Sanctuary Spa Of Saratoga Springs

I came into Sanctuary last minute with a hair issue and they saved the day. I had already paid another salon to blow my hair out and it was horrible. Like, I tried to blow it out myself with a paddle brush and no product frizzy ends type of horrible. Well I came into sanctuary and they were so helpful. I can’t remember her name but she had the tips of her hair dyed a navy blue (I want to say her name was Sarah) — she immediately put me in a chair and completely restyled my hair and made it look amazing for the big party I was headed to that night. They are definitely one of the best salons in Saratoga with the best prices. Try to request the girl I had — she’s the best.

This review is about a year overdue because it took me this long to muster up the energy and relive the pain of the most disgusting, poor customer service experience I have ever received. The worst part was that I was treated this way on my wedding weekend! Getting married in Saratoga at the end of summer I needed a spray tan to even me out for my open back dress. I also was looking get a manicure and pedicure done. Driving up from NYC straight to the salon I ended up being about 20 minutes late only for the manager-​I don’t remember her name but she couldn’t be any more horrible-​to run out to reprimand me for being late-​no remorse, empathy, kindness or understanding whatsoever-​and say how I’m not going to be able to get all the services done that I needed in the time allowed. I couldn’t believe the way it was handled and not being from the area nor having the time it was stressful to manage no thanks to them considering they were completely useless in helping me to figure it out. When I got the spray tan they were quick to say «just come back if you need a touch up». Getting a half assed spray tan I did-​so I came back the next day (day before the wedding) with the expectation it was on them for doing a piss poor job the first time. Nope, it was not. I got an angry call saying I didn’t pay and they charged me for a service I just got done that they didn’t do right the first time. I’m beyond disgusted at the way I was treated and will make it my mission to make sure everyone knows this. I hope this place burns to the ground. How dare you treat a customer like that especially a bride on her wedding day. I would give this negative stars if I could.

I have never left a review on Unilocal before but feel as though I HAVE TO! I have recently started to see Robin at Sanctuary and am very very pleased.
I had wanted to cut my hair/​freshen up my look for a while and was hesitant to let just anyone do it. After seeing robin for a few months for color, etc– I took the jump and am so thrilled. Besides getting numerous comments on how great my hair looks– I haven’t felt or looked so beautiful in a long long time! She listened– asked my opinion– wanted my feedback and I couldn’t be happier with my experiences there.
Robin’s prices are right on spot– and the salon is welcoming and friendly. Sanctuary Salon also has an amazing receptionist– one of the most friendly and accommodating I have experienced. I had to give her a shout out also!!!
If you are looking for a new stylist– I highly recommend Robin. But please– not too many new clients as I want to be able to get in to see her!!!

I had used this salon before with great results. But this time I had Robin Kish do the Inoa color on the very outgrown roots of my extremely long, thick, coarse, curly (read frizzy) hair. I have had my hair done by dozens of other hairdressers around the country. But I have to say that Robin exceeded all my expectations. She matched the color perfectly, caused zero discomfort with the work — which I cannot say for the last time someone in a FL salon did my hair, completed it in record time, was such a pleasure to work with that I allowed her to cut about 8 inches off my length, after she had flat ironed it! (And usually no one cuts my hair!!!) The results were excellent and very gratifying! (I used her judgment on length, and it was spot-​on!) The price was amazingly reasonable. There aren’t enough stars to recommend her highly enough! (I also saw the results of her work as a barber (She is licensed for that as well.) The guy looked great!

I got a groupon to see Robin, and I had a great experience. She is personable and attentive to what I wanted and goes the extra step to make sure you’re happy with what you get.
The salon itself has a good feel. There is good natural light because of the open windows, but it still feels private enough because it’s in a less crowded walking area of downtown Saratoga. My appointment was on a beautiful day so I had great lighting (something that many salons fail to provide). They also have a great receptionist who gets you in as soon as you need, and they were flexible enough to move my appointment within the day.
I’ll be going back!

I have never had a bad experience at this salon for over 5 years! I have had my hair cut, colored/​highlights and my eyebrows waxed. I always leave their looking like a million bucks! I always see Shannon, but I know that I would have the same experience with anyone at the salon! Also, the salon is exceptionally clean! The prices are very reasonable for the area and you can usually find a parking spot on the street by the salon.

I have been a fan of sanctuary since Shannon opened about 5 years ago. She does amazing work. She does my cuts, colors, and straightening. She stays up to date on all the latest products, trends and cutting edge techniques. The salon is immaculate, friendly and very comfortable. Parking is fine since they’re really close but not on Broadway. Prices are very reasonable for the level of service. She always runs on time and always makes sure I walk away happy! I highly recommend the salon.

I’ve been going to Janelle at Sanctuary for several years now and never got a better cut than she gives. She’s an artist. The salon is perfectly fine – nice décor, clean, professional, full-​service, and the Spa is just a couple of doors away. I can’t say enough good things about Janelle. She has a good eye, and can execute the cut. From what I’ve observed, the other clients seem equally satisfied.

Not pleased. Spent $ 85 for a girl to slap some sugar on me. Wasnt a «scrub». Then it was followed by a spray tan. It looked like dirt on me. Worst spray tan I ever got. I am so upset I went there.
Total rip off! Do NOT get the spray tan scrub. I am really disappointed. I expected a thorough scrub. Was more or a «pat down!»

I went for a waxing and found the room very dirty. Laying on my belly I saw dirt and spots on the floor, spots and dirty trails on the cabinet and around the wax pot.
The waxing was not perfect.
It was not my first time at the spa, but I
had the feeling that the quality is getting worse

I visit Saratoga Springs from time to time and I thought I could try to get a haircut while I was there. I am very particular about my hair so I asked around for recommendations. I was pleasantly surprised! Robin did a great job on my hair. I was so pleased that I booked her to do my hair for my summer wedding!

Was in Saratoga for a marathon work trip, and needed desperately to unwind. I booked a couple of treatments, and spent a good amount of time in their «relaxation room» waiting. This room was, to some extent, relaxing, but looks like it could use an upgrade. It was quiet and serene, and I sipped some water and zoned out while waiting for a friend to finish with her treatments.
My spa manicure was great. Wish I had gotten a massage, too, because my friend said hers was nice. I wish this place were a little less friendly, odd as that sounds, because when I’m doing my spa thing, I really don’t want to chat.

I’ve never taken advantage of the salon services here but this is my spot for spray tanning and I’m impressed. The staff is very professional – I’ve gone 3 times and each time been with a different tech, but each of them was friendly and competent and not at all weird in the «you’re naked but I’m not» way that some people can be.
It’s also great that going in for a non-​massage service like this still gets you access to the spa environment and relaxation room. The snacks are good (Godiva peppermint hot chocolate? yes please!) and locker rooms are very clean … though the women’s room is always crowded and I’ve never seen a soul in the larger men’s room. (They keep the door ajar when no one’s in there, I’m not a peeping tom.)

I followed Janelle here from another salon in Saratoga. She has done my hair (from cuts to styling and makeup for my wedding) for a few years now and she’s great! I’ve spent some time at the Spa as well and loved it! I would highly recommend the salon and spa, and Janelle especially!
