Pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries and a glass of a great local wine. Wife had the bacon, lettuce, avocado, salmon and tomato(BLAST) with potato salad. Terrific example of the new menu they now offer. Definitely a place to return to and try some other new offerings – maybe for brunch.

Besides the friendly staff and beautiful location there’s not too much to this place. Food is bland, uninspiring & dull. Great location for a party though!

So this is my neighborhood. It is nice to have a place to go for a bite close by though I sure wish they were open later than 7pm but this is a“senior” community so perhaps understandable. Their food is «standard» fare, nothing fancy or gourmet. But they make a good burger, a decent reuben, some very nice large entrée salads and last night was fried chicken special and it was easily a «4» and the side of potato salad is a 4+. they have a few local beers on tap and a good variety in the bottle. Wines by the glass are limited and not particularly great. So it’s not a place one would drive out of the to eat at, but a nice addition to the community and I suspect it works just fine for the golfers at the club. I’ve had breakfast here a few times and have pretty much the same to say — decent prices, decent food, nothing to write home about but is fulfilling enough for what it is.

We had lunch in the bar on 9÷8÷14. The club sandwich was large but it had a lot of bread. The fruit salad did not look that fresh. The Patty Melt was OK but a little thin. The best part was the freshly made potato salad. Very good. The view of the golf course is beautiful and it is fun to watch the golfers. The service was OK. Once we paid the bill we were completely left alone. We would have appreciated more water and a coffee refill. So, don’t be prompt in paying the bill.

I live in Oakmont, hence my several updated reviews on the Quail inn. And now in April 2014, the previous management company was dismissed and there is almost a complete changeover in staff. The restaurant food quality, taste, prep, appearance has plummeted. My two visits this past week: Thursday dinner buffet and breakfast brunch. «Italian» Dinner buffet was worse than mediocre. Pasty, institutional tasting, even ugly presentation in the hotel pans. Breakfast buffet just a ¼ star better. Omelet station is the only redeeming aspect — And even this is not great. If your Oakmont dwelling grandma insists on taking you here, grit your teeth and prepare yourself for a unsatisfactory meal. Avoid.

Monday burgers were terrible. They were tasteless overcooked and had soggy buns. The fries were cooked in oil that had just finished frying fish or at least that’s what it tastes like. We went for the Thursday night buffet. There were a few good items and many not so good. Slightly above average institutional cooking.

Standard fare. You wouldn’t go there unless you live in Oakmont or are visiting people there. Burger night is fun and relatively cheap a fairly good deal. It’s a lovely setting and the view of Hood Mt. is wonderful. I would stick to lunch, a bite after a round of golf or their Thursday night chef’s special. Still feels like it’s about volume as opposed to the more boutique, quality restaurants one becomes used to in the Valley of the Moon. They close early. Peak dinner hour is 6:00 — 7:30.

Please let me be clear: This is a review for the diner in the golf club, and purely based on the customer service rendered. Otherwise, this is a beautiful setting for golf and other events. Our brunch was delicious when we finally received it after nearly an hour of waiting. One server for brunch on a Saturday. Sounds crazy, because it is. She was in charge of the bar and waitressing. I felt bad for her, however she clearly did not have experience in customer service or hospitality when it came to the politics of serving. We walked in at 11 and didn’t get out until 12:40. There is something wrong there. The place nearly empty, we waited while she took the order of another party who came in after us, and decided right off the bat that this wasn’t going to be pleasant. Regardless of the fact she had hinted at a personal vendetta for us because earlier had served my beau’s mom whose guest apparently skipped out of paying. That should have been a tell tale sign. His mother had no idea her dinner partner hadn’t paid and dined and ditched previously, and profusely apologized when it wasn’t even her fault. I don’t think however, she appreciated it and took forever putting our order in. The place nearly full, and getting our drink order wrong, she wasn’t scrambling to fix or host us again until the bill. We got up to get our own refill of coffee, and was charged double. My beau payed the skipped bill on top of our meal. Didn’t tip because of the double bill and left a politely strong worded note. I won’t be coming back again. This is the worst I have ever been treated in a restaurant and experienced such a blatent lack of customer service that it almost made me lose my patience(and my cool).

Go there for the Monday $ 6 hamburger nights. You can’t order the burger the way you want. It comes cooked medium with all garnish… sometimes. I guess they think that just because it is in a 55+ community, old people won’t notice the drab presentation and soggy burgers. I’ll give them another chance. Yep, old people do Unilocal…
