Good Salsa, Good Service, Good Food. The Margaritas were pretty standard, but I ordered the Street Tacos Carnitas and they were awesome. Prices were ok.

Good Mexican food that tastes pretty authentic. We were served warm tortilla chips and salsa right as we arrived. We ordered the queso fundido to start and it was very good! I had the flautas deluxe with 2 beef and 2 chicken, very large portions. My boyfriend had the tacos rancheros and also has only good things to say. It was fast and friendly service. We would definitely eat there again!

The best Mexican restaurant in Sarasota. Chicken enchiladas are stuffed with flavorful chicken breast. Chile rellenos are excellent. Most items can be filled with shredded beef, ground beef or chicken. Very flexible. Lunch combos are a bargain and serving size is generous. Highly recommend this great restaurant.

Dirty and not the best or anywhere close to it. I had high hopes but I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

A favorite of mine. Taco Tuesday is my favorite. I go there on a regular basis with boyfriend and friends. We know some of the servers and they take great care of us. It’s a fun atmosphere and yummy.

Great food and the staff is amazing. It was such a pleasure to have a bartender who called us Sir and Mam. His parents raised him right! I’m sorry I didn’t ask his name so that I could give him kudos to his boss! Such a pleasurable experience. We will be back, and often!

The salsa and the refried beans were very very good. The rest of the food was just okay, but the queso fundido had enough grease that I could have bathed in it… and the waitstaff was mediocre. We waited 10 mins in a near empty restaurant for a refill… I could overlook that and would go back except for one thing… There was this bizarre smell that permeated the restaurant. Originally when we first walked in, i chalked it off to heavy use of cleaning fluids or something like that, but it was sickening. And as the meal went on it started to flavour our food and it was no bueno. My best description of it is stuffing your nose into an overly perfumed grandmother’s dirty clothes, floral and pungent. It clearly was emanating from the restrooms. I stepped in the womens room and almost puked when the smell attacked me like a cloud of tear gas. I would go back if that smell was no longer there, but it was so i will not be returning.

3rd visit and still impressed with the quality of the food, service and everything else. Huge menu with plenty of options for everyone. Had the house Margarita tonight and really good.

Food pretty good Nice clean place service is good, menu large, what I had was very tasty and fresh. The lgr bowl of Aztez soup was excellent. Like I said before I do t usually eat in Mexican restaurants in the states only when I go to Mexico or the southwest. This I d come back again if only to get the happy hour margarita s but do try as it has a very big menu

Well, still not quite it but closer than most. Cheese dip should be chili con queso if you are Tex mex. Our server was good. Everything on side of fajitas was very good. The meat was under marinated and over cooked which made it tough. If the meat was tender and not over cooked I would put this place at 4 stars. If you fear too much seasoning and want decent Tex mex ish food this will be with a try

The good: The service, unless the place is busy, which it never is. The cheese dip. Finally a Mexican place in Sarasota that knows how to make white cheese dip. The salsa. Needed a bit more salt, but it’s fresh and quite tasty. The bad: The mole sauce for enchiladas. Waaaay too salty and overbearing. I’ve had 3 different types of enchiladas. All of them resemble prepackaged, frozen, microwave variety, covered heavily in dark mole sauce. Cold food 2 out of the 3 times we’ve been there. We’ve had to send multiple items back to get nuked in the microwave, including cheese dip all 3 times we’ve been there. Cold chips. Most Mexican places keep chips in a warming tray. Not here. The ugly: Anything with chicken. The chicken they use is one step up from cat food. It’s dark meat that is chopped into tiny, grisly pieces. I can’t imagine the money they save not using white meat chicken is more important than serving a nice, fresh plump white meat chicken instead of nasty, cat food like chicken. We’ve been to Mr. Tequilas 3 times now. The first time we never got our entrees before leaving. We gave them two more chances. Strike 2 and strike 3. It’s a shame that the best Mexican food in Sarasota is still at Chili’s. How hard can this be?

The service is good and nice decorated the sauces are the worst they are heavy on rhe salt. The tacos are ok on Tuesday. we have been 2 times. Dont ask for a spicy sauce for the chips just add some hot sauce youself. They gave us a bowl with pepper added to the regular sauce uck.

It is very good Mexican, not excellent but good. We order shrimp fajitas, and it was good but not the best, the portion is big and easy to split if you not big eater, but it came with 3 tortilla that no way you can feet all food. I wish it had more salad and salsa on the site then rice and beans. They need hot sauce on the site and may be napkin. Service is a bit slow even the restaurant not been busy. But over all it good. worth to came back and try something else

Sunday lunch at Mr Tequila for the first time. First impression is very good, clean and fun, colorful atmosphere. Food was very good, server very polite and had a good smile and attitude. Had a combination platter with a burrito and cheese enchilada. Now I am a cheese enchilada fan! I am also very picky about my cheese enchiladas. Something so simple can so easily get messed up! However Mr Tequila nailed it! Excellent creamy cheese and good tasting sauce. Well done! The portions were very generous and we are leaving full and satisfied! We will be back!

Fresh Horchata? Yes please! Finally a place that doesn’t use the gross mix. Aside from that, everything here is delicious. A little bit loud, but there was a mariachi band there when we went(I have no idea if that’s usual) Had the enchiladas, tried the rice and beans, also saw the burritos & shrimp cocktail. All were superb. Not super cheap but, you’re getting what you pay for.

Not much of an improvement. Food is not fresh. Prepackaged nacho are greasy. Sauce is watery and tasted like like from a jar. Service was good. Place was very festive looking but the food needs to improve. Pricey too over $ 30 and we both had water to drink.

Superb dining. Colorful Mexican accent décor. Open air dining area. Food is fresh and plentiful. I had the«El Combo» more than enough — in fact too much food for me to put down. But the flavor is amazing! We were serenaded by a live mariachi band with phenomenal sound and the romantic Mexican songs. A great«first date» and party restaurant. Shows color and great food for everyone to enjoy according to their likings in Mexican foods.
