Shore

One of my favorite places in the Sarasota area. The bar is fantastic, the ambience is hip, laid back, never had a bartender doesn’t know how to mix the perfect cocktail. I’ve been there for both lunch and dinner sat inside and out, service was always excellent. I prefer eating at the bar. I like sharing four a five apps between the two of us, if you’re in Sarasota put it in the list.

This listing is for the clothing store on the first floor. There is a separate listing for Shore Diner, which, while affiliated, is located upstairs from the clothing store. Hopefully someone can segregate the two sets of reviews.
The clothing store is fantastic. My wife and I dropped in last week while we were visiting relatives who live in the area. We had been in the store a year ago and liked it then too. Great vibe. Super nice people work there (in particular, a big thank you to Vinnie who was cheerful and helpful — like a boy scout but cooler and better dressed).
Shore is a private label line of clothing that is manufactured in California — big plus for being made here in the good old USA (insert flag waving and cheers now). Style points for a great logo as well. The logo looks like the brand has been around for decades when in fact it’s still quite young.
This brand is island meets upscale casual meets classic cool. Comfortable yet still looking sharp. Tommy Bahama when that brand was new to the marketplace. There are a few brands that this clothing line seems to be related to in a target demographic kind of way — Johnny-​O, Vineyard Vines and Southern Tide all come to mind. Classic not trendy. All of the products seem to be well made and while the price points are a little high, they are not out of line for the typical St. Armand’s Circle shopper.
The store is well laid out, open and has a lot of product — they also sell other brand names — not just the Shore label. Plenty of dressing rooms and selections for both men and women.

And no, I don’t work for this company or know the owners or have any affiliation at all — just happy to have come across it. Well that and I am the proud owner of a «blue ice» colored long sleeve rash guard!

I would love to give this place five stars because the food was phenomenal, the menu choices were on point, and the drink selection was great. However, our waiter seemed poorly trained and unenthused to be serving us. Didn’t give us the specials until asked, served coffee with no milk and sugar, just a bit off his game. Maybe people didn’t treat him right that night but he seemed to warm up to us as the night progressed. Although he didn’t notice that a dish we ordered never came out, and put it on my check. $ 200.later I would have hoped I could give this place 5 stars. Not cheap folks!
Do get:
Calamari –more like an Asian salad with calamari, Delish
Kale salad– amazing, activated yeast on top was a perfect touch
Lobster cob– so much lobster
Flank steak — asked for medium, got medium and it was the voted best dish all night
Highlights: the kombucha was on point, and homemade mozzarella was lovely

Come late! Place fills up fast so get there early or have a reservation

We love eating at The Shore. We go there a few times a month to see our favorite bar tender Mike. He is always up-​beat and funny. He makes every visit worth the drive (we live 20 minutes away).
The food is consistently great and the people are away very nice. We love going there and we recommend it to all of our friends.

Wait staff is attentive, but a little pushy… they recommended the ‘white sangria’ — said it was sweet and however it was bitter and not very good. I was too embarrassed to send it back since the waiter highly recommended it…
Best thing on the menu was calamari and napa cabbage. Ambiance nice, great rooftop dining, very crowded after 7 PM. Clothing store downstairs is cute. Pretty sure my teen daughter would love to shop there. Staff in store is super friendly.

Best of four places we ate in St. Armand’s Circle. The calamari appetizer was very good and was more like a salad. We had the burger, sirloin caprese, and the seafood linguine and all was excellent. Very clean and modern restaurant with great service.

Great restaurant with great atmosphere. The drinks & food were delicious! Prices were average for an upper scale restaurant. The only thing I could possibly comoplain about is the menu is rather small. I would have liked to see a larger selection, especially of fish. But on the whole… it is a great place!

This is the 2^nd time we had dinner in this restaurant. Just like the first time we came here we are seated right away, the restaurant/​lobby/​washroom are all clean. The service is good, the food? It was great! We had dinner both times. The first time we visited we ordered Kung Pao Calamari, Lobster, Shrimp & Crab Cobb Salad and Cedar Key Clams, Mussels & Shrimp. All are very delicious especially the Kung Pao Calamari (highly recommended). On our 2^nd visit we almost ordered the exact same thing lol! We had the Kung Pao Calamari, Key West Shrimp & Scallop and Cedar Key Clams, Mussels & Shrimp. Again, we were not disappointed. One of the gems in St. Armands Circle.

Absolutely love this place. Been here multiple times and the food is awesome and the service is top notch. Will be a regular here every time we come to this city.

Nice place for that special night out. The menu is good and food is very tasty. Great for a birthday dinner or anniversary.

Shore is a really hip, fun place to go for just drinks, dinner or late night fun.
They offer a lot of outside seating, as well as indoor seating. Shore has a very large, beautiful bar.
There’s a retractable ceiling, at the front of the restaurant and in the rear. In the evenings, as the sun sets, you can see the beautiful sky and enjoy being outside.
Their decorations were so fun. You’ll definitely notice everything when you walk in.
Their tables were made out of beautiful wood.
Be sure to check out the really long picnic table in the center of the restaurant.
Their large outdoor heaters are made to look like lamps.
We enjoyed the scenery, the location and the restaurant.

Best place on St. Armonds. Try the Thai calamari and the mussels for apps
Also the red snapper main plate and the shrimp and scallops risotto

Just about my favorite clothing store of all time. Great selection for men and women. I think the prices are reasonable for stylish clothing.
They sell sexy, stylish, modern, relaxed, trendy, hip fashions. Coats, sweaters, shirts, t-​shirts, shoes, sandals, pants, skirts, accessories, etc…
Shore provides an environment. Their presentation, people and selection are all catered to the customer. If you purchase something here that is defective they will reimburse. I know this first hand. I bought a winter jacket and the filler inside kept coming out bit by bit, very frustrating. I owned it for a year before I returned it, no problem.
If you like cool clothes check this place out. Then finish off at the Shore restaurant above. Win, win!

Clothes and jewelry are very cute but VERY VERY OVER PRICED. EMPOLYEES ARE RUDE AND UNHELPFUL. My sister bought a necklace and the cashier didn’t make eye contact and was just yapping to another chasier. Very snooty people. Never going there again!

Love the store and people who work there! Clean and always coming out with new items!

Just opened on the 2^nd floor of Shore, a clothing store on St. Armonds Circle, a welcome addition to the bar and restaurant scene. Young inexperienced servers, but willing to please. Part of the Caragulios chain of restaurants which will make this one catch on. Now takes reservations for parties of all sizes, but will try to fit you in at the time they want and not at the time you wish to dine.

We’ve stop into this establishment every time we visit Sarasota. The employees are usually very friendly and helpful. I love shore because they usually have the newest surf styles and accessories. We’ve purchased alot of new clothing from shore over the few years they’ve been open. They are normally very inviting and once even let my two pups come in so we could purchase clothes!
Unfortunately, this weekend (Saturday October 29^th, 2011 around 2−3pm) the two ladies in there were less than cordial. We were probably browsing for about 15 minutes (maybe 2 – 3 other customers in the store) before we were even half greeted. The brunette «sort of» greeted us but the blond completely ignored us. It was a little disappointing.
If i wanted to have cold shoulder snobby service, I would’ve went over to «Exit Art» first!
