I believe the old farmers market in Miakka has recently moved locations and are now at the Old Miakka school house on saturdays. Even in the summer. I’ve gone out to this market every couple of months to stock up on local honey and for the entertainment value. It is a bit of a drive from Bradenton, but why not? There are typically 4 to 8 vendors, so a bit small, but lots of animals for the kids to check out as well as some interesting things. But for me, it is a source of good local honey. I’m a bit fond of the palmetto honey. It tastes as good as tupelo but at a much more reasonable price. The honey house was out there today and they had a few different types of honey, so go out and taste. The market is open from 9:00 to 2:00, just about every non-holiday saturday. Many of the same vendors that used to go to the Crowley Museum on Saturday are now here. I wonder what the story is behind the move? Interesting politics I’m sure!
