Have loved this place since they came here. Let’s start with the hostess with a restaurant with she couldn’t decide where to sit us in a restaurant with 10 people in it. The steak was so bad and tough I couldn’t eat it, one of my firsts. Waiter was very good, but that was all I can say was good that might

There was a lot about this place that we really liked. Location, ambiance, staff. It was our anniversary dinner, and the restaurant had come highly recommended to us by a friend. It’s unclear if the kitchen just had an off night, or if they’ve gotten comfortable churning out the same things, and have gotten a little sloppy. I want to assume the best and say that it was one night that was a little messy, but some of the issues seem like what happens when you cook from habit rather than when you cook with pride. The bread was warm and toasty, the Farmers salad was spot on(I honestly wish I’d just gotten a large one of those– it was delicious). I ordered the Eggplant Stacker and my wife the Chicken Piccata. This is where we ran into trouble. The eggplant literally leaked oil as I cut into it– my guess is that the fryer was set too low, or they’d fried a lot recently and the oil temp had dropped– not a problem for fries, but with something as absorbent as eggplant, you need to be careful. The chicken wasn’t too oily, but my wife said that the pickled artichoke hearts had too strong of a flavor, and she left the meal tasting brine instead of chicken. These are the kind of complaints that it’s difficult to bring up in the moment, because sometimes the problem doesn’t hit you until your halfway done with your meal, when bringing it up doesn’t seem worth it — and the staff is so nice you don’t want to say anything — and it was our anniversary, and neither of us wanted to make a stink on a nice night. Unfortunately on the drive home, neither of our stomachs felt great, and we agreed that we were both disappointed in the final flavors in our mouths. We might try it here again, but I’ll stick to the salad, and my wife will probably go for a steak. Safer choices, I’m willing to bet.

I’ve been here multiple times and I can’t recommend the Eggplant Stack enough. It is a good amount of food with tons of flavor. Burgers are good too and the mushroom risotto is top notch as well. Consistently good meal every time we visit.

Service was ok. Server didn’t come back to ask if we wanted another drink. Two of us ordered the lobster and shrimp over linguine. His had a lot of lobster with multiple claw meat pieces and looked awesome. Mine had just a few knuckle pieces and was all pasta. I normally don’t complain but it was so obvious that my dish was lacking the main ingredient(lobster). The waitress agreed and took it back. After a while and everyone was done eating, my new dish came back and looked exactly the same and still lacked lobster. For the price of the dish($ 34), I was very disappointed as I could have bought 34 boxes of pasta for the same price if I wanted just pasta. No apology or acknowledgement from staff. Track season in Saratoga so, obviously they don’t care about repeat business. I am a local and won’t be back.

The more we went to this place it was evident that there are some issues in several areas. The menu is very limited and does not change. I believe this establishment is mainly to go and have cocktails and a bite to eat if you want! If you are looking for a restaurant with a lot of food choices, this is not it. The service is hit and miss. At times it’s good, other visits, not so much. We go out once a week to eat and have decided to go where there are choices and continuous excellent service!

Went here for a special occasion and was completely satisfied with the entire experience. I have to start with the highlight being the filet mignon with prosciutto-wrapped asparagus. The filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Probably one of the top pieces of meat I have ever had at a restaurant. Anytime you can wrap vegetables in pork product is a plus in my book as well. They had a good selection of adult beverages, and our service provided by Tory was exceptional – she comes highly recommended!

I was a bit surprised by the menu prices. Turns out it’s a Chophouse, so why does Unilocal have it at $$? Pasta was delicious, though still it was pasta for $ 20 without a side dish. Décor was upscale enough with lots of dark woods. Stuffed mushrooms were excellent.

The chicken avocado spring rolls were off the charts good. I mentioned my high hopes for the entrees and I think I jinxed it. The chicken Milanese was quite bland and so was the burger. The fair was good but just lacked seasoning. After the spring rolls it was kind of anti climactic.

My overall experience was good. My first impression however was the hostess who was more interested whatever she was doing then greeting a new customer. That being said I was sat quickly. It took much longer that I like to get my first drink but I only saw one waiter. He was friendly and quick once he got going. I ordered a lettuce wedge and requested special changes to it that was greeted with an «of course». It was delicious. I then ordered chicken parmesan which was perfectly cooked and the linguini pasta had a very tasty and unique flavor. The food was piping hot as I like and the service was pleasant. I think two $$ os a low rating and think it deserves a $$$ but it was delicious and well worth it. I would visit again.

