Horrible customer service demonstrated by the store manager. When an employee accidentally forgot to return my flash drive to me, I called the store to have it held. I was assured it would be there for me to collect. Upon arrival to retrieve my device, 2 associates attempted to locate but were unsuccessful. The store manager emerges from the back of the store to tell me that it was my fault and I should have retrieved it from behind the associates counter. He says that regardless of whether or not I called, it must have been thrown away because they don’t keep them. Way to belittle your customers, Mr manager…

I just left this place and the assistant manager is a dream. First, he was working with an elderly lady who was confused about pricing and was walking with her to show her the correct price on paper, and she’s still acting confused – So he price matches it. Done. She’s ecstatic and shocked and it was pretty cute. He catches my eye and tells me that he’ll be right with me. I have a small question and he walks me over to where the item is supposed to be and isn’t. He then figures out a solution and jokes, ‘I think outside the box.’ Yeah, he does. I wish I would have caught his name, this review seems incomplete without mentioning him. I have worked in sales for years and I am not demanding and like to help myself, and I am also not easily impressed with the way that average sales associates(including managers) aren’t very helpful let alone, exceed(fairly high) expectations. Today I write this review because the assistant manager has superior customer/people skills and I will be back for all of my office needs. Seriously, he should probably be at Nordstrom where they expect that kind of initiative – I never would have thought to receive that kind of help at a office supply place. I wasn’t even spending thousands of dollars, but it makes me want to return the laser printer that I just bought from the ‘other’ store and replace it with one from here.

HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE! Four people waiting in line and the cashier(Marcella? Marissa? Marielsa?) I don’t know… anyhow she had clearly finished ringing up a customer who had all her bags in the cart and they were literally standing there chit chatting… FORALMSOTFIFTEENMINUTES! Not about relevant office supplies… about what school they went to etc. the other people in line were furious that the convo kept going. One even said«hello we are waiting» which was ignored. The next in line finally walked up to the register and places his items down and they STILL continued to gossip/chit chat. Absolutely ridiculous and AWFUL costumer service. No customers were at the copy desk and sales clerks were walking around the store… yet no one acknowledged this complete lack of customer service. I will be traveling to the El Cajon branch from now on

We went in looking for school supplies. My boyfriend was going to try out the sharpies they have out to try and a man yelled at him to not write on it. Very rudely. Instead of saying sir, can you please not write on there. He yelled do not write on that, like he was a child. I have worked in customer service and that is not how you are suppose to approach customers. We left immediately and will never give service to that office depot again.

Went to Office Depot today(SANTEECA) 4−8−14 pricing printer ink. I was approached by a female sales clerk with brown shoulder length hair carring a clipboard who asked if I was finding everything. I told her yes and asked if they would price match Costco on printer ink. She told me yes on a identical item they would. I then proceeded to tell her the Costco price on a two pack item and she said if they carried a two pack item they would match the price. She never offered to look for the same item in stock and was not interested in listening to the Costco price, so it appeared. She should of looked for the identical item and compared pricing for me and not left it up to me to look for the stock number. I really got the feeling she was disturbed by me asking for a price match had I located the item… she walked away not helping and kind of shaking her head from side to side in disgust, so it appeared… Well, I walked out without looking for my printer ink and ordered it through Costco via my smart phone from my car. I also compared pricing via the internet and Costco had exceptional pricing and free UPS delivery with 3 day delivery to you’re front door. I won’t be going back for anything any time soon. THAT’S IT…

Back in April I was in the store looking for a green pen to go with my new green book. I was having trouble finding one and Alyssa found like.five.for me to choose from. She was amazing and totally went out of her way to help me. Thanks Alyssa! Oh and I was so impressed with her service I kept my receipt with her name on it in the book I also bought and just recently found it. Still remember her great services three months later.

I don’t usually review stores like this on Unilocal, but after visiting the store(and being a bit apprehensive after seeing a 1 star average) I felt compelled to represent the likely majority who are completely satisfied with the store. We were approached by two different, very friendly employees while shopping for desk chairs. As soon as we made up our mind a salesman quickly got the item from the back and put it by the front register for us. The cashier(Alyssa was her name) was very nice and friendly. I couldn’t have been more satisfied with a trip to an Office Depot, it’s too bad it seems a few pissed off reviewers are the only ones to rate these stores…

I used to love this Office Depot and drop tons of cash on fun pens, specialty papers, and office organization. The recent remodel left the store a cryptic maze of supplies jumbled in with random candies and accessories. I cannot find anything without walking up and down every aisle. The signage is minimized and the sales floor shrunk(inventory and space). It looks like a fly-by-night operation rather than a national chain.

I’ve made a couple visits into this location, and honestly, the service sucks. Walking through the store, it’s nigh impossible to find an employee to help you, I swear they’re literally hiding. You walk around for ten minutes to find what you’re looking for, discover that the price is frankly not very good, and as you walk out, you spot between four and seven employees literally just SITTING on the front counter(Who weren’t there before), saying ‘have a good day’ as you leave. Seriously the service is awful. I’d love to see the security footage explaining how they all materialize by the exit once you’re ready to leave. My business will always be taken elsewhere.
