd, but she actually suggested it. I think it made our day more special. I’d definitely recommend Michele’s Corner Bakery!

Michelle made our wedding cake exactly as we wanted. It was beautiful and tasty, not to mention a great deal. Michelle is perfectly willing to work with your ideas and colors, and offers a tasting in her home. We looked at several bakeries in Sonoma, all of which were much more expensive.
All of our guests raved about her cake! We highly recommend her.

Michelle baked the cake at our wedding and everything about it was perfect. My then-​fiancée and I had pretty specific ideas about what we wanted in terms of frosting, fresh fruits and the cake itself, and Michelle nailed all of them, while coming in under our budget.
Highest quality product, great price, flexibility and professionalism. What else do you need? If you’re having a wedding in Sonoma County, I seriously recommend that you look into MCC.

Michele did an amazing job with the cakes for our wedding. We wanted a more custom order with 3 smaller cakes and dozens of cupcakes which she did and for an amazing price. She used our flowers and the cakes looked unreal. Her business is small, she met us in her home but I loved the comfort and ease of our transaction. I’m no fuss and she got right to what we wanted.
