On vacation from California and looking for a good Cuban sandwich. Found this deli on Unilocal so gave it a try. The food was great but I was even more impressed with the service. Had the kids with us and they were very accommodating. Seems like a great neighborhood deli with friendly service. If I lived here we would be back often. Will try to squeeze in one more sandwich before we leave.

The Cuban is very good, we are always pleased with the food. Our only complaint is we wish they were open later.

The Best Sandwiches and the best value… EVER! You can feed a family of four for 10 Bucks… don’t get any better than that

OK, so I’ve now been here twice in the last week and I fully prepared to become a regular. These are good people, making a very good sandwich at an incredibly reasonable price. I’m not going to claim that it’s the best sub in Sarasota, but it definitely appears to be the best value in Sarasota. I usually find it difficult to place a single $ sign on almost any restaurant. Not only can a person eat a really good meal(sandwich, chips and a drink) for under $ 10, I am pretty sure you could feed TWO people here for under $ 10(minus the chips). That is almost unheard of in this day and age other than McJunk Food or Bluber King. I’ve had the Double meat Italian 12″ sub. .. a ton of food for only $ 6.99 on the daily special and a regular 6″ Roast Beef sub made to my specifications for only $ 3.99 at their everyday price. They use only Boars Head meats and are happy to prepare it the way you like it. There’s a bunch of options that I haven’t tried yet but suffice to say, I will be. It’s not fancy, it’s not cozy but it’s likely the best value restaurant I have found in a long time. I have a feeling that as soon as more people find out about Daddy’s Deli, I’ll be waiting in a MUCH longer line to get my lunch. :-)

Daddy’s Deli is a tiny little sandwich shop on Lockwood Ridge, just North of University Parkway. I was here on a Monday, so I tried the $ 3.99 Cuban Sandwich Special — it needed more cheese and bread. But, it was only $ 3.99 for a huge hot pressed Cuban sandwich with a little sprinkle of garlic salt, so I really should not complain. I looked around and all of the tables were full of happy regular customers. Each sandwich even comes with a few pickle spears. All of the meats are Boarshead, also noted by other reviewers and the prices are about 20−30% lower than the cheapest chain of sub shops. Now, I want to come back and try the Italian sub to see if that sandwich is skimpy on the meat as well. Get your drink out of the fridge and your chips off the rack. I did not see any combo pricing. Eating at Daddy’s is like going to someone’s house and they make you a sandwich, bare hands and all. Nothing fancy.

My husband swears by this place. They use all boars head meat and their prices can’t be beat!

Small, locally owned deli. My Cajun Cuban was tasty but not as Cajun as I expected and preferred but still very good. Prices were very reasonable.

Discovered Daddy’s Deli by talking to other local food establishment employees. I asked where they ate lunch and many told me Daddy’s. Love their daily specials, but especially the Italian subs on Wednesday and Friday. Also breakfast rocks. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

If you are looking for a delicious sandwich at an unbeatable price, we highly recommend Daddy’s. It’s clearly a favorite of the locals which is always a tip off. We loved the corned beef and the Thursday special Cajun Cuban. Friendly staff a plus too.

A simple sandwich shop/deli has arrived in the strip center at Tallevast Rd and Lockwood Ridge, right next to the Lazy Lobster. Its simplicity and very reasonable prices are what make it a great neighborhood find. This is a breakfast and lunch place(open 6AM — 4PM) with about a dozen deli sandwich choices that can also be made as 6″ or 12″ subs. They tout their Classic Cubans but we both opted for their Reuben(large @ $ 4.99) sandwich. Nicely prepared using Boar’s Head brand meats they also offer Egg, Tuna, and Chicken salad. All their sandwiches have a few bread choices with the Reuben served on nice round slices of Marble rye. We enjoyed our lunch very much. Their all day breakfast choices are as simple as the sandwiches; all the usual sides for eggs along with biscuits and gravy(large order $ 3.69 /small $ 1.99) and breakfast sandwiches from $ 2.79. You’ll pick-up your order at the counter and clear your own table. If your looking for something on a Croissant or sun dried tomato with a slathering of pesto sauce look elsewhere. This is a traditional sandwich shop mostly for takeout as they have just four tables. The owners have a quick hello and you get a family feeling in the place. Regulars and new customers are easily welcomed and they make it clear their willingness to customize anything you want. They have over 20+ years experience running this type of food operation and have good quality sandwiches, very fair pricing and a friendly atmosphere, plus you get to support a local small business. What more could you want?
