Sarasota Fine Wine & Tastings

I have been going to Steve’s store since he has opened. He is knowledgeable, always helpful and after he knows what you like has plenty of recommendations for what you like and how to expand your range. Prices are very competitive and his specials are winners. His monthly tastings offer great catered snacks that are often substitute for dinner. He has special tastings as well and a new weekly wine school. The weekly venue offers wines by a region with a knowledgeable expert describing the grapes, wineries and in many cases the families. In summary a great place to buy wine and if you like hang out at the wine/​tasting bar.

I returned to this store for the 2^nd or 3^rd time in as many years, and again, a most positive experience.
Steve, the owner (see photo), really knows his wine (as he should), and offers excellent customer service. He will guide you to the best wine for your taste or budget. He will deliver in the area. His prices are very fair.
I will return.

Sarasota Fine Wine hosts a monthly tasting that is very well done. There is always a good selection of wines, tasty appetizers, and helpful stewards and staff.
The proprietor, Steve, does a great job of taking care of details and making recommendations that are very helpful. He goes out of his way to take care of his customers. They also are simply friendlier than other places around Sarasota.
Prices are reasonable and the selection is better than some of the other establishments in town.

Love Love Love this wine store. It is like the corner neighborhood store — when you go in, there is usually an open tasting and great recommendations? The owner has donated to several fundraisers, which is usually a chore with the chains. Go to the website to sign up for periodic tastings. Heat company like the wine tastings I miss on M street in DC

Fantastic wine shop. Hands down the most knowledgeable, helpful and friendly wine shop I’ve ever been to.
Owners Steve and Karla really take the time to learn your likes and dislikes and have yet to recommend a wine that we don’t like. Steve is teaching us wines, helping us develop our palates — and he’s not trying to sell us the most expensive options as we go.
I have never felt rushed to leave or make a decision on a bottle and get out. Steve is always willing to stop and talk about what you’re looking for.
A lot of super wines in all price ranges. They do a monthly Wine Tasting evening with several vintners and/​or distributors. The evening always offers some fabulous nibbles too, often by our favorite caterer, Zest! of Sarasota.
If you enjoy wine, know a lot about it, know very little and just want a bottle, know very little and want to learn more (immediately or over time), or just want a lovely little wine bar for a couple of glasses on an early Friday evening with some great company … this is the place to go.
Love it! Absolutely love it!

Clerk told us the store was closed 10 minutes before it did when we had only been in there for a couple of minutes. Then, as we were rushing to check out he was vocally upset that someone else came in the store… still before it was actually closed. Won’t go here again.
