How long does it take to make a damn pizza apparently quite awhile. Its sunday the place is empty and its been over 45 mins… i could have taken a jet to Italy and picked up a pie and still have time to eat the thing before i need to shave, geez.

Good pizza, good crust. I felt like there should be more sauce because the sauce to crust ratio was lacking in my opinion — I’ll ask for extra sauce next time. But the toppings and pizza were delicious! Beware though, thick crust means it’s very filling — I could only finish 2 slices at a time.

I have been coming here from over 10 years! The taste of pizza here is always the best and eventually makes me come back soon! However, I have been ordering for pickups that I honestly am unsure how people feel about the service. :) Anyways, the best pizza I had in life!

Great pizzas, great burgers, GREAT beers on tap. In short, if you miss The Boardwalk, go to Jakes. It’s the same deal, and same great food, which makes sense as it’s part of the same group of restaurants along with The Oasis and The Garrett.

At this point I think my wife and I should move in and sleep in the back. Pretty sure Jake’s has become the answer to «I don’t know. Where do you wanna go?» Tip: if you order fries to go, get them in a separate container. They’ll get soggy by the time you get home. Favorite menu item: «Old timer»(burger with pastrami)

Now that I live in New York, I’m not in the Bay often enough to get Jake’s as much as I did growing up in San Jose. But even though I live in the city famous for it’s pizza, Jake’s is still hands down my most favorite. Yes, nothing touches a slice of their pepperoni. The sauce, cheese, crust and pepperoni are perfection! I just had Jake’s for dinner and I’m thinking about ordering another pizza. That’s another plus: they stay open late on weekends. A rarity for places in San Jo. I love you, Jake’s!

I’m a big fan of this place. If you’re truly just rating the food — it’s a 4 star spot, but in this case it’s the overall feel of the place, friendly staff, etc. that puts this over the top. Great beers on tap, excellent pizza, burgers, hot sandwiches, wings, fries, etc. This particular Jake’s has a good casual feel to it both inside and in their side patio. Good place to watch a game. Can get overrun with end-of-season soccer parties on occasion, but that’s a rare even. This is my «go to» spot!

I tend to forget to review the places we go to a lot. LOVE Jake’s of Saratoga. Great for getting your dinner to go or eat in. Kids are total fans and when asked Jake’s is the place to go to. Keep up the good food. Keep up the friendly service.

I found out after I paid that I’d have to wait 30 minutes for a to-go tuna melt. Probably the best place to visit for a pizza party for a youth group. They were nice, but I wouldn’t stop for a single sandwich again.

The Old Timer sandwich was so bomb — in addition to a beef patty, there’s grilled(!) pastrami, two types of cheese, bacon? Delicious. Curly fries were also super fresh and perfect. Skip the fried zucchini, they were a bit over-fried imo. We also got the Gilroy Special pizza but were disappointed. Toppings on the pizza were barely cooked and looked like they were just thrown on after the crust was baked. No red sauce on the pizza either, so it definitely tasted imbalanced and like it was missing something. I’ll be back for the Old Timer and fries.

Local place for locals. Cleansing wise it needs to be deep cleaned again. Food is okay nothing special was hoping it be different from corporate food. Typical American food. Something for the locals to do when bored at home.

I LOVE a fried ravioli and you don’t see them on menus very often, I had seen a photo of them on their Unilocal page so bookmarked it. Saturday night was the night. It is right near the house, and we only wanted the ravioli and a salad. I tell ya, it does not look like what it is from the outside on the inside. It is cavernous and you order food at the counter and find a seat. We thought about a pizza, but they were kinda pricey. We ordered the ravioli(asked for BOTH sauces) and the chicken caesar salad, and two cocktails. You have to pick up your cocktails at the bar around the corner. On the bar was a sign for a hot pretzel with cheese sauce, and we thought that might be a fine snack while we waited for our entrees. Well we waited and we waited. Finally we were called for our entrees. We started them and I went to go cancel the pretzel(which we probably didn’t need — the diet gods were on my side that night). They gave me my money back. The ravioli were pretty decent. The salad was good, but I would have liked the lettuce colder. Another«glad I went, likely will not be back» but MAYBE to try the pizza. It is full of families so not at all romantic, just your LARGE, loud, basic local pizza joint.

