This family makes the finest fresh homemade pasta between Florida and Texas! We have several favorites, squid-ink pasta tops the list. So soooo amazing! I wish they would ship this to Texas! We bought nine packages to take back home with us! I have never had pasta taste this good in my life!!!

Unbeatable in SW Fla. for superb homemade fresh pasta(tagliatelle, ravioli, gnocchi, tortellini, etc.) and sauces that have never failed to deliver amazing flavors. The empanadas are terrific and as good as I’ve had in Buenos Aires. The empanadas go from from vegetarian(e.g. the Margarita) to succulent and spicy(or not) beef and sweet Middle Eastern sfihas. But wait!!! there’s more: delicious Argentine style chorizo and blood sausage for grilling, Yerba mate and dulce de leche. A winning destination for good-as-it-gets fresh pasta and Argentine delicacies and friendly service by Señora Paula, the head of the family that runs this amazing store and its outlet at the weekly downtown farmers’ market. Muy bueno!

Tried these delicious empanadas at the Sarasota Farmers market(every time I go), was really happy when I found out they had a store front! Located next to chilies, they have a few indoor tables where u can sit and enjoy a freshly heated empanadas — so many to choose from! My favs are: spicy beef, breakfast, roasted veggie, spinach and cheese. They also serve a ton of homemade pastas: paparadelle, tagliatelle, corkscrew, macaroni, pasta sheets, whole wheat, squid ink, spinach, etc. and sauces to go with: porcini mushroom, pesto, marinara, etc. I’m def looking forward to trying it all!

Saw the review in the Sarasota Herald and gave it a try… and, very glad we did. Owned and run by an Italian/Argentinian family. Had a nice stock of homemade pasta’s that looked great… but, we came to try out the large variety $ 15 of empanadas. Excellent. They are all made up, and just needed to be warmed in the oven for five minutes. We tried the Spinach, Steak & Cheese, Onion & Cheese, Spicy Beef, and Blue Cheese. All were very good, but the Steak & Cheese, and Spicy Beef were the best in our opinion. The spicy beef was very much like a Jamaican Patty… of course, with different dough. The dough is excellent, and you can certainly tell they are homemade. Excellent service. Small, cut place, with 4 – 5 tables in order to enjoy a light lunch or dinner. We’ll be back.

Wow! Would never think to find good empanadas in Sarasota! Saw the review in the Herald Tribune and picked them up for lunch! We were not disappointed and I’m anxious to try others beyond the chicken and the margarita — both were great. They open at 11 am at the retail store with a small seating area. What a great little lunch– heated them in the toaster oven as prescribed and they were great! Definitely worth a stop. I’ll be going back to try the ravioli and the other pasta!

Fabulously good home-made pasta. What’s even better, the proprietor(I believe her name is Paola) on finding out it was my first visit, took me in hand and showed me all the various pastas and other terrific food products this small store on Tamiami Trail(next to Siam Orchid and behind Chili’s) offered. Fresh pasta, as well as frozen pasta like ravioli and manicotti, was reasonably priced and looked quite appetizing. I will return often and suggest you add this place to your list of «gotta go there» destinations.

After realizing that there really wasn’t much seafood at the shrimp and lobster festival at the Sarasota Farmer’s Market yesterday, Gabriel and I decided to get a couple of snacks instead. When I saw that there was an empanada vendor, I went to ask about the beef empanadas. Many years ago, my Argentinian friend made a batch of the most incredible empanadas ever and I’ve never found anything that came close. One of the big differences between the ones he made and the ones I usually see were the raisins. I LOVED the sweetness that they added to the savory beef. Well, you can guess how psyched I was when I asked if these had raisins and was told that indeed they did. YAY! At $ 5 for 2, I ordered a beef empanada and Gabriel got the spicy shrimp. They were both excellent– but I was ESPECIALLY excited with mine with included beef, raisins, green olives and hard boiled eggs. Now, I realize that these ingredients don’t sound like they’d be delicious together but PLEASE trust me when I tell you that ohhhhh yes they are. What an odd coincidence to realize that the empanada vendor was related to the pasta vendor from which a friend picked up some homemade pastas for me that I am picking up later today. If the pasta is even nearly as awesome as the empanadas, I will be a very happy foodie tonight! YUM. Thank you.
