Great clam chowder and awesome alligator tail, but the service is terrible and all of the other food was freezing cold and tasted freezer burned. Nothing in that restaurant is good besides the clam chowder and alligator. Wouldn’t even recommend this place to anybody not even my dog!

The only food we ended up ordering here is the Clam Chowder. We tried the other items over the years and they are average at best. The wait staff are NOT friendly. We eat there several times in October & November each year and find it consistently the same. They wait staff remains the same. They will not get a tip because they do not EARN one-SORRY !

Frequent Florida travelers here: We ordered a spicy seafood gumbo to go and got some red spicy soup with imitation crab and chopped celery in it. What ?? No sign of fish, no clams, no shrimp. We also asked if the soup was mildly spicy and they said: we don’t know, everyone has a different taste. This was not a seafood gumbo it’s a red spicy«fish» soup w crab sticks . We also ordered captain Curts platter and it was ok. We are not impressed !

Food was outstanding, waitress didn’t bring oysters we reminded her and instead of saying she forget them she said they were backed up. Truth would have been nice. We had our dinners and then the appetizer came. Didn’t like the lying of the waitress

Good spot. Food is okay, but overpriced for the quality. The clam chowder is amazing! A must-have if you go here. The gumbo is also very good, if you like a little spice. Their sister restaurant next door(Sniki Tiki) has a better«beach» atmosphere. Outdoor and indoor with good live music. I would say this is a good spot for drinks, karaōke, and snack food, but wouldn’t do dinner here.

Its such a shame that a prime location bar is probably the worst restaraunt/bar ever. I live right near here so its usually the spot my friends/visitors will stop by for a bite/beer. Everytime i’ve been here the staff are extremely rude and literally roll their eyes or sigh or stomp around. Including the d-bag bartenders. And even the kareoke guy is mean. Everyone ive ever experienced in this place has not been friendly or accomodating to me. The tables are always sticky and floors are gross. Clam chowder isnt even that great. I really wish this place went under new management and they could get a little better recognition. Im not the only one that thinks this place is an absoulute waste of time and money.

I have eaten fried oysters in many many places from Maine to Key West and so far, THESEWERETHEBEST! Also, we tried the award winning clam chowder and it beat many New England area chowders. Fresh food, reasonable prices, good beer selection. If you come to Siesta Key, don’t miss this place!

Karaōke DJ is awesome and does a great job! Dave does Karaōke Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 9pm till 1 am, some people bring instruments while doing the karaōke! People come from all over and some are very talented! Even the owners come and sing along!

We had the clam chowder, raw oysters and steamed clams. The clam chowder is pretty good and has lots of clam in it. It’s is also on the buttery side which could be a good or bad thing depending if you like butter. Clams were just ok as were the oysters. The clam broth was a bit too lemony for our taste.

Great food. Great staff. A bit outdated, but it works. My favorite place on siesta key so far.

Great location. Drinks are good. We loved the food and the prices are pretty good for a resort town. I tried the fried shrimp and my husband had fish. We were lucky and missed the crowd and found parking! Very casual place.

The clam chowder is the BOMB! You can even buy cans of it to take back home with you. Other than that the food is decent. We visit Sarasota we usually go here first thing(it’s in within walking distance of the area we stay in) and get a big bowl of soup. But, please, tell other people at the table that’s why you’re coming. Otherwise, the other people at your table are just going to get mediocre food. One other night we usually order soup to go and stay in. Service was decent, nothing spectacular. It took us a while to find our server after being seated. And on another day when I ordered soup to go, I was directed to pick it up at the bar, where the bartender was on the phone(maybe to a customer?) for over 10 minutes. I finally asked a server to hand me my order that I could see behind the bar and left my cash on the bar and left. Many staff members walked by and saw me waiting and just kept on walking. Super frustrating when you order a to go order.

I have eaten here for a number of years, both in the sniki tiki bar and in the restaurant. The food is very good and reasonably priced. We really like the line up of music and this is what has brought us in over the years. Seafood is fresh and well prepared. Prices are a little lower than some of the other seafood places in the area. This is a fun place with good service and a wide variety of alcohol choices. Check out the schedule to be here when the entertainment is playing. IT makes you really feel the tropical spirit.

The New England clam chowder was phenomenal! My wife really enjoy her lightly breaded fried shrimp basket and the grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich was awesome!

We go here every time we are in FL. Love the fresh seafood, great service and experience. It’s not divey, but clean, open and welcoming. Patrons keep to themselves so you can def have a convo and not have to shout. Highly recommend!!!

We had the grouper sandwich. It was just ok. The muscle O’Brian special was good! Service was good. Probably would not come back. Kinda pricey for the value and some healthier options on the menu are needed.

When we stayed at Sea Shell back in June, the owner of the unit recommended this restaurant. Our initial reaction was food is not good and it looks so dark inside. On our 2nd night, we decided to just cross the street and maybe give this restaurant a chance. Glad we made that decision! Clam Chowder was amazing, raw oysters was good and the Alaskan King Crab taste fresh and delicious! We finished everything and we are so full! We love the food that on our 2nd visit last weekend(even though we stayed at LongBoat Key and its 9pm already) we got out of the resort and drove here just to have the clam chowder(don’t leave the restaurant without trying this), Alaskan King crab and oysters. You can even order online to have your clam chowder kit shipped to your home. The restaurant doesn’t have the best server in town but food was really good and price is decent. Parking here is very difficult because they are located in a small lot and you cannot park across the street unless you want your car to be towed.

The grouper platter was good. The salad on the other hand was not as advertised. It was supposed to be mahi mahi on a bed of fresh greens. Well the properly cooked fish came out on a bed if ice berg lettuce. The fish was good the lettuce was disappointing.

Was recommended by a friend to try the clam chowder, it’s won awards. It was very good and the thickest I ever had, but my sister and I really enjoyed the conch fritters, we used to stay on Summerland Key, close to Key West and one year we went on the hunt for the best conch fritters, Well we found them on a key but it was Siesta Key. Captain Curt’s was a little confusing on which door to enter so we asked out friendly waiter. The have a family area, a sorts/karaōke area and a a Tiki Bar area. The menu may be limited at a the Tiki? I would go there again. They are located towards the middle of the key, not in a Siesta Village.

Right when we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff. I knew my husband would want to watch games so we requested to go to the back room«saloon» tvs everywhere! And it is march madness so… I started with the clam chowder(so good) I couldn’t decide so had both the conch fritters AND the spicy crab bites(hey I left a couple) they were delicious. The atmosphere is friendly and I had their margaritas… Which were only $ 4.75 by the way. Actually prices were great for the service and taste. Will come back!
