This was our first year to get lobsters for Christmas Eve in Sarasota and they were fantastic! So much better than what we get in Annapolis and a far better value. We ordered 2+ pound lobsters a few days beforehand and they were ready and sized as promised. We ate lots of lobster in Maine last summer and these lobsters were every bit as good. We steamed them ourselves and, while that is something of a hassle, it was well worth it as they were steaming hot when we wanted them. The service at Lotsa Lobster is friendly, knowledgeable and professional and, despite the crowds on Christmas Eve, it was «service with a smile». A great discovery made this year while in Siesta Key!

Picked up some white gulf shrimp from here this week and it was fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly, honest (a rare quality in fish markets here), and knowledgeable. They do custom call ahead orders as well. This is the best local seafood market I’ve been to here in Sarasota.

We travel all the way from Lakewood Ranch and well worth the trip

Very fresh seafood here! We bought lobsters and shrimp for our crab boil and they tasted so good. We will be going back very soon. The prices were better than the grocery stores.

My family was staying at the Siesta Key area for vacation last week and was craving some fresh seafood. We’ve searched around Unilocal for places around like Starfish Co., some fish market next to that one, and Big Walt’s. But they all turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. We approached the Lotsa Lobster last because it was closest to our area, and it turned out to have one of the best, fresh seafood I have ever seen and tasted. First of all, it was clean, and the environment wasn’t dirty or anything. Secondly, the workers were really friendly, nice, and helpful. We asked few questions about things to do and all, and they helped us out. I highly recommend this place for seafood!

Friendly people with a great lobster takeaway place, and they will steam and crack for you, if you ask. I called in my order, and stopped by New Years eve, and they were busy with people, but had my order ready, right on time. Took those two pounders home and ate them. Delicious. They fly them in from Maine daily. A little New England right here on the west coast of FL! You can park right at the front door, it’s take out only, a small narrow spot, but what they put out was good lobster. Havent had anything else there, but I’m going back.

Agreed. Best seafood I’ve found in a while. Just had 3 of the freshest and feistiest lobsters since my trip to Maine. They actually kicked the pot off when I dropped them in! Publix lobsters don’t do that. Cheaper and better. Period. Plus, the variety of fresh fish is unparalleled.

Great and very friendly owners and staff members.
The pricing is very reasonable, especially when nothing comes in frozen or pre-frozen.love the crab cakes too and its the only seafood market you can consistently purchase Chilean sea bass OH YEAH BABY, That is correct, you read it right. The Chilean Sea Bass; the best piece of fish you’ll ever have in your life. Love it baby just Love it. Oh yeah they have lobsters too, LOL :-)
