Don’t use a groupon here. They don’t take it for a contact exam. Even though it says eye exam right on the form. Then they want to argue about it. And more money if you use groupon than if you don’t. BEWARE!

BEWAREOF offer for OPTICALOUTLETS **** SCAM ****; $ 49 to spend $ 200. I found an Optical Outlet location near me in Sarasota(Landings). I made it to the store to try on some frames before purchasing the advertised voucher on Amazon Local. Firstly, I was dissapointed not to find a majority of the advertised designers. This location is very limited & only carries low end designers. I found a pair of frames that looked good, made of a cheap plastic(not designer). The sales woman wrote down the frame number for me with a quoted price of $ 165 for the frames, lens, anti glare etc. I then decide to buy the $ 49 voucher & was very excited to finally get a pair of glasses. I returned to the store today(2 days later) to make my purchase when the SAME sales woman proceeded to tell me that what she quoted was a «PACKAGE» and she would have to re-price for me based on RETAIL! Well«retail» for the same glasses with my $ 200 voucher were $ 399.95! Less my $ 200 voucher would be a balance of $ 199.95PLUS the $ 49 I already spent. This is a total SCAM!!!

I made an appointment. When I got there I was never greeted. I found the sign in sheet. After about 15 minutes I was handed the new client form to fill out. I filled it out and was told it would be a few minutes. I waited over 45min(1 hour past my appointment). Staff was very rude and did not make me feel welcome. The doctor on the other hand was really nice and social. He made feel very comfortable. When I was done I was there for about another 45+ min to get rung up for glasses. Then I was over charged. They kept trying to push a more expensive package and polarized glasses which I didn’t want. When she was ringing me up and the price was way over what it was suppose to be she refused to explain why and kept insisting she is saving me money. She was extremely rude. I just paid and then after I paid she said of yeah it won’t be ready for over a week, that would have been nice to know sooner. She never said thank you or anything. Just nasty. When I picked up my glasses, they were dirty and had scratches on the frame, turns out they were display glasses(which I got no discount for, just and attitude). Once again no thank you or anything. I gave them two stars because the doctor is great, the front staff is horrible, rude, and unwelcoming. Although I like the doctor, I won’t be going back because I would never want to deal with such a horrible staff again.

Interesting… I just wrote a review and it’s not showing so this may show up as a duplicate(why didn’t I copy first?) Summary: I’ll never go here again.(4848 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota location) Another optical center will get my business. Apparent lack of customer service. I called on Monday, Feb. 6th to make my appointment for today, Wed. Feb 8th. At that time I was given multiple appointment time options. This would lead someone to believe they really aren’t that busy(which isn’t necessarily bad but could be an indicator). #1 — I arrived early for my 5:30 appointment this evening. Even though there was a lady at the desk when I came in she didn’t acknowledge me(she didn’t even bother to raise her head to make eye contact). I found the«sign in sheet» on my own, signed in and went to the seating/waiting area. #2 — I was given the new patient paperwork after a short wait(totally cool with that). When I finished with the paperwork I asked where the restroom was. I was dismayed to find it smelly and without both toilet paper and paper towels. #3 — After waiting 35 minutes past my appointment time I got up to cancel my appointment. The lady did explain that they were super busy today and behind schedule. She asked if I would like to re-schedule. I explained I was going to find another place to go. Do they double book appointments? Possibly. Whether they do or not is not of huge importance to me but it is important to me that I’m greeted when I walk in, that a bathroom has toilet paper and paper towels. And, for goodness sake, if you are behind schedule please tell me when you hand me the new patient paperwork and give me the option to re-schedule at another time. At least that indicates you take into account that my time is valuable. How much longer would I have had to wait? I honestly have no idea. What I do know is that there was one doctor working and another patient had literally just walked into the exam room when I made the decision to leave. At the end of the day I have more options than I could probably count on both hands and I choose to spend my money with a company that demonstrates they care about their customers.
