Mold all over the bottom of the crust! I have pictures and the pizza if anyone wants to see it. Can’t attach photos here. The cashier and manager were both rude to me then ruder to my sweet wife! Refused to replace it or give a refund. Said the little black and green circles were burnt flour for gods sake! I left a comment on their fb page and they deleted it and blocked me! Don’t go to Rico’s I had a worse experience at another location in town aswell.

Stay away from delivery. We had high hopes, but 90 minutes after placing an order for delivery, nothing. Plenty of calls with empty promises. On a Monday no less. It is OK to be busy and have a long wait, but be honest with people man. We’re hungry!!!

They used to be awesome, but quality has gone downhill. Pizza is nice and thin, but a bit doughy.

The food here is pretty dang decent. The staff has been for years, a very friendly bunch of competent young folk. I am always happy to eat from here and to give them my money. Stick to the classics. They are not as competent with more obscure entrees.

I really loved the pizza. It is certainly the best I’ve had since I moved to Sarasota. We dined in. The dinning room is very small I was within 6 feet of the pizza oven. I didn’t mind though. I would best describe the experience as raw. The owner and his son is very friendly and my family had a great time. We will be back for more.

This is my absolute favorite pizza in town. I love their sauce and they use great toppings. The flavor of their pizza is far and away the best in town. The staff is always very friendly and they go above and beyond on your requests. I would always recommend Rico’s in Gulf Gate.

First time I visited this place and I really enjoy this spot. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Cute little family owned local pizza shop. Enjoyed their calamari and margarita pizza and both were delicious! I’ll be back to support this local spot!

4 people killed some Ricos pizza for a quiet night at the Capri. We had an 18 inch pepperoni, 20hot wings(they were not remotely hot) and an amazing antipasto salad! Pizza was really good. wings were too, but again the hot was not. Would eat there again!

We ordered food for delivery. They completely messed up our order. They didn’t deliver my antipasto. My ravioli was barely cooked. They gave my boyfriend chicken alfredo instead of chicken Francaise. They offered to bring the antipasto and a 15 credit for next order. I told them it was unacceptable. I wanted a $ 15 credit on my card. I got angry and the girl hung up on me. They’ve messed up before & I always give them a chance. I’m done with Ricos.

Service was great, nothing against the staff. The pizza and garlic knots were not that great. Prices are also sky high. To each his own though as people are raving about this place, personally I’ll keep going to Pi 3.14!

Pizza was more like burned cardboard than anything edible. Garlic knots were somewhat redeeming but not by much. On top of that our quoted 20 minute wait was more like 45 by the time we actually got out pizza. With so many other pizza joints in Gulf Gate there really isn’t a reason for us to go back.

I am a life long resident of Sarasota and will always go to Rico’s as my pizza place. Consistent, authentic, delicious Italian food. Love love.

Ordered 2 slices and got a whole pie! It was after 9 and they wanted us to have fresh. By far the best pizza I have enjoyed in Sarasota county in the 22 years I have lived here. Son Robert a pleasure to meet.

Yes 5! For what we looking for, expected, and got. Ate in, great fresh salad, bottle of Banfi wine, two hot subs(grinders) one veal parm one eggplant, both excellent, great gravy. Look, if you are looking for a child and family friendly place, slow service, for us typical thin crust pie, up northeast style, NY/NJ/RI, go for it. I was sold by the neon flashing sign for«open» along side of neon beer signs in the windows. Not for everyone but for those longing for a bit of northeast home with ll the attitude, this is your«eat my pie» place…

I have had great tasting pizza from there in the past. Very disappointing this time. Don’t know if someone new is making the pizza but it wasn’t up to their usual standard. The pizza also didn’t have their usual fresh mozzarella taste. Will try again and hope I will be glad I did.

I ate at Rico’s twice this week. Outstanding! Growing up in New Jersey, THIS is the pizza I miss. The white pizza is incredible! Friendly service and good food — what more could I ask for? And the prices are good, too!

Pizza was good but a little cold. It was delivery so we expect a little cold but seemed like it was sitting around for a bit before delivery. Wings were not good a all. There was no sauce on them and we ordered them with medium sauce. It was basically fried chicken wings. Pizza was good other then being cold.

This place is slightly above average. We swung by with a large hungry group and ordered enough food for us twice over. Food was accurate, quick, and hot. I sampled the cheese calzone, pepperoni pizza, Greek salad, and meatball sub. Overall the food was too greasy and salty for my taste, but not so much that it was bad. It was greasy because they certainly do not skimp on the cheese, which is great in most circumstances. No one is eating pizza and watching their figure. Outside of the meatball sub, each dish’s most abundant ingredient was cheese. The sauce was a little too salty for me but I’m not a big salt guy. The calzone was very good and enormous. I would recommend it to any goers. It was cheesy and well made. The salty marinara was the only pitfall here. The pizza was disappointing because it was so close to being very good. It was extremely cheesy and hot, but the problem was that the center of the pie was soggy. After the first few inches of droopy dough, the pizza was quite good. The crust was a perfect level of crunch. It would’ve taken the focus off the grease and salt if it had been cooked just right. The salad was a disappointment. It’s the only dish where too much cheese is bad. It had an abundance of everything except lettuce. The attempt to buffer some of the hunger with some greens failed. It was a plate of olives and cheese with hints water vegetables. The dressing was good though. The meatball sub was pretty good. It was salty also but the meatballs were flavorful and the bread was crunchy. I think it would’ve been vastly improved if they cut the salt on the sauce. I would bet tha sometime the pies are cooked just right and this could be some great New York style pizza.

Did a pick up the other night. Calzone(Still best I’ve found in town). Food was great and fresh. Several Staff members came by to make sure I had everything I needed.(I was early to pick it up so I was waiting). Based on that, I’d say they are doing well with service. The place was pretty bumpin on a Friday night, so I’d guess they have good local support. Also, my order came out exactly when I had requested it to.