Wine(I chose) wonderful. 2012 cab reasonably priced; locals recommended this place. So glad we listened. Recommend was eggplant stack. Amazing! So worth it. Not your traditional recommendation which is exactly why we went with it. Pleasant ambiance, exactly what we were looking for! Saratoga– to you I bow. Nicely done.

Went at the end of Chowderfest. They still had chowder and it was VERY Good. Flavorful broth and not RPI floury. Nice taste of sherry & plenty of clams. The whole place had a nice spirit but not out of control. Our waitress provided exceptional service. Overall, a great time and we“ll definite return!

Get a drink there, otherwise methinks they are sweating to pay the rent with the prices they are charging. It’s kind of sterile and corporate. but a lot of the crowd around the Hampton Inn likes that stuff.

Went here for a friend’s birthday party with a group of 16. In all fairness I think it’s hard to judge a restaurant when you’re in a large group. It was our first time here. The ambience is nice, there was a live band playing. Our servers were prompt to make sure everyone had drinks. They offered bread and butter before the appetizers came out. The bread was warm, with a little spice and flavor. We got the chicken and avocado spring rolls which were served with two different sauces. It was excellent and I would recommend it. I ordered the lobster and shrimp linguine which was a solid 4 star dish. It was excellent and I would definitely get it again. My husband got the chicken spinach fettuccine. The chicken was ok but the fettuccine was bland, greasy, and has much room for improvement. One of our waitresses was super enthusiastic, I have never seen someone so excited about their job. I have to give her props, she became the highlight of our night!

This has become a regular occurrence for me to visit each year I come back for track season. I’ve never been disappointed and the food is so great along with the atmosphere. The first time I went, I was in the mood for scallops I will have to say that they were amazing along with the risotto. The second time around, I decided that I wanted to go all out and get the surf and turf… AMAZING. The steak was so flavorful and cooked to perfection and the scallops hit the spot again. If you’re in the mood for an appetizer/salad, my table all enjoyed the wings, calamari and the wedge salad was great. I will be visiting again in the near future.

J&A’s sister restaurant Bellini’s used to be in our town. It closed last year, and we’ve been going through withdrawal ever since. It was our favorite date night spot. When we visit Saratoga, Jacob & Anthony’s is a MUST for us. This night there were four of us, all ready to quench our thirst with alcohol and satisfy our stomachs with unique entrees. The night was a sweet success! Our waiter was simply amazing — a good dry wit, happily laughing along with us, and making great suggestions the entire way. He was very keen on the peanut allergy at the table, and took the time to make everything perfect. We ordered appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts, and drinks. There was a wide variety — vegetarian dishes, steaks, fish, seasonal vegetables, wine, cocktails, beers, and the sweet endings of dessert and coffee drinks. EVERYTHING was delicious. The fresh ingredients shone through, everything was cooked to perfection, and the seasonings were just right. It was only the limit of our appetites that prevented us from ordering more! We’ll be back!

Had a quick dinner here the other night, this place is adjacent to the Hampton Inn Suites(I was staying there and thought they were connected) I ordered a Saratoga Lager which was good, I always want to try local brews. I went with the seafood chowder which felt slightly on the smaller end, had one in Boston the other night at a bar and it was bigger than this. It was still very creamy and loaded with clams which was a plus. I also tried the fried calamari who was also very good. Not overly breaded or over fried, just right, and it also had onions and baby tomatoes in the mix which added a little flair and flavor to its presentation. Service was good minus a 5 minute window where I needed my beer refilled, I lost my craving for another(shocker I know) by the time I was asked. I liked it overall but next time I’m here I’ll brave the cold and venture out and explore some of the other options in town.

Summary– Mediocre Americana is Mediocre. Nice space, but they won’t be here long with all the other Saratoga options. Food– 2.5 Stars Our lunch was wholly forgettable. Chowder– Rather good. Seasonal Salad– Huge and fresh, but overdressed Cuban– How is a cuban not grilled? Fail. Fries on side were good though. Service– 2 Stars There was NOBODY in the place but we still had to pretty much flag down our waitress for anything. Atmosphere– 3 Stars It was nice inside but eerily quiet.

I went here for a rehearsal dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The pear and walnut salad was a great combination of flavors. For dinner I had the George’s Bank Scallops which is served over risotto and asparagus. Now maybe I’ve watched way too much Hell’s Kitchen, because I noticed the sear on my scallops was very inconsistent with the dish next to me. Not that its a big deal to me since everything still tasted good but its always good to have consistency in a kitchen.
