This place is my go to. It’s got a great small-ish pub vibe. Big enough to accomodate the crowds it sometimes gets, but small enough and dark enough to feel private. The owner is very nice. And the food! I LOVE the bangers and mash and the Sunday roast beef. Oddly, I don’t even like the beer selection that much. Wish they had a good stout, but the food goes well with any of the beers on tap. It is certainly a treat every time I come. Definitely the place to be to catch some football.

This was a great find. After several«fancy bars» I found this spot. Only beer and wine… but the simple food is wonderful. Clyde is a great bartender. Made me feel so welcome. had the fish and curry chips… ate to much. Went back the next day for lunch and got Pastys to take home to hubby. It was wonderful. Cant wait to go back. The whole staff and folks at the bar were wonderful an friendly

This place is just awesome! My hubby & I were looking for a place to have fish & chips, boy the reviews on this place were right on point! The fish was incredible! Crispy, & not greasy on the outside, & tender deliciousness on the inside. So fresh tasting. The tarter sauce was the bomb! I hate when they give you ranch dressing for your fish, instead of tarter sauce. And did I mention the coleslaw? This was the best that I ever had. The fries were good also. Loved the beer on tap, as did my hubby. It’s not a really big place, maybe ten tables, & a bar, plus huge TV’s, to watch sports on. But, it’s clean & comfortable. Also, we decided to take some coleslaw home, & two Cornish meat pasties. They came with sides of gravy. The gravy was off the hook, & the meat pasties were delicious. We also got two gooey, toffee puddings. Yum! You can’t go wrong eating here. They have other things too, like Bangers, hamburgers, etc… We will definitely be back!

I absolutely adore this place! The first time I went was on a slow random weekday. The bf and I got some lunch and the atmosphere was laid back and relaxed. I love a good dive bar but this bar is just the right amount of dive with delicious food! I’ve had almost everything on the menu now… It’s a favorite lunch spot… I haven’t had one thing that I didn’t like! Service isn’t pushy and the owner is so nice! I’ve introduced many friends that would of never had a thought of going there who now LOVE it. Ask for ice with your cider, you’ll make the owners day. :)

I’ve been here many times, usually in the afternoons on a Friday or Saturday. The food is good and the beer is great. The service on the afternoons is incredible the young waitress(who’s name I unfortunately forget) is just wonderful every time. I don’t know that enjoy coming in the evening as much though as the lights are way to low, the people are very loud and there was only one waitress for the packed restaurant. Other than that, I love this place!

We stopped here for some after dinner drinks and I like the vibe of the place. Ordered at the bar but regardless the waitress came by to make conversation later in the night and ask us if we needed anything. We’re not from Santa Rosa but we come to see our friends up here and this bar seemed to not be filled with the SSU dude-bros with most downtown bars. Good selection of beers on tap and the bartender was very knowledgeable about cider selection as well.

Nice little selection of local wines and lovely selection of beers. It’s a refreshing break from the ones that I typically see at just about every bar. We didn’t take advantage of the food because we came over after dinner but made a note to come back for a pasty or something. I haven’t had a pasty in hella long. All sorts of people inside and nice welcoming vibe.

I stopped by on a Wednesday night while on a business trip. I arrived around 7:30 pm and the place was busy but I managed to get a table. Service was prompt and friendly. I enjoyed one the night’s special which was a Scottish meat pie consisting of minced lamb and beef, combined with some spices. Absolutely delightful! The Guinness was a nice fresh draft pint. This meal made my day!

I’ve driven hours just to go back to this place again and again, what a great little pub in Santa Rosa! Good selection of beers(both on draft and in bottles) as well as ciders(Foxcraft, yumm), with traditonal British pub grub. One of the few places you can stop, and have a good time no matter the weather or time of day/night.

Have always wondered about this pub, I love an authentic pub. Came in on Friday night about 9pm… had to wait a few mins for my eyes to adjust to how dark it was inside. Bar is full, and about half the tables are taken. No one greeted us, stood there for a bit and decided to seat ourselves. After about 5 mins a waitress came over, but you wouldn’t know she was a waitress by how she was dressed, took our drink order. There were about 10ish beers on tap… the menu was standard pub grub, I was hungry and the shepards pie hit the spot, it was not great but not bad at all. I classify the Toad as a divy, dark, pub, with no freels… would I come back… Yes, with my buddies, but for me this is not a place I’d bring a female companion… oh the mens bathroom was gross and I mean gross.

What a great spot! I gotta admit, I just love the small dark atmosphere of these types of places, so I was excited when I got there. The place was fairly busy, they told us to sit wherever we wanted… but there were not seats. There was a large table that was marked reserved, but I guess it was an old sign. We got settled, ordered a round and then ordered our food. The food came out pretty quick. I got the fish and chips, because that’s what you get when it’s on the menu! It was phenomenal, the batter they use is perfect and the fries were delicious. The others in my party ordered the special and we also got a shephard’s pie, everyone was very satisfied. The Shephard’s pie isn’t the«pot pie» style you may be use to seeing, it’s more of the casserole style, where it is cut out of a large casserole, they don’t do it in it’s own container, maybe I’m the only one that expected something different, but the person who ordered it said it was yummy. I live an hour from here, but I know it’s worth making a trip back.

Yeah, this is one of the biggest things I miss about having to move closer to the city for work. When I used to live in Santa Rosa proper, I would visit this joint a couple times a month. I still get to Santa Rosa a lot, and if it isn’t too busy, I take a seat! I normally don’t rate pub style restaurants as 5-star, but this establishment really sets the bar. Awesome selection of interesting craft beers? Check! Super addicting sausage roll bites? Check! Best fish n chips in the region? Check! Curry chips? Check! I could keep checking, but you get the point. Toad in the Hole really does British pub food right. The sausage bites are so good, I’ve started making them at home with lil smokies and Pillsbury croissant dough. It isn’t quite the same, but it works until I can get my next fix. I often get cravings for fish n chips towards the end of the week when I’m ready to celebrate the weekend with a nice beer… I instantly think of Toad in the Hole. I’ve tried fish n chips at a lot of other restaurants recently, but none of them truly match up to how they do it here. If you are a soccer or motorcycle racing fan, they have that covered here. It can get busy and loud, but it’s worth it.

Great local spot with a decent selection of beers. The owner was really down to earth and made every effort to keep our glasses full. That being said; he had a busy night and it was just him behind the bar. His uncle makes the daily pasties and bangers in his press in the kitchen. Great place to catch a game, beer and authentic British food; cheers !!

Try the cornish pasty with haste! The Bangers ‘n Mash are Smashin’! An authentic pub for us anglophiles. The beer selection will make your head spin… in a very good way. I shall return hence for the fish ‘n chips!

As Russian River Brewery was super packed and had a 2 hour wait, we decided to try a different pub. The vibe is very relaxed and cozy. The staff is very friendly and charming with his thick British accent! I’m not too much of a beer drinker but my boyfriend ordered the Thistle beer(they have a pretty good selection on tap) which was pretty light on the hops, tastes almost like cider. Definitely a good find!

Such a cozy little spot! I was lucky enough to move near by and love this spot for a Sunday lunch and a pint! Seeing that my mom is a full blooded Brit, and she approves of their pasties and Shepard’s pie, I’d say this place is pretty darn authentic! They always have an awesome list of local beers on tap, as well as ciders and some beers that I’ve only seen in England. The staff is always so friendly and the owner is usually in talking with the regulars. All in all, a great local spot!
