To be clear, I’m of part Chinese descent, and Far East(and other similar places) are not really Chinese food. I think the best description I’ve ever read for this kind of thing is New York style Chinese, and it’s on those standards, those«General Tso’s Chicken» standards that I’m judging Far East, not traditional Chinese food. I make this point not just to say that I am a Chinese food snob, but also because if you were to go to Far East and scope the menu, you would find among the American Chinese stuff some actual hints of traditional food, like roasted duck. I’ve been a few times, and they have never actually had roasted duck, just the regular American Chinese food, so don’t go expecting«real» Chinese. As an American, fortune cookie Chinese place, it’s OK. The ingredients are reasonably fresh, but the General’s chicken was overly sweet, as was the Sesame Chicken. I couldn’t find any crab in the crab rangoon. Prices are also uncomfortably high given the food. I went back wanting to love the place since it is not far from where I live, but unfortunately, this place is a no-go.
