I went to the Santee location just passing thru town on business. Ordered a 2 piece meal and while paying for my order at the drive thru I inquired about the new«Finger licking good sauce». The lady at the window«CRYSTAL» said that the new sauce was«NOT good» and that I would«have to find out for myself». Now who in their right mind would talk down their own company’s new signature sauce! I called that location and requested to speak to the manager. Well guess what… Crystal is the manager… Big time Fail. Extremely disappointed that KFC would allow her to lead a crew of employees at that location.

Pretty decent chicken. Not sure why they can’t upgrade their speaker box though, maybe join the rest of us in the 21st century. That bad boy looks like it’s from 1927. I hate drive thrus but the wife always insists on using them. The overall quality of KFC has gone down, I remember getting really excited as a little kid over seeing a bucket of KFC on the dinner table. Now it’s just… meh…slightly better than Albertsons. I think Popeyes is better now. I will say this though, the doublelicious sandwich is really good and the«go» cups are brilliant.

Really disappointed that at the beginning of 2015, some of the prices went up and some of the items are dropped off of meals. You don’t get what you pay for anymore. I wish some of the meals still included two side items.

Zero stars. My mistake for coming back. They messed up my order for the 2nd time after repeating the order correct on the intercom. Then when I try to call, the phone rings and rings. No answer. I’ve called 3 times to no avail. I will never ever come back.

It takes a lot of screw-ups to upset this hungry, hungry hippo. This KFC has gotten my order wrong three times now. I found out the wrong food was given only after I got back into the office and eagerly pulled the food out of the bag. The 1st time was forgiven, it was a big order. The 2nd time was forgiven, it was only a messed up side order. But this 3rd time, all I ordered were two sides and they couldn’t get it right. At this point, I don’t know whether to fault the employees or their intercom system. Communication with the customer should be top priority with any restaurant and this restaurant failed to implement it properly. KFC should take notes from In-n-Out and actually verify what the customer wants(by repeating them back to the customer) rather than process potentially incorrect orders. Especially with drive thrus where there’s already limited physical interaction, repetition of customer’s orders should be stated as often as possible. Edit: Came back here two more times with some co-workers. We opted to go inside so they don’t get a chance to mess our orders up. BOTHTIMES, nobody was at the register. The drive thru attendants would end up looking around calling out the employees name for a good couple of minutes. The one of the drive thru attendants ended up taking my order before heading back to her correct station. This KFC seriously needs to get their stuff together!

Okay, I am going to admit, I got draw in by KFC’s Go-Cup commercials, dammit! It never fails, I just could not help it, when I say those golden crispy chicken strips nestled in that go cup on a bed of wedge fries.( ) I the chicken strips were quite good. They had a crispy flavorful well seasoned exterior.( ) They were a little greasy but not to bad. The inside was all white meat, properly prepared, and for the most part tender.( ) The wedge fries were okay. They were seasoned well, but they were over done and on the dry side, so I did not enjoy them as much as I would of hoped. I should of asked for new ones, but I didn’t. The girl at the counter was funny, and pretty much made fun of me when I came in for a Go Cup meal, but that’s okay because I thought it was kinda funny too. The Go Cup is a very small meal. Perfect for a child or a snack for you and me.

2.5 stars So…I got suckered in by the new KFC commercials and decided to swing by to try out the new boneless chicken. I got the 2 piece meal with mashed potatoes as my side, a biscuit and a diet Pepsi. Total was only $ 5.40 which was very reasonably priced. I drove home and dug in. Here is how it stacked up. Boneless chicken– Meh… mostly hype. On other peoples reviews, the commercial etc it looks like the pieces are pretty large. Mine were a tad skimp compared to what I had seen. They give you one piece of white meat and one piece of dark. The dark meat piece was way bigger than the white but way less tasty. It felt like it was mechanically smushed together or something. It was rather greasy and bland. I would not get the dark meat again. The white meat piece on the other hand was great. It was small but delicious. If you gave me 2 or 3 pieces of the white meat stuff I would be happy. Seemed more natural too. Chicken breasts are pretty big so I can easily see them taking a whole breast filet and cutting it up and making this piece. The dark meat on the other hand… ummm…legs and thighs don’t equate to a ton of meat so however they processed that chicken to make the big piece is beyond me… I would rather not think about it ;-). Mashed potatoes– These are usually good. The gravy was tasty enough. Kind of a small portion though. only a few bites. Biscuit– Dry and hard… yuck. I much prefer Popeyes biscuits. I went through the drive through and service was quick and friendly. Will I be back? Maybe… KFC is pretty expensive without coupons etc. This meal was a really good deal at just over 5 bucks and the white meat piece was great. The dark meat piece scared me though and the stale biscuit make this exactly what it is «meh…I’ve experienced better».

On the days that I’m craving fast fried chicken, I’ll visit KFC or Albertsons. KFC’s 8 piece is more expensive at $ 12.99 for chicken only, but tastes better because of the breading. Pair that with rice, and I’m in heaven… such a filipino. No complaints on this one except that they no longer offer the chocolate parfaits. I live in La Mesa, so I think this and the one in Lemon Grove would be the closest. Oh, sorry. There’s also on in El Cajon. Weird. All surrounding cities except La Mesa has a KFC.

Asked twice for original 3 piece coleslaw/sweet corn and GRILLED2 piece with green beans /sierra mist. intercom repeated back original 3 piece coleslaw/mashed potatoes w gravy and original 2 piece mashed potatoes w gravy. I said NO about 3 – 4 times and repeated my order. drove up, paid, and left. My order didn’t even get corrected. what a sad meal. what happened to the usual girl that used to take the orders?

Double Down! I ate it!!! It tasted great. Bragging rights are mine. Normally don’t eat fast food unless it includes the 3 letters m and e and x. Won’t go back. Just had to do it. Just once. Go ahead. Try it. Don’t be scared. Oh, wait a minute… it’s KFC… yeah, be scared, be very scared.

This KFC is a perfect example of the brand and what fried chicken should be. The location is clean and the employees are friendly. The food is what’s important though and it is AMAZING here. They’ve had the same cook for at least 15 years and the consistency comes through. The side items are always fresh and taste awesome as well. The General Manager Crystal is always pleasant when I come in and say’s hello. Her leadership skills really show in the efficient way this place runs.
