Amazing food the Italian sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever had, also the staff are very friendly and accommodating.

I love to walk into an Italian restaurant and it spells like Italian food! I knew whatever I ordered would be great. Got a sub with tuna, capers, grape tomatoes, red onion and olive oil. I have never had anything like this and it was so DELICIOUS! Great, nice employees as well.

Where do I even start! This place is a local gem in Sarasota — you won’t find fresher or more authentic, homemade Italian food anywhere in town, I guarantee it. Everything they serve is made to order and ingredients are bought fresh from a local market every morning. Sometimes you can watch them prepare their signature Eggplant Parmigiana, Meat Lasagna, or hand-rolled Meatballs right in front of you — and of course, their hand-muzzed mozzarella! If you catch them in the middle of this salivating process, they pass out samples of hot, gooey, fresh mozzarella, and it’s poisoned me ever since! I can NEVER eat store bought mozzarella again. I’ve definitely been spoiled. The staff are some of the most friendly and heartwarming people you will ever meet. Each and every one of them go out of their way to accommodate your cravings and needs. They treat you like family and by the 2nd time you visit(because believe me, you will be back) they know your order by heart. It is such a relief to get such awesome service in a town where I have had so many bad experiences with restaurant service! These peeps go above and beyond! The atmosphere is so perfectly fitting, you just feel right at home(especially if you have any Italian in ya! :). The décor is cozy and the oldies music is always on point. And on another note, they also offer an OUTSTANDING catering service. Some of the most delicious dishes; authentic recipes passed down through their family. Mike goes out of his way to make sure you get the most for your money, and fits your taste buds accordingly! If you live in the area or are just visiting from out of town: THISSPOTIS A MUST-HIT. I promise you won’t be disappointed!!!

Very good Italian sandwiches. Parking can be a challenge, but if you like classic Italian-American subs, it’s well worth it!

I work at a firm on Main Street and thought I would give this place a try. I’ve heard great things about it. My entire firm loved their food. We all got the sandwiches for lunch. I got the fresh mozzarella sandwich and it was heavenly. I got busy at work and had to eat my delivered food 4 hours later, so I had to warm it up in the microwave; but let me tell you. It was not the least bit soggy! Most sandwiches after a while of sitting, get really soggy, but not this one! Loved their food so much that I called them up, just to tell them how much we enjoyed it, and that the firm will be a frequent customer :)

Stop what you’re doing and get your butt down to Mozzarella Fella! Being two Italians from Philly, me and my friend are very critical when it comes to Italian food, so going into it, I was a tad skeptical. We got there around 8pm and they told us they were out of bread(booo. but! it’s because it gets served fresh to them every morning and when they run out– they run out for the day– so i can’t complain too much!). We opted for the eggplant parm and the chicken parm. HOLYCRAP. amazing. dare I say— better than my moms?! yes. i said it. because, ITWAS. portion sizes are perfect and the flavor is divine– I felt like I was in Italian heaven, while floating on the freshest mozzarella in town. I still can’t get over the eggplant parm– it was so good! too good! I want to eat that everyday. The chicken parm was seasoned so so well and was nowhere near dry. The customer service was great. Nick was willing to work with our indecisive selves and was ultimately just super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is clean, and super cute with all of the italian and NY inspired signs and décor. It is very small however so I wouldn’t take a group bigger than 5ish there. Super impressed and will definitely be going back!

