The owners Ali & Jane really take pride in catering to the niche neighborhood of Laurel Park/Burns Court! They really know their customers and know what to stock on their shelves for us. From the newest/finest microbrews, select high-end wines, to gourmet food and sweet baked cakes as well as cookies. In the 10 years of being in Sarasota it’s the only place i need to shop. They have it all and if they don’t… they tell them… and poof. they will order it for you!

Love this place! Has everything you need and more. Great selection of beers and don’t forget to stop in for lunch. Food is fantastic and the staff is friendly and very helpful. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Ali who certainly makes you feel welcome. Nice to find a place that you can have a quick bite and grab some everyday essentials as well.

I love this place. I could go on for hours but the fact I’m rating a «convenience store» in Sarasota speaks volumes. Awesome beer and wine selection. Great place to grab a quick lunch too. Food is fresh and homemade. Friendly staff that get to know you. The Short Stop is a true gem in my humble opinion.

Great place to stop for a quick coffee, newspaper bottle of wine, sandwich, baked goods, whatever… Employees are always helpful and Ali the owner is great to talk to has expanded his wine and beer selection to one of the best in town.

Awesome little quick market for boaters anchoring in Sarasota. Dinghy into Oleary’s tiki bar and walk about half a mile. Has all the basic food essentials and a great selection of beer and wine!

Short Stop really should be called Beer Stop. For years, they have had the best beer selection in town. A tremendous amount of IPA’s, stellar overall craft selection and all of it just sitting there behind those cold fridge doors looking at you intently in the eyes until you make your selection. While Short Stop will never win any convenience store beauty contests, it provides much needed convenience to a part of town that has no other close-by options for things you need in a pinch. From snacks to the aforementioned beer to wine to toiletries, if you find yourself near where Pineapple and Orange intersect and you feel the need for a Mounds bar, a 40 oz. and a can of motor oil, you are golden at Short Stop.