Uncle proclaimed this spot as the place with the best Philly cheesesteak so of course we had to stop by before heading up to San Fran! I ordered a Jake’s Deluxe and I had them cut it in half for sharing. The Deluxe was a cheeseburger with Canadian bacon, which is the round ham on eggs Benedict. They claim to use Kobe beef in their patties and all the burgers come with standard fries, which are a little thicker cut than the usual thin fries, super yum! They came out piping hot too. :) The Deluxe was alright… nothing special to bring back home. I had half of the ‘acclaimed’ Philly cheesesteak. They cook all of their hot sandwiches to order and the Philly was no exception! Almost burned my tongue from my first bite of the cheesesteak, LOL got too excited. Pretty good and definitely savory, and it was my first time having it. Would definitely recommend the Philly cheesesteak! Wait time from ordering to the pager buzzing took yeeeaarsss as we smelled each time the cook threw a fresh batch of delicious Philly cheesesteak on the grill or tossed a serving of fries into the fryer. But seriously it did take a while. More than twenty minutes. Décor is vintage-looking and they serve wine and alcohol. Some youngsters in their late teens/early twenties filled three whole long tables and made a bit of a ruckus and gave the establishment a pretty loud ambiance. Not that Jake’s is to blame but that may be the kind of crowd it draws. No need for tipping because you order upfront and pick up your food when your pager buzzes.

I came here with my family to celebrate my nephews game win. I ordered 3 pizzas. The dough was too thick and wasn’t cooked as much as the bottom which was crispy. The cheese tastes cheap. I had a group of 12 who werent fond of the pizza either. I also dislike the fact that the soda machine is behind the bar. Imagine ordering 12 cups of soda at the bar. I also ordered the Cesar salad with chicken. The chicken was terrible. It had a lot of fat. Yuck! I really liked the old fashion feel the restaurant gave you. I also like the layout and the fact that each section has different table styles. Overall I wouldn’t come here again.

I love Jake’s. The food is always good. We had a large pizza with half buffalo chicken and half gilroy. It was perfect amount for 3. I had a delicious steak sandwich with garlic fries. The only problem I had was with the cashier. I had never tried the sandwiches or burgers here so I asked her how is the steak sandwich and the burger. You cannot believe what her response was. She said, quoted, «well one is a hamburger and one is a steak sandwich» in a ‘I cannot believe you just asked that’ tone. I was already shocked but I asked which one is better and she paused for a long time and said«well I guess the steak sandwich?»

First visit and this place looks pretty vintage. It was a place that my boyfriend grew up eating their pizza and from what he claimed it has the best pepperoni pizza that he has ever had. I wasn’t convinced and decided to try it out and he’s right… pepperoni pizza is amazingly good! I’m not a fan of pepperoni but I like it. Pizza is cheesy, pepperoni is crispy and tasty, crust is not too thick! BBQ Chicken is not too bad. Comes with some carrots and celery at the side to complement the BBQ chicken. Tomato Ravoli is pretty good. Ravoli is soft but would be better if the tomato soup base is thicker as it taste kind of diluted. Not sure if it’s meant to be that way to complement the Ravoli. Anyway, I still did finish it up so it wasn’t that bad after all. This place has a nice bar, with interesting decorations and TVs. Staff is very friendly. We’ll definitely come back again when we’re back in the area. Thumbs up!

Jake’s is like an old friend. It’s right down the street from my old high school, so its always been a frequent stop. Although i havent been coming here as much, the food is alwaaaays on point. Suuuperr large varieties of pizza to share, as well as sandwiches, fries and other stuff. All the pizzas are huge, delicious and have helllaaa toppings. I got the fried ravioli once, i think it was a new special they were having. Crunchy on the outside and nice melted cheese on the inside. Beers on tap are on point, as well as the cheap pitchers! Usually its packed during game day and its pretty nice to come buy to have a bite to eat. It has a very sporty vibe, with pictures and jerseys of baseball, basketball… whatever you name it memorabilia all over the walls and tables. The employees are super accommodating and nice with your needs or wants. Definitely stopping by this place more often
