One of the finest cigar lounges I’ve had the pleasure of visiting and highly recommend to anyone that appreciates great service, cigars, centralized location and atmosphere. If you reside in the area or frequent often, their VIP club provides expanded access across two levels of the building. Enjoy!

The atmosphere is cozy, they have a very nice selection of cigars and the staff are friendly and warm. They offer lots of membership options and it’s a great place to go relax and have a cigar indoors when visiting Saratoga Springs, NY. My husband and I have had a good experience every time we’ve gone in and we will certainly be repeat customers in the future.

Great service, cigars, vibe, location. Nice people. Only complaint is that the owner appears to be a Mets fan, so I have to go elsewhere to catch the Yanks. But given their awesome downtown location, «elsewhere» is like 10 steps away. Love it.

Great selection. Owner greeted me quickly and selected decent cigars based on my preferences. Would absolutely recommend and return when I’m in town.

James and Sons is a must see destination in Saratoga Springs. From the moment you swing open the 20 foot solid hand carved wooden door until you enter their 100 year old bank vaults that serve as an aficionado’s assortment of quality cigars, your mesmerized by history and sophistication. Jim’s knowledge and Moe’s hospitality make you feel like you’re family while you savor the aroma of slow burning rich tobacco. The members of their Black Diamond Club enjoy 24 hour access to 2 private suites decorated in olé English and a Cuban theme. Soft comfortable leather chairs, big screen TVs and a wet bar with complimentary refreshments provide a relaxing atmosphere and meeting spot. I strongly recommend you check it out!

It always makes me happy to visit a town with a classy cigar shop/lounge. Loved the setting it what appears to be an old bank. Pretty good selection of cigars with your premium names represented. Prices are somewhat high but not the highest I have seen. Store policy of purchasing one cigar before smoking any of your own. I got lucky and there was a Navy vet who I ordered one for so I could smoke my Monte in the leather chairs up front. They also made a pretty good espresso.

Great cigar store! The deep leather chairs, cigar atmosphere, tvs in the front/back and of course great cigar selections! Highly recommend if you’re wanting a cigar and a chill atmosphere.

(I am a new resident on Downtown Saratoga Springs and live only one block away from this establishment.) I went to James and Sons tonight with my wife and cousins to check the place out and look into joining their VIP club. I asked the person at the counter if we can go in the back and smoke some cigars to see if we would like the ambiance, and he said no problem. I had brought some cigars already with me but went ahead and purchased cutter for the cigars. A few minutes later, an older gentlemen comes in(whom I presume is either the proprietor or the manager) and says, «do you guys think you are movie stars or something? You come into my place without purchasing anything and think you can come in and sit in the members-only place?» At first I thought he was kidding, but he wasn’t. I told him that I did purchase a product from him and was about to walk into his humidor to purchase some cigars to take home, but decided at that point that I now won’t due to his piss pore attitude. The bottom line folks is, if you don’t actually purchase a cigar from them right away, don’t think about going in the back… even if their employee says it’s ok. I recommend you look into other establishments in the area that know how to properly talk to customers… and neighbors. This was the first and Will be the last time I(or my friends and family) venture into James and SonsTobacconists. With that attitude, I doubt they will be around too much longer anyway. Thank you.

I Loved this smoke shop which I came across during our weekend in Saratoga Springs. James & Sons is chock full of sticks and some great accessories. I found the most gorgeous cigar chest which I had to had to have. This particular cigar company makes amazing handcrafted cigar chests which I use as memory boxes. I have a few and I can see them being part of a future bigger collection… And no they do not smell like ashtrays since the cigars vended in them were unsmoked. Their humidor was like a bank vault and not overly steamy due to its impressive size. The salespeople were most helpful and The L. easily found a few smokes for the weekend and for home. To smoke outside, of course. ;))) Speaking of which, there were some gentlemen exhibiting their cigar rolling prowess outside. Good thing they do not make crepes for Ravenous right down the block, lol…(Who got that reference, MacRae???)
