All appearances aside, this little place is shockingly good. It is located in an abandoned little strip of empty stores with naught but one yokely bar on the corner for company. While waiting to pick up your take out your ears will be delighted by the dulcet tones of north Sarasota’s finest locals discussing current events, and the size of their truck tires. The inside isn’t exactly dazzling, so order your food to go or have it delivered. If you aren’t in the mood to count trucks in the parking lot or admire the sweatpants of the women standing in front of the bar smoking opt for delivery. They deliver to north Sarasota, but we only live a minute away, so delivery seemed exceptionally lazy. The crab rangoons were particularly good. I always order them when we try a new place, and am almost always completely disappointed. So often the filling is too dry, or lumpy, or tasteless, or some pathetic combination of the three. These had smooth, creamy, and flavorful filling, and were cooked for the perfect amount of time. Win! My fiancé chose the sesame chicken, and I had the chicken with broccoli.(We keep it simple when we try a questionable place for the first time) I thought the sesame chicken was great! The cook is skilled with her usage of seasonings, and it truly added to the flavor of the dishes. A lot of Chinese places rely heavily on MSG, soy sauce, and massive over salting, but the dishes we tried were not like that at all. The sauces stood out, and it was clear that fresh ginger was used, so kudos for that. The portion of sesame chicken was somewhat smaller than the two of us are accustomed to, but it was enough for dinner for one. Usually, we have enough leftovers for a full lunch the next day, but there remained only a small amount of my chicken with vegetables and rice left. We will certainly go back to this place to sample some of the more adventurous menu options.

I love this little place — it delivers to N. Sarasota — but that’s not its best attribute — they have delicious food! Great Pad Thai, delicious and spicy General Tso’s chix(with stir-fried chicken, not breaded and deep fried! yay!) and totally delicious and fresh steamed dumplings. Good soups, inexpensive dinner combos(under $ 6) that include an egg roll, and friendly service. Great little place in a sad an pathetic strip mall, but don’t underestimate their quality for a reasonable price! Great Chinese food for SRQ!
