Prestwick Chase At Saratoga

Pros: clean, very good food and waitstaff; reasonable activities.
Cons: indifferent staff, residents stay in rooms, inadequate emergency electrical generation (residents left in dark during power outages); emphasis on prohibitions, as opposed to helping seniors manage their lives.
Residents need to be in good shape and active; Prestwick really does mean independent living; very independent!

My Dad lives here in Saratoga Springs, NY, so how can I possibily give this place anything less than 5 stars?
Dad’s an active senior, and he enjoys all of the planned activities as well as the quality of the food that they serve in the dining room each evening.
He has a nice 2-​bedroom /​2-​bath apartment with a full kitchen and a stack washer-​dryer in his unit. He receives regular cleaning service plus full-​time on-​call maintenance.
Prestwick Chase is beautifully maintained, and it sits back against the woods, so he can sit on his screened-​in porch and watch the local wildlife around the pond.
Dad’s happy, and I’m happy that he is somewhere clean and comfortable — surrounded by so many nice people.
