Wendy’s Nails

This is an affordable no frills place. Good service and clean. I was able to get right in. This was my first trip there but it does look like many are repeat customers. I’ll be back. You can’t beat the price!

Unfortunately, I went by the star rating on Unilocal and expected a nice manicure. I was disappointed. I must have been the last appointment of the day on a Saturday because, although there were 3 others in the shop, they finished up and were out the door in about 20 minutes. The manicurist was nice enough but kept up a constant flow of conversation in her native tongue with all the other ladies working. The others spent the time counting and re-​counting all their tips. I felt like an outsider for sure — in their way and not too welcome. I did not get my cuticles worked on at all and the filing was cursory at best. I had gels that she removed efficiently and redid all 10 in about 10 minutes. I asked about the cuticles and she said they looked good enough. When the nails were dry, no lotion, no massage, no nothing but an escort to the cash register. Gels last 2 weeks typically. However, on day 5, 2 nails were already cracking. Day 7 they were peeling and Day 8, I had it all removed. I am from out of state so I could not go back for repairs.
Sorry, but I will not be back. Too many nail salons around to pay for mediocre.

If you have a little princess at home and you want to treat her to a special day! Bring her here! They have the cutest little pedi chairs for little princesses! 20.00 for kids mani and pedi! You will be the coolest mom EVER!!!

I went here to have a pink (clear actually) and white fill before a wedding I was going to be in and the woman didn’t listen to any of my requests. I came from out of state so chanced having someone I wasn’t familiar with do them and unfortunately it didn’t go well. When she was finished she and I was unhappy she asked me to just come back tomorrow (which I’d already told her I wasn’t able to do because of the wedding I was going to be in 3 hours away). I was going to leave because she immediately started on another customer but had to insist she at least fix the worst of the issues. She did, but I definitely left frustrated and can’t recommend Wendy’s Nails. I wish I remembered the tech’s name, but the event was 2 months ago. If you go, try to go on personal recommendations and to a tech someone else already trusts.

I have gone to Wendy’s Nails for years to get my nails done. However, only a small handful of their employees really do a nice job on your nails. I’ve had my cuticles cut until they bled and/​or made ragged because some of the manicurists just go too fast. I hate to recommend my favorite, Long, because he’ll probably start being so busy that I can’t get in to see him. I’ve also heard that Rosie is good but have never used her myself. Wendy’s husband also does a nice job. Call ahead for an appointment if you want someone specific or don’t want to wait.

Mom, sister and I got a mani & pedi for $ 27.99/ea. My guy was super friendly but slow slow slow. Also, my nails weren’t really filed right — I had to fix it up a bit when I got home. I’ll cut him some slack for:
–escaping a brutal communist régime
–emigrating to another country
–learning english
–becoming a successful multiple-​home owner
–losing it in the economic downturn
–having to do my nails on a Thursday afternoon
I digress. The salon has fantastic massage chairs, they use OPI nailpolish, and gave great hand/​leg massages. Everyone was really cheerful and nice, natch.
But most importantly, my nails look fantastic.

Nice place, new & clean, the people there are very nice, friendly.
Good job on the toes, could have used more feet rubbing of course.