Absolutely delicious. What a great find on Main Street Sarasota. Wedding soup, lasagna, and eggplant parmigiana… Some of the best we have had. Can’t wait to go back and try of the other authentic dishes

Where do I begin? Well my girlfriend and I planned a little mid-day lunch date and wanted to try somewhere we haven’t been before. We live nearby downtown and decided to see what fare we could encounter nearby. She had mentioned she had a craving for a meatball sub, and what kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn’t choose somewhere that had what she wanted! After some Unilocaling, as it were, we decided on Mozzarella Fella. We set off to find this little gem along Main Street. Upon arrival, we found parking right out front, in the shade no less! The trip had started off excellent. We walked in and were instantly greeted by a friendly guy behind the counter(didn’t get his name) we just wanted to look around and take all of the art in but we were hungry! We took a look at the glass case which was filled with deli meats, cheeses, Italian sausages/peppers, prepared lasagna slices(and talk about portions!) and so on. She knew what she came for and ordered the Meatball Parmigiana. I debated over the menu for a moment and ultimately settled on a Classic Italian because how could I go wrong! I added Roasted red peppers to my sandwich, and my date took hers as it comes. We picked a nice spot over on the bar facing the window. The wait was not long and made for a chance to gander over all of the cool art and New York memorabilia. I loved the«Speak Italian with your hands» posters on the walls. Hilarious. No fountain soda here but they did serve Coke by the can and they do stock my personal favorite, Vanilla Coke. The guy brought our food right out with a smile, and as we received our food the restaurant started filling up. I took one bite out of the sandwich and was instantly blown away. Wow! What a flavor, the bread was warm and held up well against the Italian dressing and all the veggies. The roasted peppers were phenomenal and I recommend adding them to your sandwich if you like peppers. The meat was incredibly flavorful and plentiful. fresh veggies, the perfect sandwich! My girlfriend was happy to say that Mozzarella Fella has the best Meatball Parmigiana sub in Sarasota. Period. The meatballs were very flavorful, thoroughly cooked in the center, the sauce was robust and exactly what you’d expect to find paired with the best meatballs around. We were happy to find they do sell their Mozzarella by the container so we could bring some home with us, but we feel this will be a new lunch spot to venture to, not to be spoiled by bringing it home with us. I will recommend this place to all of my friends.

Stopped here to get a sandwich before we went to the beach. Very friendly staff, told us about the sandwiches and how everything is made to order. We ordered the fried calamari and chicken parmesan. They make their mozzarella in house. Chicken parmesan was good but I think the fried calamari sandwich stole the show. Might have to stop again before we leave

This sandwich spot is truly excellent! My partner had a chicken sub with caramelized onions and I had the meatball parmesan. The mozarella is made at the store, multiple times a day, and you can taste that in the sandwiches. The food was a little pricy, but once you consider the quality it is well worth it. On top of the delicious meal, the man behind the counter was very friendly and helpful!

Well, being from Philly, I had a feeling I wouldn’t be super impressed. My mom was craving a meatball sandwich so we went anyway. For starters, the place is nice and clean. We were greeted as soon as we came in and service continued being great until the end. I ordered the Italian hoagie and of course my mom got the meatball. Both were okay but not for the money spent. Amaroso rolls really would have improved the 2 sandwiches and we both didn’t experience a burst of flavor. On a better note, the meats on my hoagie did taste fresh.

I gave him the name and concept for this business because he said he needed one, the real estate guy to help him find a spot and a resturant guy to help him get started. As soon as he got it going he cutoff contact and reneged on the deal we had. A real stand up guy. Now he’s saying we never had a deal. I gave him the concept. The name. Crazy Joe mozz the mozzerella fella. The real estate guy to help him find a spot and his brother who I’d well connected in restaurants in Sarasota. Both dear friends of mine. BTW I was Vito on the Sopranos but was a chef before an actor. Mikey is a weasel

A small family owned, cozy atmosphere and fresh ingredients make this place a must visit when in Sarasota. Everything is made in house, serving handmade sandwiches, pasta and salads. I have the fried calamari and have not been disappointed. The chicken parm was good too! Service was very good. The décor is very interesting.

