I don’t know if it’s true or not, but my mom said that this place was closed because they needed to find another place to relocate. If that’s true, I hope they find a place soon because I’ve been coming here for years. My mom used to work here when they used to be in San Jose on Steven’s Creek Blvd. This is the GO-TO place for homemade raviolis, they are so yummy. Mom and I always split the pint of ravs with extra cheese. Even my sister had her rehersal dinner here… Yes its that serious ppl, PLEASE let me know where u are!

Lupretta’s, I love their ravioli’s, these are simple and homemade with a marinara. Now if you want some fancy salmon filled 4 cheese ravioli, then go someplace else. However, if you want your basic, classic Italian, homemade ravioli then Lupretta’s is the place. Their sandwiches are good also, again your basic Italian Deli sandwiches. If you want your sandwich smothered in a high calorie sauce then you should probably go to Quiznos instead. Now, I have been going here since they opened. Sure, every once in awhile there has been a hiccup, but I have been pleased with the over all experience. Also, this is family owned business and I have to say that Daryle and his family are great. Oh, I love to go there and get the lunch special. You get a salad, bread, pasta and whatever the special is for that day.

I really tired. I’ve been there several times and tried an assortment of dishes off the menu. At the end of the day the food is over priced, the ravioli is… well I agree with another reviewer… I could get as good from a Campbell’s can. I work in Saratoga and tried hard to use this place a lunch spot but alas… I’ve not been back and wont try it again. Saratoga is an unforgiving town. Expect to see Lupretta’s close soon.

So i went to the deli. and bought what i thought would be a basic deli sandy. turk ham and cheese… ok first they need to put cold things in their own bag considering the raviolis that my party got were heating up my sandwich… therefor my bread was soggy as hell… MMMMMMM, NOT!!! worst sandwich i’ve ever had… ill stick to togos for some good sandies… ive heard a lot about this place and i went there with high expectations, whoops… after all i work at «A Slice Of New York» the place that is now residing at the old lupretta spot on stvns crk… want a good meal??? go there

Ravioli — «OURSPECIALTY» It’s your specialty? Does your name happen to be Chef Boyardee? Thats how the ravioli tasted like. Thin, unappetizing sauce, bland ravioli and the filling was bland as well. Inside the sauce I saw a piece of meat which I was reluctant to eat… but i ate it anyway. Basically, if someone chewed on a piece of McDonalds ground beef till all the juices were gone, and spit it out on the floor, letting it dry, you would be left with the meat in that ravioli sauce. Dry and gross. The tap water didn’t even have ice. WTF? I give this place a Well deserved 2.2 out of 5

My favorite deli! I love the meatball sandwich. It is really yummy. I also recommend the rigatoni. Family owned and operated so they work really hard. Give these guys a try and you won’t be disappointed.

This is a great deli: delicious food, excellent service and very clean! We’ve tried their meatball sandwiches and fresh raviolis. Both were fabulous and definitely a place to return to over and over again. I hope to try more of their food very, very soon!

Great service. Decent sandwich, though I would echo the other reviewer’s comments that guacamole ≠ avocado. Excited to try the ravioli next time.

Lupretta’s rivals La Villa in Willow Glen for the best Ravioli’s in the South Bay. Darryl Lupretta uses an antique Ravioli maker over a hundred years old. Stop by and grab some ravioli’s or a sandwich and don’t forget to take some Homemade ravioli for your next event as well.

We went their for lunch today. My Mom, sister and I had the ravioli’s and it hit the spot. Something warm and yummy on a cold winter day. My brother had the hot pastrami sandwich which Darryl knows that it’s his standard order. I usually have the Dominic’s Special sandwich, but opted for a hot meal instead. I make my own pasta sauce, so I’m really picky and their pasta sauce is good! Thursdays is bbq day with chicken, italian sausage and tri-tip! They sell cold cuts, cheeses and an assortment of salads. Kudo’s to Darryl and his staff!

Lupretta’s has hands-down the best raviolis. Daryl and his mother use a 100-year old ravioli machine and what comes out is just out of this world! Their raviolis have been our New Year’s Eve tradition for at over ten years. We call ahead with our order and have them frozen. We use our own sauce(Italian gravy, that is). And their meatballs are very good as well. We used to get raviolis from La Villa in Willow Glen(less than a mile from our house), but after eating Lupretta’s we find LaV’s doughy(although LaV’s lasagne is excellent) and the drive to Saratoga well worth it.

