Popped in here for a wick bite. The place is clean and waitstaff friendly. I had the beef empanadas to start. They were very crispy and flavorful. I was a bit let down by the Cuban sandwich. The Cuban bread was great and crunchy but the sandwich lacked flavor.

Trying to branch out in life, we went for cuban rather than our traditional Mexican since we were in Florida. We ordered the Yuca w mojo. Expecting a fried chip, we were served a potato type thing bathed in butter in garlic. We continued are navaity and order the special of chicken with rice. Expecting shredded chicken we were served a full leg and thigh. The meat just fell off the bone. I have some experience w monitor and these were very good, authentic and not overly sweet. I recommend this place.

I went on Monday for lunch after some meetings for work. There were four of us and we had Cuban sandwich with black beans or chicken soup, the daily special of Cuban meatballs with yellow rice and plantains and the grouper with yellow rice. Everyone loved their meal and I had enough leftover from large sandwich and black beans to take home for dinner! Service was good and bill including tip only $ 55. Great value too is a bonus.

To be honest I never expect much from Latin-American restaurants in the area, Rincon Cubano is an exception. The food is good, clean flavors. Some of the reviewers say it’s bland, well yes it is, if you expect to eat spicy foods here, it’s not Mexican or Tex-Mex. Cuban food is not spicy, you need to add the spice to your taste. We had the Tuesday special which was a braised chicken, it was tender and juicy, nice sauce but ask for more so you can soak the rice, the black beans were very good and the fried yuca is the best I’ve had in Sarasota. For dessert, the flan which was a treat, super creamy and delicious. Great to share. Our server was a little spacey. Have their espresso which is strong and good.

I so wanted to love this place, but the food was just ok. The stuffed potato was very bland. Yucca, empanadas, and plátanos maduros were good. Our waiter wasn’t friendly or unfriendly. If we lived there, maybe we’d give it another try, but I don’t know if I’d go out of my way…

Empanadas are great — large and worth the price. Sandwiches are large — be prepared to share or take half home! They also have breakfast as well — which we will have to try next.

Rincon Cubano has won several awards for thier great food and service. If you want fancy it wont be your cup of tea if you want Great service and good food at reasonal prices this is the Place to go! My favorite Waitress Nelly and Ernesto the waiter are awesome kind and have quick response. It is clean and Mom and Pop atmosphere. You wont be disappointed Favorites are Yuca frita con mojo and any of the smoothies .The small sandwich is enough for 2! The large will give you left overs to take home. Try the Caldo Gallego which is a bean and ham soup with collards AMAZING!!! Other favorites The steak sandwich, the Cuban. Don’t forget to get a shot of espresso before you leave! You wont be sorry.

Not bad but definitely I would not go out of my way to go back there. The place was clean, the service was OK, but the food was not great.

Stopped in for late lunch on Saturday. Pleasant surroundings, good wait staff. Three of us had the daily special– roasted pork(lechon asado) congris(rice and black beans) and sweet platanos. One ordered Cuban sandwich and tostones. Had yucca fries for app. Everything was good — pork was moist and hot, rice a little dry but good, the sandwich was large and tasty. Price was very reasonable. Will go back again soon and try more dishes.

My wife and I have been twice in the last three weeks, and we enjoyed the food immensely both times — as good as any of the pricey paladares we recently visited in Havana. You cannot go wrong with any of the daily specials judging from my friends’ reaction. I especially enjoy the roast pork with congri and plantain. My wife prefers chicken Juliana. The service was prompt and friendly. The food came out hot and together for our table of four. The prices are on the low end but fair for unpretentious, fun, casual dining. One very, very small nit — I would enjoy just a few more beer and wine selections. But — go for the best Cuban food in SRQ, no para las bebidas.

I tried the Cuban sandwich… I was very disappointed. The meats were cold cuts of low quality. There was one slice of pickle on the whole sandwich and the mustard was so light, it had no effect at all. I try 1 or 2 new Cuban sandwiches every week and this one ranks below the average.

Soooo yummy!!! We have family in Sarasota so every time we visit our family there, we have to go to Rincon Cubano too! I love their yellow rice and black beans soup. And and you have to try flan!!! Ohhhh my goodness!

Food here was phenomal! The bistec palomilla with white rice and black beans, and maduros was a hit! The baked chicken with yellow rice and red beans and tostones was delish! And the chicken empanada and boiled yucca was great. Fast, friendly service and a great bargain. We’ll be back… tomorrow:)

Highly recommended! You know when your Cuban friends recommend this place it must be good and it is. I usually do lunch and always go with the lunch special. Whatever is it, you won’t go wrong. I would rather eat here than the Columbia. The staff is always friendly and work as a team. Great place.

We are from Hawaii but my husband was used to work in Tampa so he knows what the REAL Cuban foods are. We searched«Cuban restaurants in Sarasota» on google and found this place. The owner guy was very very very nice and kind. We asked many questions about Menu and he didn’t get tired of us*^^* Anyway, everything we ordered was FANTASTIC!!! Even my husband said«it was all good!» and he is very picky! This is one of the restaurants on our list«we have to go when we visit Sarasota» it seems like some people order in advance and come to pick up too. Cuban bread is REAL, pork stew stuff was so good, pork chop was tender, ANDANDAND don’t forget to order flan!!! Soooo creamy and just couldn’t stop eating!!!

These sandwiches are no joke!(Did you see the picture? It’s serious.) The bread is perfectly crispy and delicious, the lechon was flavorful and the sandwich was HUGE. All for $ 6.50. The beef empanada was also great! When I saw that it was $ 3.50, I was a little enraged, but the empanada is also pretty large(probably twice the size of what you get in Chicago). The bf ordered breaded steak(also massive) that came with yucca, rice and beans. I really loved the beans! Make sure you ask for more of the garlic oil thing because it is a great addition to anything. Honestly. Also, you won’t be able to resist the bread that they give you while you’re waiting. It’s piping hot, crispy and buttered. Too good. It might ruin your appetite, but it’s fine. Service was very nice and I noticed that the waiter didn’t turn away a group of three guys, even though it was close to closing time. The restaurant itself is large and has a lot of booths and tables. It feels like it was once a family diner, but they spruced it up!