Let me just say, since I went to Mozzarella Fella, all I have been doing is telling anyone that will listen about it! I of course, checked on Unilocal before we headed to Siesta Key Beach and I came across Mozzarella Fella. It instantly caught my eye just because Mozzarella was in the name! We opted to get a Prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich and a chicken with roasted pepper, mozz and balsamic. Both were AMAZING. The ingredients were all so fresh and the Mozzarella was unlike anything I had ever tasted before. I also loved the décor. The place is covered in NY inspired signs and Italian sayings and such! I only with the owner would come back to NY where he’s from and open up another Mozzarella Fella!

This is a review for Mozerella Fella’s lunch menu. There a couple of good options for lunch here in Sarasota, but if you are looking for a no frills, authentic Italian place that won’t break the bank your options are somewhat more limited. Thankfully Mozerella Fella is within walking distance of central Main Street and offers a great selection of salads and marinara covered goodness. My favorites are their eggplant rollatine and their eggplant parm sandwich. The house salad is sizeable, offering fresh greens and above average fresh mozzarella cheese, spiced generously. The place is a little lively during lunch hours and the jazz music is always playing the hits, which is fine for a guy like me. Check this place out the next time you want more than your average lunch fare!

It was our first time at this restaurant, didn’t know what to expect and my family is very indecisive when it comes to picking food, Chassidy(our waitress) was veeeeery patient, explained the menu and answered all the odd questions we threw at her with a smile. Restaurant: small corner store with at most 10 tables and about 5 – 6 bar chairs overlooking the street side, shelves with items for sale such as pasta sauce, Italian beer and pasta … Food: fried calamari was amazing, according to my wife, and so was the tomatoe sauce that came with it. Kids pasta(added a meatball for a little extra money) was delicious according to my 10 year old. Roast beef wasn’t enjoy by my 13 year old, her feedback was«it was just a little greasy». I ordered an eggplant parmigiana sandwich and it was exactly what I expected, delicious. We also ordered a side of French fries for an additional $ 3.00 and it was devoured in a quick two minutes, yep, it was that good.

Décor: 4⁄5 –Very limited seating, don’t come with a party larger than four. There is only one table for 6. Service: 5⁄5 –Friendly service, they prefer cash but also accept credit card –Charged us for 2 drinks, we got 4 drinks. Thanks! Food: 4⁄5 –11. Eggplant Parmigiana $ 9.50 — Great tasting eggplant, could use a tad bit less sauce. A great choice if you’re looking for a soft bite. 4⁄5 –13. Veal Cutlet Parmigiana $ 10.50 — large piece of veal that overhangs the bread. This was a very tasty sandwich. Highly recommend. 5⁄5 –18. Fried Calamari $ 9.50 — calamari was not as crispy and drenched in sauce. 3⁄5 –20. Fried Veal Cutlet$ 12.50 — comes with balsamic vinaigrette. I personally didn’t like this but Unilocaler Tiffany D liked it. 3⁄5

Oh. My. Goodness. This place is a hidden gem. This is one of the many places on our vacation that we visited and it was definitely one of the top places we ate at. Most of my friends and family here didn’t even know it existed! The food is phenomenal. It’s not a fancy restaurant where you’re wined and dined. It’s a simple deli style that works tremendously. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted with a loud and friendly welcome by a staff that’s ready to answer any questions you might have. Since it was our first time here we had tons of questions, annoyingly basic ones I’m sure, that they gladly answered for us. I ended up ordering the Classic Italian. I consider myself a sandwich guy. I love sandwiches and I’ve eaten tons of them from tons of different places. High end to local eats, but this one was just so good. It’s a solid sized sandwich and it’s packed with prosciutto, salami, pepperoni, onions, etc. It is a blast of flavors that work really well together, and at less than $ 10 it’s really a steal. The place was steadily busy from the time we walked in to the time we left. It doesn’t seem to be easy to get a table, but most of their customers looked to be local businessmen grabbing lunch to go. If you haven’t seen this place, I can’t blame you. It’s a hole in the wall that doesn’t draw your attention. But this is one of the best hole in the wall restaurants you’ll ever find.
