Pak Mail

Went here to send some packages in a rush.
Wow this place smells like animals live there, looks like an episode of Hoarders and the people there — let me leave it at «no comment».
Oh yea on top of that — an 11lb package entered at 25lbs and manually adjusted to 11
a 4lb package entered at 14 lbs and manually adjusted back to 4lbs.
Oh and another shady thing — they don’t want you taking a pic of the tracking number or label because you can print it and use it. uhhh ok

I went to this store on Dec 22 to send a small item (12“x12“x4″) by prepaid Fedex. I asked the man to provide a box and box up the package. He was extremely unfriendly immediately saying that it would cost me for the box and labor. I told him that I was just glad that he could do this since I needed to send the item out today. Then he told me it would cost $ 9.51 and I said that was fine.
He continued to be very unfriendly when I asked for a tracking number, telling me sarcastically that it was on the prepaid label and I could copy it down. After a few more unpleasant comments, I asked him if he was the owner and he replied «yes, I am.» I then asked if I had done something to offend him when I came in because he had been unfriendly since the beginning. He told me that he was in business to provide service not to be friends!
Since I was the only person in the store, I asked if he couldn’t do both since there was no rush. He just grunted and then said the package would go out that afternoon. I give this 1 star even though he did send the package out properly; IMHO, customer service distinguishes shipping company and he was downright hostile.
He was competent but so surly that I would use this Pak Mail only if there were NO other convenient options.

Went to this store to send a fax. The woman who works there was extremely unfriendly to begin with. She sent my 2 page fax — fine. She charged me $ 3.44. Fine. But, when I went to pay with my debit card, she informed me that they prefer cash. I told her I didn’t have cash on me at that moment and I had to use my debit card. She then informed me that she had to charge me a .50 cent fee for me to use my debit card — after she had sent the fax!!! I wasn’t informed in advance of this extra fee and there was no sign. It isn’t the money as much as the way they are doing business. Since we have so many choices of shipping places, I definitely will pass up Pak Mail in the future. No thanks!