Dominic’s special is nice but the sweet roll is a little dry and so is the dutch crunch. My one piece of advice is to upgrade your bread to something more fresh and better quality Lupretta’s please. Sweet rolls should not have seeds. Also the olives and mushrooms marinated are just so-so.

I wandered over here after getting a massage at Harmonie across the street… bad idea! I walked in, as the only person who apparently helps you, walked toward the bank… so I stood there looking at the menu board while another worker was cleaning tables and didn’t acknowledge my existence… then the other guy comes back in and asks me what he can get for me. I ordered a turkey and avocado($ 6.50) with swiss($.75) on a french roll, which turned out to be a massive french roll with sesame seeds on it… I was surprised at the size of the sandwich, the roll made it look huge! I also got a bottle of water($ 1.00) and sat down at one of the tables inside. When I finally looked down at the sandwich I realized there were about 5 or 6 slices of bad quality processed turkey lunch meat, not smoked just plain, a couple slices of swiss, tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, mayo, mustard, and a mashed version of guacamole passed off as avocado… it was gross to say the best… I ate a lil over half and couldn’t bear it anymore… used the whole bottle of water to help wash it down… If you are going to offer a turkey and avocado, at least make it REAL avocado! The cold case had about two chunks of meat in there, with no light on inside, kind of ghost town status. When I first arrived there was a couple outside eating a couple sandwiches on sliced bread… and as I sat eating a couple school kids came in and got drinks… a man came in and got a drink and a brownie to go… there are a lot of tables in there but not really any people, but it was also around 3pm… I will definitely not be coming back… about $ 9 for a bad excuse for a sandwich! blech!

Coming from Boston, I’m a pretty tough customer when it comes to Italian delis. Even in my tiny hometown, we had a plethora of amazing ones. So, when I say that I like Lupretta’s, either I’ve been in California too long, or they are a decent deli! Now, I usually stick to sandwiches, like a combo with Italian cold cuts. I’ve had the ravioli, and it’s very good. I can’t vouch for meatballs, and the like. As for the service, I recently had Daryl(I’m guessing it was Daryl by process of elimination) and I thought he was MASSIVELY polite and wonderful — I even commented on this to my boyfriend when I got home. Personally, in this neck of the woods, you really can’t go wrong with Lupretta’s.

My buddy and I stopped in here after a hard day in the sun working on the«Honey Do» lists and grabbed a pair of sammiches. I got the corned beef and he got the prosuto(sp?), both of which we thought were great. The place seemed to never slow down, but they didn’t have enough staff to deal with the constant flow of people coming in for ravioli, which must be what put this place on the map. They also had a few good beers so we sat around and chewed the fat for a bit before heading out. It was a great little spot for a good lunch!

Had a meatball sandwich and good God, I felt sick the rest of the day. The lady who works there just needs to retire, though that’s neither here nor there re the food. The owner(Daryl?) means really well with crisp service, but there is no value ad here by the human beings… the recipes are bland, the ingredients seem to be purchased by the 55gal drum… not compelling at all. In huge contrast to a similarly sized Italian deli in Willow Glen, La Villa, which has amazing sandwiches and decent raviolo, Luprettas is aging and bland.

If i was going to write this review based on just the RAVIOLI it would be 5 stars. They are the most amazing mini-ravioli with a hint of chard in them. But I’m not . Service is so-so AND Skip the sauce(reminds us of Chef Boyardee) and go with a good jar of store bought you like or if you make amazing sauce(like my hubby) compliment it with this culinary delight.

I’d heard good things about this place when it moved to Saratoga this year, but I haven’t really been that wowed by their food or service in my various visits there. The sandwiches aren’t really that good, often with rather dry bread and mediocre ingredients, and several times they messed up my order. My last visit there was especially bad: they managed to misplace my order receipt, so I had to give my order all over again and wait even longer. When I finally got my order and headed home, I found out that though the order was right, some of the ingredients were bad(too old?), and I ended up throwing the rest away. I’ve heard that their ravioli is supposed to be good, but considering how poor the sandwiches are, I’m not sure I want to try them. It’s especially disappointing considering that this is one of the few places you can get a decently priced lunch in downtown Saratoga. I will not be returning though.
